The inlay is a nice touch. We did the same thing for a box top in an inlay class I took. Patterned inlay strip is nice also.

Fantastic job! My only question is, and don't get me wrong you did the job with it so it's obviously possible, why pick something that looks like a five and a half or a six to chamfer rather than something shorter?

How could you do the inlay without an electric router? Would you have to do it before the mitred edges?
