As a father, my main take away from this video is how clean your room is. Thank you.
At the start of the video the subtitles say “ if you have a kid but you’re not sure how to start building it”
😂 I guess RUclips doesn't think I speak clearly enough!
Excellent video! Thank for this, not only you showed the essentials but also gave examples on how/where to use it.
Glad you enjoyed it! I love doing reviews of model building tools, so be on the lookout for those in the future!
@@aMillaGunpla Will do, building my first model right now (Freedom 2.0 MG) and the nub marks are killing me, need to buy a knife of those you showed.
Hi from 2023 ! Great video for me as a novice in this hobby, I hope to learn as much as possible from you !
This is an old video, but damn I'm happy I found it. Just got a job again, and am able to get into Gunpla again. Thanks a ton friend.
Awesome, I just have recently purchased a tool kit but it did not have the x-action knife. I'll also get that to make cleaner model kits.
Great demo with the exacto. I usually use the pliers and then just start sanding the nubs down but it’s so hit or miss. Definitely going to buy one this weekend!
This was awesome! I got an RG Red Astray I've been sitting on for a good while. I'll have to pick up that chisel blade when i start that build.
Nice video I remember when I begin my first scale models building I used to cut my fingers with that very sharp hobby knife you can make a safety video for those first beginners how to cut safely with that razor sharp knifes I learned fast in a painful way lol
Oh no! I’m sure we all have that ONE cut that makes use change our technique 😅 that may be a good idea!
Lol I have a big gash in my leg from slipping with one of those, full inch of blade went right in
Thanks for the great video! I have recently been looking into starting Gunpla and I am clueless.
Thank you my friend.
You’re welcome, my friend!
2:38 can you sand it off with a filer instead?
Thanks man great video. Id like to see a vid on panel lining also where dod you get that work matt?
I would actually really like to see a panel lining video cause I normally just use panel lining pens but I would really like to learn to use the enamel
Very useful guide!
Thanks bro. Your video short. But does explain what each tools for. Tq
Glad it helped!
Hi bro! Awesome video! I'd still consider myself a beginner Gundam model builder (last model I've built was a High Grade kit, 15 years ago, without knowing these building tools). Now that I'm able to buy a Master grade (my dream Heavy Arms model) for my own, I'm afraid to even touch it haha. Anyway, more power to you and your channel. (P.S. Would like to know the name of the green grid mat though an where to buy it.) (PPS: Great video, but with some blurring issues, especially when we need to focus on the item, Samsung phone cam issue maybe?) Thank you
Thank you! Yeah, this was one of my earlier videos, and quality of my more recent videos has improved much since then!
This is the cutting mat I have, but you could use any of them you want, really!

Please guys, always cut away from yourself, not towards.
And as somebody who had lost blood a few times to gunpla; I’d also like to add: be careful where you put your fingers, especially the ones not holding the knife.
And don’t force yourself to do gunpla when you’re sleepy or too tired. That’s when accidents tend to happen. Get some rest and continue later.
I always use my own jugular as a surface when cutting pieces
@aMilla can I mention if you look at a knife making store you can get adhesive backed sandpaper for making your own sanding sticks. Rhynowet is the brand I use 🙂
I usually use DSPIAE's adhesive sand paper, but that might be cheaper, thanks for the suggestion!
@@aMillaGunpla the exact product is called Rhynostick, it runs me about $3 AUD per metre. The roll is about 3-4 inches wide. Good quality wet and dry paper
Nice very informative!
Great video
Thanks for this. What are the blade numbers for the Chisel and the one you use for Detail work? The Standard Blade is a #11, I know that much… and that’s ALL I know ! 😀
The chisel is #18, and the smaller blade is another brand, but you should be able to use the X-Acto #16 🙂
@@aMillaGunpla thanks!
Just started watching this. Intro is lit!
You make me want to start getting into Gunpla! Awesome videos! Really high quality!
This is so cap, I do everything with a single hobby knife with a half rusted blade and it's just fine.
Nail clipper and teeth is the way
excellent video!
Thank you
Hey I wish you have that list written down so that I can just copy and buy it 😁
will the wisepro nipper be a good option
Building my first Gundam now, got a cheap kit off Amazon and sliced my thumb trying to hold a tiny piece and cut towards myself like cutting a vegetable smh 😂
That's the initiation process, welcome to the club!
What exactly is a grit?
whats the name of the BOARD GREEN?
I can only get these things online and they are over priced 😔
can u show us how to use decals
what do you use the sand paper for?
Probably to grind down the burrs leftover from the nibs
Nani ? Thinner to clean tamiya accent panel line?
What action bases do you use?
I haven't been using action bases lately, but usually the AB1 or AB5
I DONT HAVE A LOCAL HOBBY STORE NOW WHAT ??
Sorry to hear that! You could always make your own sanding sticks using sandpaper and popsicle sticks like I did in this vid. Sometimes it even ends up cheaper and better than pre-made sanding sticks!
As for the other tools, do you have an art supply store nearby? They may have some comparable tools you can use.
Hobby Lobby would work
They sell kits there like mine does and they have sales for the model kits they sell in general every once in awhile(how i got my Jesta for 14 bucks USD) along with panel line markers
Target also has a few HGs
Does this still apply today june 2023??? Im getting my 1st kit MG Deathscythe EW
If only your camera would focus
excellent vid, except u forgot to mention the part where u cut and work on ur parts.. like a mat or something. Right in ur face but what is that? U want us to just cut directly on tables or wat?! LOL
He definitely uses a self-healing cutting mat
Pakistan is banned in Gundam planet 😢
Those master grade are downright boring and dull.
Which ones?
