    Really excellent overview. I just got a handheld, old Raman spectrometer for experimentation off of eBay and can’t wait to receive it and learn more hands-on!!

      Citing RUclips content can be tricky - My best guess is to link to the video, the channel, and add a date to the citation.

    A virtual state, by definition does not exist, and has zero (not short) lifetime. It was introduced by analogy to photoluminescence, such that the schematic format of the Jablonski diagramme can be used to explain the phenomenon. Raman scattering of a photon is an instantaneous event, and should not be considered as an excitation process..
