Drass is a small town located in the Kargil district of the Indian union territory of Ladakh. It is famously known as the "Gateway to Ladakh" and is situated at an altitude of around 3,280 meters (10,761 feet) above sea level. Drass is also known for being one of the coldest inhabited places on Earth, with temperatures dropping to as low as minus 60 degrees Celsius (-76°F) during winter.
Drass gained international attention during the Kargil War in 1999, when the Indian Army fought and pushed back intruding Pakistani troops. Today, Drass is a popular destination for adventure enthusiasts, nature lovers, and history buffs. Visitors can explore the Drass War Memorial, which honors the martyrs of the Kargil War, and enjoy scenic trekking routes, camping, and other outdoor activities.

I hv been posted at this place for 2 yrs in 1993 -95. And during my stay in Jan 95, it recorded minimum temp of -50 deg. I dont think it has gone below that till now. That was really the coolest winter when trees and birds would burst during night. I also remember having walked from Kargil to Drass in snow and avalanche.

Thanks dear. I am an exserviceman and I remember the year 1999 in which the Kargil war conducted. The name is Kargil, but the heavy war involved in drass village. Myself also participated in the war.

i just went to kashmir and leh laddakh trip with y family and were visited most of the sights like gulmarg , kargil , srinagar , dras , leh , pangon , etc
and it is really beautiful place to visit and is a must visit place for travellers

The effect you are trying to create would work when the water is thinly spread in the atmosphere when thrown little higher and spread across just like fishing cast net throwing technique. Throwing water from cup in a lump form would always fall down. Also notice that some of the water did create that effect so kudos!

I have never tried bt if you've splashed the water to longer distance in a circular motion rather than throwing it just to a little distance, it might have frozen.

Yes. It has to in a circular motion which will spread the hot water in larger surface area and hence will freeze faster

mere bhai aise nhi hota wo effect, apko water ko droplets me convert krna padta h jo ki bahut tez pani fekne se hota h abhi jo aap fek rha ho wo clump me jaa rha hai...pura paani ek sath apko tez fekna padega tab hoga...aur ye itne temperature me bahut easily hota hai....apne water slow feka h bahut tez aur upr fekna tha aapko.....

Ye log kitne achchhe hain. Kashmiri log bahut achchhe hain, khaadkar jo extreme north me rehte hain. Main hyderabad me rehta hun and yahan sare gunde hain.
