I love that these beautifully-written older songs are being covered by young musicians, and that they are getting new life with a younger audience. Great songs persist. Thank you!
Being as old as 65, I can get into bad habits of not wanting to listen to young people's music, then I would be a fool not to, because I found great treasures on RUclips such as these Lads, and at 65 I am only now learning to sing and play guitar, even writing songs a blessing because now i can get my own stories out there, yes listening to wonderful young musicians can be very inspiring
Well "These Days" was written by Jackson Browne when he was 16 and he's 72 years old now. So you're listening to old people's music being played by young(ish) guys. But yes, it's inspiring.

your story is the same as mine. (I'm 63) My son took me to a Neil Young concert after he listened to my albums !! I then took him to the 'Other Favourites' concert in London 2019. We were both blown away by Josh, Carson, Toni and Riena. I now play guitar, sing, and record my own music, inspired by these talented people. Isn't music great !!
Fascinating version of a song, written by a young ( 17 years old ) Jackson Browne, These 2, after decades together, still attract and hold an incredible audience of very fine people.
One of my favorite things about Josh is it he usually looks as though he just rolled out of bed and said, “I think I’ll record one to upload.” And, yes, Josh, “That was nice.”
Two talented guys who only care about making good music. They don't care about costumes, haircuts, just look at Josh's hair in this video ... they just give us what a musician should deliver, music. Best youtube music channel ever.
Browne was such an old soul so young. "Don't confront me with my failures......I had not forgotten them." At 16, how many failures has one had that one has had the time and perception to consider them? Amazing. Stunning. Perfect rendition of this wonderful tune of self examination. Bravo, young men, bravo.
While I don't doubt Josh's talent would shine through in any generation, a big factor in his playing is the inspiration of folk guitarists like John Fahey, Leo Kottke, Nick Drake, et al. He would not have been as likely to know and study these guitarists if he was living at the time.
Do you know how hard it is and how long it takes to get your hair to look like you don't give a crap about your hair? give these guys some style credit friends : ) My older sister in 1969 was a total hippie. It took her hours to get the look like she hadn't changed he clothes or showered in a month.
What a great birthday present! I am consistently amazed by that little Zoom H2. I just caution folks in the comments to understand a great deal of understanding and talent is required to get results like this on a portable recorder. When limited by mic placement, instrument placement and dynamics need to be perfect. Look at where the guitar amp is, listen to the volume. See where Carson is sitting, and how he is interacting with the Zoom. Look at how Josh leans in when singing harmony, but his voice is still placed perfectly underneath the melody. This is expert level playing and recording through and through. The amount of time these two and all the other musicians featured in their other videos have dedicated to their crafts really shows. You guys are highly appreciated. Please keep it up.
@Thomas Mackey -- Me too. It stays in my "Suggested Videos" list because I can't stop listening. That's a great way to put it, Thomas -- it's growing in my soul. Yes.
It seems youth is not wasted on the young. I was a senior in high school, about to go away to college in 1973. I was never more alive. All of you are great talents, playing great music. Brother seven years younger turned me on to you. Version was too powerful not to acknowledge.
Carson's right hand...oh, for that much flexibility! I'm 58 and have played guitar since age 13. My hands feel more like plywood than plastic anymore. Not to be overlooked, what an absolutely delicious rendition of the song!! Kudos and props to you both!
Back in 1973, I bought Gregg Allman's Laid Back album. That was the first time I ever heard this song. Later that year, I bought Jackson Browne For Everyman, and that's when I realized this was a Jackson Browne tune. Its always been one of my favorites. You guys did a beautiful job.
Absolutely everything I love about these guys is in this video: Carson's beautiful buttery vocal tones, Josh's smooth gifted playing style...and, you know, the hair thing.
Jackson Browne songs like this are perfect for Carson's voice. This early song of JB's is very much in the country/folk vein; it will fit in well with your many of your regular set pieces. Josh as always is first class with the harmony and guitar. Great song, guys. I so look forward to seeing you on tour again soon.
Josh, best moment of the video is seeing how you are quite obviously 'high' from the music at the end. It's one thing to listen to you perform, but another to actually be you performing like this consistently. I bet it is the most pure and natural 'drug' that there is. Keep doing what you're doing, the world is a better place for having you in it.
These Days is one of my all time favorites…… “These days I sit on corner stones And count the time in quarter tones to ten, my friend”… Great singer songwriter lyric. Now I must say These Guys are one of my favorites ! At 66 I only wish I played and sang as good. Great job boys!
That guitar is so beautiful oh my GOD the bridge I fbhfh I cannot comprehend how beautiful that is I’m going to have to listen to this video 1000 times
Wow, Josh and Carson.... this is one of my favorite songs, and now this is my favorite version. Listened three times on repeat... thanks for everything boys, and keep it up.
Josh Turner (and Carson and friends) are part of the next generation of Paul Simons and Jackson Brownes. This makes me happy for the future of music. It has been really cool to follow you all on your journeys. As I have said many times to all of you, keep it up. Love your covers, your music, and your enthusiasm. Thanks.
60 years ago you two guys would have gone down in history.
It really doesn’t get any better than this folks
facts
This morning, I set out to discover the internet entire. I've stopped looking and am watching this on repeat instead.
Are you sure?
Agreed.
Perfect harmony. Beautiful cover.
That end lyric just gets you every time... "Don't confront me with my failures, I had not forgotten them"...
Yup, or as Gregg Allman sang it, “I’m aware of them”
crazy thing is that Jackson Browne wrote those lyrics when he was like 16 or some such. Great tune.
one of my favourite lines of all time
This song reminded me of a couple of business meetings I've been in over the years...
brings a tear to my eye
I love that these beautifully-written older songs are being covered by young musicians, and that they are getting new life with a younger audience. Great songs persist.
Thank you!
The people in Josh's building are the only neighbors who start banging on the wall when he *stops* playing music with his friends.
Excellent!
Upvote 1000%!
Best comment ever about these guys !
I liked this because it deserved more than 300
I wanna live in that same house, next door, please.....
consistently awed by josh's playing. can't get enough of carson's voice. also vibing on josh's hair. this is a 10/10 would recommend for me.

Only good things happen when these two get together. Both are major talents, for a more humble, decentralizing world.
Sitting on the front porch of my old farmhouse, looking down the green-canopied country road, listening to to this honey of a song. Close to heaven.
Indeed!
Sitting on my front porch looking out at Puget Sound, listening. Heaven as well!

Check out Carson's channel "Don't Fear" and "You Don't Know Me (at all). Both originals.
Josh should have been a guitarist back in the 70’s. Just imagine how the world would have been!
pretty much the same... he is covering songs from the seventies.

'Don't confront me with my failures, I have not forgotten them....' That line pulls at my heartstrings every time. Truly beautiful performance.

I am sure JB is simply delighted with this interpretation of his masterwork. These blokes have the Midas touch.
