Let’s not have IndyCar there because the racing was painfully boring. Laguna Seca is way better. Plus we already have waaaaaay too many road courses in IndyCar. No more adding circuits plz
Because the time of year that the grass is green, is the time of year they'd have a high risk of a rain out. And a rain out all the way out west is something they don't want.
@@LASTCARonBROCK thanks for the info. That group used to run a racing simulator of the same name and even had big names like Allan McNish and Dan Wheldon on board to help them out. Even had the Audi R18 prototype in 2011, DW12 Indycar in 2012, and CotA before the F1 game came out. The game basically died in 2014 but it was fun to race. They had tons of variants of Sonoma, including kart layouts and time attack type stuff
It will always be Sears Point Raceway to me. It looks beautiful seeing green grass instead of dead grass.
"Urinating Tree"......nice. 😆
Haha yeah we were listening to his old "Taz-Mania" video game review on the way to the track.
Why it’s not part of the “west coast swing” I will never understand
This videos captures the elevation so well. Super cool of sears point and exited to see racing on new surface. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice indeed. Didn’t know grass grew there, beautiful.
The current state of the circuit reminds me of the Gran Turismo 4 version.
I wish NASCAR can still race on the carousel
Cool
Why can't we have Sears Point for Both IndyCar and NASCAR in March as a part of the West Coast Swing

I think a lot of this with the schedule is because of the grape growing season for the nearby wineries
At the very least, double up on IMSA and NASCAR like Daytona.
Imagine if you did a video on the history of Front Row Motorsports for rise of the field fillers. Also Green Sonoma!!!
I wonder what would stop ░G░r░e░e░n░ ░S░o░n░o░m░a░ from being part of the west coast swing
Awesome and unexpected video Brock, thanks for this.
WHY DOESN'T NASCAR RACE WHEN THE GRASS IS ALIVE AND NOT DEAD?! It looks beautiful.

@@cracklecracklebaybay5612 rainouts on road courses are rather rare considering they have rain tires.
The bump heading to turn 11 still looks like it’s there, does it feel the same as before the repave or less significant?
You know, we didn't notice it, and just by the feel we thought it was flattened out. But yes, you can see in the footage it's still there.
Is the Simraceway school still there with a building between T1 and T2 just before the bridge?
I believe it still is, though they also added a new viewing area for fans on the track side of the building.

Starting off a video with squealing tires and a dude holding the wheel hard right is Hoonigan-level shit.
I have visions of John Krebs flipping...
