That is how you can tell a great song, when multiple, artists can render their interpretations, of a tune and they all sound enjoyable. there are some song writers, whose song's only they will sing, and they maybe very successful, for themselves, but not others .
This song is so heartfelt. I cry every time I hear it. Flawless rendition. Yolanda, you’re THE Queen of Gospel. May many blessings abound for you. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I am happy every time these Black artists perform at the Appollo.for some, it's honnoring their roots and éducation. But !! In the case of Yolanda, it's only the continuation of her life's work singing the Gospel. She could have walked the path of money, easily, but she did not. She and Leandra and many others bring me joy .Just joy ,since i abandoned any kind of hope.
@@matthewrolle5734 Amazing!! I remembered this comment and was going to share the link but Syrus80 was the person who uploaded it! 😄 What a find! Thanks Syrus80!
I’ve only watched single cover of this song that’s just as powerful as the original back in like 2014 or 2015 of a little girl singing this song down at home that her family posted of her… I never heard the song before that little girls video. And when I tell you that little sista was SANGING this song I mean I watched her sing it so much I didn’t know what to do when it got deleted lol. I finally went to the original version once her was taken down & never to be found again lol.. she makes these grown women sound like they missing something I swear if I could pull up her version and the way she sangggg
Ron Woodruff she still got it but you loose range the older you get which I’ve heard her struggle with sometimes as compared to her older videos but no mistake she can still bring it when she wants too
Markus Chatman true her voice has aged but it is still incredible and peerless. I listened to her performances for the Capital 4th she did a couple weeks ago and just listened to her duet with Wynona Judd for the John Lewis tribute that was recorded within the last week and her voice still gives me goosebumps. Don’t get me wrong, I love her performances in the 90’s. But her 2 Whitney Houston’s tributes in 2012, her Lionel Ritchie tribute in 2014, Glory at the White House in 2016, and Elvis Tribute in 2019 are her greatest performances. And if you want to still see her hit those impossible high notes, watch her Anita Baker tribute in 2018.
Ron Woodruff true i agree with you on all that i am a YA fan and she can still hit some notes but them notes she was hitting on The Through the storm album she aint doing it like that no more . Not a bad thing at all we all loose something when we age the voice becomes more deep and your vocal cords become thinner which restricts the notes that you could hit in your prime.. but notes and all to the side she still blows most of these folk out the water
Markus Chatman it sounds like you are as big a fan of her as I am! I have RUclips premium so I can set up playlists of Yolanda Adams. I decided I would just include my favorite performances that I want to hear every day on one playlist. I was only able to whittle down to 80 videos. I have to hear her sing every day. Her voice is ointment for my soul and as Patti Labelle said when Yolanda received the Soul Train Lady of Soul last year, “when she opened her mouth to sing, God comes into the room.”
If you don't cry over this, your not human...that song is by far the most amazing and comforting words ever!!
Each and everytime I hear it😢
Agreed 💯💯
Everytime 😢
Man, people don't sing like this no more!
she still does
I have found over a dozen versions of this song and every one of them is different and amazing. True artist.
Exactly! 💯👑
Same here! Each one is so different. Yet it hits the same way. I don't have a favorite version

What we witnessed was a woman led by the spirit singing this beautiful song, while having an out of body experience. This is magnificent!

At her prime ❤️
Markus Chatman I think she is still in her prime at 58 years old. She has always taken care of her gift from God and it is still incredible.
