Good video. Thanks. It helped me swap mine out! I thought there was an easy way to do it, but your video showed me the way. However, you could show how to put it back as well. As I commented below, I had a tough time getting the pins back in and it ended up just being the alignment of the springs. Once I figured out the alignment, using the notches on the circular parte around them as a guide, it worked fine.

Anyone who comes across this and has trouble pulling out the silver pins, check for a horse-shoe shaped black pin on the smaller side, you might have to tap off that piece in order to pull the silver retainer clips out. (On my vehicle the silver retainers faced inwards and the horseshoe things were on the smaller part on the outside, didn't notice them until I couldn't figure out why they weren't easily sliding out like in this video)

How do u change the sliding part of the armrest on a 2007-2010 lx570? Theres 2 part of the armrest where u open and the top has 2 slide part for driver and passenger side so u can slide it out if u have long arms.

I have something rolling around inside my armrest. I can't figure what the heck in would be because it's sealed.

@@furlonggg1 that sucks! I have been searching online for days and haven't found a way to open it without damaging the leather. Some stupid design.

My hinge pins will no for the life of me go back in all the way. they get stuck on the circular metal spring on the armrest hinge. Been trying for hours with no luck. I can get the old worn on back on, but the replacement looks identical, and won't allow the pins to be pushed all the way in. Any ideas?

I had the same problem and I figured it out. Turns out that those little metal springs need to be ALIGNED so you can insert the pins. It is not easy to align them, but try to put both in the same position and then put the cover in line with what you did and push them HARD. I even used a little nudge from a little hammer to get it in but it eventually went in. Placement and alignment is the key. I fixed this on a Lexus IS 220d.

I tried this on my 2015 Toyota Avalon XLE Touring and there were no retaining pins in the back. Did they change it on 2015 Toyotas?
