It took me a couple of years into my journeys to the DR to finally visit Santo Domingo and glad I did. To me it's a combination of Miami New Orleans and New York with a touch of L.A. thrown in. I will email you soon brother with my contact information.

In Santo Domingo, if you go to the places where the tourists go (like the Colonial Zone for example) you will come across girls that are all about the money. But once you start knowing the people and hanging out where the locals are, you will start meeting nice women. That doesn't mean it will be free because there is nothing free in this world. You are expected to help them out but it won't be anywhere near as expensive as it is to date in the US.
But if you can get along without getting married, that would be best.
