Honestly I loved skaterXL so much i had 100+ hrs on it (which is quite a lot for me because i dont rlly game a lot at all) but since i tried session not too long ago, i’ve been addicted to session and been loving it more than skaterxl, so hyped for session 1.0 to come out

Nah...I'm old school PC gamer I guess...it's these days modders charge and shit...like I'm good with hey please donate if you can, but to put your mod behind a paywall, that's lame...like bro this isn't your game, you built this script or whatever on top of someone else's platform and now you are charging for it. Do what you want and charge sure, but I'm gonna do what I want and refuse to buy mods for any game. Cyberpunk modders have made sht that CD project red should have really put in the base game and some of them are so good that they seem like they are vanilla, they aren't charging for the sht. Not gonna name the mod but if you are familiar with XL mods you know what I'm talking about, his mod is cool...but it's janky, and behind a paywall, dawg didn't do that sht...and if he did he made it known he'd be releasing public version. I'm over XL, I'm over easy day..I put over 500 hours into XL and that's all they get from me..I'll be playing session until skate comes out, and tbh my hopes aren't that high for that game based on the leaks..i don't care for arcade skate games if I want that I'll play thps. All I want creatur to do is add multiplayer some day if they can.
With session on console I just hope they dont abandoned it and leave it for months before adding new content. The lack of content skater XL got is why i uninstalled the game and stopped playing

After about 20 hours if not less, it doesn't feel like that anymore. XL spoiled us with the snappy controls, it's like XL your skater is super fit and perfect... session the skater has weight.. he's not perfect, you gotta put in the work to really make him do what you want him to then you can skate perfect...plus the timing aspect which is important for session, but you get used to the weight and having to actually time your tricks, I'd say the hardest issue with me coming from XL is...all stances but regular...switch, fakie, and nollie were soooo hard for me to get used to..and tbh I still think XL makes more sense from a skateboarding standpoint. Good news, when you do get good at session, you don't lose everything when/if you go back to xl....that's my experience at least, XL screwed me for learning session but not the other way around. And I'm pretty decent at session now. Like a basic ollie, session you have to use both sticks, if you do that in XL...it's not that bad. When I go back to xl I found myself using both sticks to ollie like in session and the game obviously doesn't punish you for it...just tweaks them. That kind of stuff, session is more punishing.

1:58 That's my main issue with SXL. The board catches before the skaters foot touches. And more importantly, the flat ground skater animations look like he's doing the tricks down a 12 stair
to be fair, he wasn't using catch inputs to catch the board, just auto catch. you can catch with either or both feet manually which is more challenging but looks better and replicates actual skating better
You can make a lot of shit look really good on vanilla physics I just feel like nobody wants to spend the time to do it fr cause of how shit easy days been with their console audience
honestly i’ve played countless hours of XL and nowadays it’s just boring, even with all the new mods and everything there’s been no real development to the vanilla game
there is actually a bit of the outside of this map since the creator said he wants to make like a city... to access it you need to fall i the plants in the skatepark and then ur out of the map... then just use the pindropper to go up and u can skate the exterior of that map

I bought SkaterXL awhile back. And only out a few hours into it before giving up. It’s a dope game I just never really got into it. Tho I am looking forward to session here soon to try that out.
Easy day is an absolute sham of a company I’ve had skater XL on Xbox since launch and I’ve never been more disappointed in a game release and updates after, ffs applewood didn’t work for months
When playing session you both stick and lean them both to whatever side the 50-50 is just like skater xl kind of you will lock on but you have to hold the sticks in the direction until you want to let go

No interactive npcs going around or anything. Empty and souless man. No flips no darkslide. Im playing skate 2 and 3 right now and it feels so pure
Could anyone explain why the mods seem so much more complete and applicable to skater xl rather than session? I realize there’s a bunch of mods for session but it seems like xl is so much more moddable than session for some reason! Just curious
Because the developers for XL decided to do jack shit with the game, so modders had to do pretty much everything to make this what it is today. Community would be non existent without the mods. On the other hand, Session doesn’t need as many mods because the devs are putting what players want in the game. It could use some more maps, but I’m sure the community will get cooking once 1.0 releases
