you guys should do a comparison from the old to new version of Jerac’s TIE fighter. that would be a really cool video to see the side-by-side differences.
The word Genius is used too often and invariably without merit in this world, but Jerac is a 100%, bona-fide, authentic genius when it comes to Lego design. His models are WAY, WAY better than anything the lego in-house designers have ever produced. The closest to his standards that Lego have produced is 75192 the Lego UCS Falcon. Personally I’d love to see Jerac take on and design a mini-fig scale Falcon with a full interior and consisting of about 14-15,000 pieces. With his level of ability, skill and attention to detail that would be a real show stopper in my view.
That would be a year long project. I'd do nothing other than this one MOC. Right now I don't want to build such big models, especially after Razor Crest which already took almost 10 months from first piece placed in studio to last render.

I like the redesign, it's cool that you took a design that was already among you most solid, and updated it to make it even more structurally sound. The cockpit and greebles around the wings are beautiful and the proportions are nailed. I can really tell Jerac went all out on this overhaul, though I'm not sure how I feel about the new wing dimensions... I don't doubt that the new ones are more accurate, but I think the sharper angled hexagons complimented the look more in the original. They sorta fit the public memory, which I didn't mind, while this is 100% source material accurate. It actually slightly reminds me of EC Henry's TIE Vigilant fan design.

Looks amazing, absolutely next level. I would love to see a “version” optimized for part carryover to the new version (eg keeping the old black 1x2 bricks instead of this new method). Might capture a completely different market of people looking to upgrade. Just a suggestion, I have no clue the real world readability of this.
We had a lenghty discussion whether this should be included, and ultimately we decided against, to lessen confusion. But, hm, maybe a subtle free update fixing some of the wings proportions (they are much better than original ones, but also a bit too rectangular) could also bring this variant back.
@Jerac I could see why you + BV made that call, perhaps a few weeks down the line of something.... Yeah the wing updates look amazing, and would be an awesome update for the original design. (idk if possible but) if possible, the updated connection method for the cockpit glass piece would be greatly appreciated as well. Of course more work for you though so I can understand if you will be just leaving as is..
