- I remixed the "Nandy Sisters" (Antara and Ankita) viral performance of the song "Kajra Re"
These sisters are immensely talented, so please make sure to also check their channels:
@antaranandy
@ANKITANANDY
FULL VERSION OUT NOW: ruclips.net/video/r5s79W27Fps/видео.html
Will it also be on Spotify?
The guitarist felt a little bit intimidated by the bass player, so there will be a guitar solo in the full version. Also, big thanks to Ankita and Antara Nandy for approving this remix.
I was waiting on the other Indian song you had (like as if system of the down were Indian or something like that) not this romantic girly stuff 😂
I loved the video great work! Just a heads up, the links to their channels in the description of the video are currently broken
Please do a full metal cover of Kajra Re! I love your full metal covers of other songs.
That's really cool
I‘m seeing double … four Andres!
....meanwhile, somewhere far away in India:
"Check it out. This is the metal song we've been yearning for."
🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha, but as good as it might sound, this is not metal. More funk rock than anything.
This is not metal. Not at all
No one's yearning for indian classical/metal fusion. These goras are fishing for Indian likes (population game) to go viral asap and have a big following. All this, and they'll go behind our backs and say we shit on fields and are cave people. Fyi this mix is v basic and nothing close to what the Nandy sisters have done in the original.
This is good, but we already got metal bands. Check this one out - ruclips.net/video/Gsy5sJy5_34/видео.html
Here are few useful info about Indian classical music for those who are interested. Even though the notes they were singing "Sa re Ga ma pa dha ni" are the counterparts of Western "Do re mi fa.." in Indian classical singing, you can sing those notes to sing songs or part of song without lyrics like they are doing here, these are called Taan, instead of using the specific note sound, one can also use just "Aa aa aa" sound like the opera singer, although unlike opera singing, the sound is only "AA aa aa" and not any other vowels. Those are called Aalaps. Traditional Indian music doesn't have concept of Harmonizing, neither in vocals, nor in instruments. Although, sometimes instruments and vocals do play different notes that ultimately harmonize together, but those are rare and Harmony in its truest sense don't exist. One of the unique property that Indian classical music has, which I think no other music has is its relation with time of the day or season.. so, you can call it a super genre of sort. Instead of just mood or brightness or pace, it's somehow linked to the time of the day...So, a day is traditionally divided in "Prahars", which is like 4 hours, so each "Raag" has one of its defnining parameter of which "Prahar" it belongs to, for example Bhairavi Raag is associated with "Bhor" or dawn. some Raags have association with natural event or season. So, Vasant Raag which means Spring is associated to that, or Meghmallar(Megh means Cloud) is associated to Rain. It's said that if a singer or musician has attained the highest level of connection to the universe, he or she can play the Raags irrespective of their timing or event, and the event or timing would follow instead. So, Tansen, one of the great singer in the Mughal Dynasty has a legend of bringing out rain just by singing the Meghmallar Raag. Now you know.
Wow never knew this❤ thank you
Thanks that’s really interesting. I had noticed that the sisters were seeming to sing words to a part of the music that I believed to be an instrumental section, and now realise they were performing Taan. But how quickly and precisely they were singing. They are massively talented, and beautiful sounding voices too.
Thank you so much from northern Minnesota, USA, for this enlightening information!
Thanks for the detailed insights....just a slight correction here with regard to nomenclature...singing out the notes "Sa Re Ga...etc" is called "Sargam", while using vowels "Aa, Ee, Oo...etc" to sing those notes is called "Taan". And "Aalaps" are usually the improvisational sargams / taans a musician may use to set the context or elaborate a Raag...
Bro, I've learned classical violin. Violins, Harmonium etc. Do harmonize with the singer.
Indian peoples are masters of rythm 😯
Half my neighbors are Indian. This is going to be my icebreaker
how had it go
come on bro tell us how did it go ?
RIP lol
Oh, Parsippany.
@@ambatuBUHSURK I don't even know what that means 🤣
Oh, it's Kajra Re. No wonder it sounds so familiar to me.
Thanks for the info! But they did a very good re-arrangement!
The two transition so seamless, it feels like they share one voice
That's because the original heavy pitch corrected.
They do, it's called auto tune.
Autotuned and edited. But its good
seamlessly
Would like to hear if they can even sing
The Indian song I didn't know I've been waiting for, but agree that I have.
You agree with yourself. Riiiiiiight
😂 good one
Now you have what you agree with.
The thing I've been learning about Indian music is that they put a ton of effort into precise rhythm and timing. This is the second song you've posted with insanely complicated vocals
Uh...... that was incredible!
I'm an American who lives in Kenya. Some of the churches here have pastors that get going so hard that they get really guttural and put a rhythm to their preaching. It's straight up Death Metal material. I'd love to see you try something with that or the local village music.
Make a RUclips account and post some video!
@@KM-pm6qe I'll try to get some video. Our pastor is actually very clear voiced, but the one next to our church could step in for most Death Metal bands.
@@Metalbass1979 that would be awesome. I’ll stay tuned!
Kenyans in fact Africans watch a lot of Hindi movies.
😮😮😮
Wow, Indian vocal ornamentation can be so beautiful. The sweetness of the harmony during the duet portions is incredibly beautiful. Great instrumental interpretation as always, Andre. Thank you!

@@Amuzic thanks for the little lesson :) I was more so referring to how the timbres of their voices harmonize as opposed to actual interval harmonies. Also, since there are some microtonal differences even as they are trying to sing together -- they are a good pair in other words.
If I'm not mistaken there is also harmonization using drone instruments and sympathetic strings like with sitar -- but again I guess that's more atmospheric as opposed to specific interval harmonies like in the west.
Either way, beautiful music!!
Has a 2000s coke studio india vibe. that's a great thing
Two beautiful Desi girls with angelic voices with a smooth and funky backing track is a total win!
Indian Pop Alternative Rock. What a sunny spring day.
Good lord those girls have amazing voices.
And you've got Geddy to play bass!! Well done, sir!! 😂😂
They are nandi sisters, ankita and antara... They are just awesome..
That slap bass goes crazy
Yep! bass sounds great!
Those Geddy Lee glasses... 😂 Awesome!
Now Rush have to make a cover of this : )
Dude looks EXACTLY like Geddy it's absurd.
Slappin' da base
Appropriate attire for slappin' that six-string.
@@MehmetAtalay-on9yr - Someone should notify Davey immediately.
Wow Andre..please keep profiling these amazing artists we don't get shown in the west..you've really discovered a great colab style ..those voices!! Perfectly backed ...just awesome ❤🇦🇺🙏
Yes!
Nandy Sisters, they are.
I don't care if they're singing about twerking or a day in the week, such skill is incredible
I agree. But ,Actually they are singing a Bollywood song , vaguely its praising dark kohl laden mesmerising eyes of some girl .
The song is about love
I somehow got obsessed with their beautiful voices, can't stop listening! Even while lying in my bed at 3 AM I'm still bouncing to it xD
I can't stop listening to this!!!!!
Love this. I heard an Indian Metal song in school once and was captivated. Sadly I never met the person who showed it to me again and had no idea who the musicians were. This is great.
it might be bloodywood. check them on youtube
Thanks for the tip. I've listened and quite like them already. Will listen to more. It's a bit more shouty than my tastes. I tend to prefer the more melodic side of metal to the rap and growl type but it's certainly not bad.
It probably was PENTAGRAM or INDUS CREED... ❤
Very '90s Rush feel - love it!!!
You’re absolutely right!
Funny you say that, I thought it was Geddy (for just a microsecond) when the bass came in
TOO SHOOORT 😭💔
For now
Check out the pinned post.
Well their voices, obviously. But their synchronised hand movements. I was mesmerised. Nice work.
lo dije varias veces... pero no me sale otra cada vez que veo algun video de Andre.. que genio, increible¡¡¡¡
THAT BASS!!! THAT VOICES!!! PERFECT!!!
Я прям ждал этой коллабы! И так это Андре сделал изящно и бережно, что стало еще красивее! Хотя девочки эти звучат просто божественно
можно поспорить на что угодно, что эти две красотки из касты брахманов.
you understand indian music more than most indians
You are one of those Indians, it seems. Weird comment!
🤨From which system u came here to tell grater India's knowledge in Indian music...in my state every 6 yrs girls (students) were in singing classes... In their 12 hours schedule...they attend singing classes for 2 hours...then in the evening they attend dance classes for 1:30 hours....then 1 hour karate classes...then study classes...ever heard a state called West Bengal... Came here what's ur total knowledge is all about on Indian music is lower than these 6 yrs singing childrens knowledge ... Don't represent urself or ur knowledge as grater India.... ☝️🤨🤧
No , just because you live among dumb people doesn't mean everyone is dumb
Stop licking
@@arindamdutta9999Which state are you from?
This is actually... fantastic!
This is beyond anything else. Absolutely beautiful.
He is SO into indian music
This is one of my favorites of yours so far, thank you Andre, thank you Nancy Sisters, such amazing work all around.
Nandy
Nandi sisters
The singing and playing--especially with the bass guitar added--were great. I'm so used to hearing tablas with up-tempo Indian singing that it sounded strange without them in the ensemble.
Bro this absolutely shredded! 🤘
This is on fire bro! Love these Indian girls, gonna enjoy replaying this one today for the farm animals. Good vibes, keep up the awesome music my man! Beaming support and love from NE Washington.
No clue what they are singing but this Indian yodeling is cool
They are vocalising the seven notes. Do Re Mi Fa is Sa Re/Ri Ga Ma in India. There are certain rules to be followed when vocalising depending on the Raga they are trying to sing.
Not yodeling, man. Those are the seven notes Sa, re, ga, ma, pa, dha, ni. Classical music originated in India.
Yodeling is a form of singing which involves repeated and rapid changes of pitch between the low-pitch chest register (or "chest voice") and the high-pitch head register or falsetto. That isn't happening in this at all.
They are singing the sargam/notes followed by the lyrics in the same sargam/notes.
It's Indian solfege AKA Sargam.
Ok, this is BOP!. The voice is naturally melodious .
It's impressive how you can both showcase Karen insanity, and introduce the world to real talent that most Westerners would not otherwise stumble upon.
The most beautiful of all instruments, the female voice served hot with the Spice as only Mæstro Antunes can !
Beautiful and very talented young ladies...oh and the guitarist is pretty good too. lol I always enjoy your music creations. Thank you for the inspiration and sharing it with us. 🎸
They’re absolutely darling!
I haven't heard a TON of your stuff, but it hasn't disappointed yet. You have a real knack for uplifting the original piece, not super "showy", but just serving the music. Real good stuff, and these two young ladies have absolutely gorgeous voices. Cheers!
FAAAAAAARK YEAH 🤘😝🤘this is friggen AWESOME 🤩
I recon these 2 lovely ladies would be over the moon with what you did with their song, I would love to see their reaction. Have you or will you show them by any chance
Why they'll be over the moon? The original is far better, soothing.
@@brascoperryjoe6425 yes you’re probably right, the original song is more then likely nice & soothing, which is great thing, but I say I recon they would be over the moon, because it would be a true honour if something you wrote that Andre put his spin on it, cause let’s face it, he friggen ROCKS 🤘😝🤘
Beautiful!
Enough stuff to make it interesting and get the harmony working, but not too much to hide their wonderful voices.
Incredible bass!! 🎸 bravo
Brilliant. Also, there are plenty of Indian cuties in the world and they are a fine example.
I upvote first and then listen to your song, Andre. You brought more life to the original and the cover. Thanks to all 3 of you !!
They are so cute. The clap works so well.
This is what I wish hold music would sound like
This trick, using their hands , is magical
This is amazing and they are so pretty.
Its a beautiful planet with some beautiful people! ✌️😁
East Meets West.... Brilliant!
There's actually a really good CD that already exists with that name, I think there's 2 discs
That girl to the left has an incredible breath voice. The one to the right has a great lead, and would sound great with some grit to it if she so chose to sing.
Most impressive fist bumping on the table - interessting how they feel the beat. Rock on forever, Andre, ambassador of humanity and intercultural exchange \m/
As expected another flawless rendition
Goosebumps from the start. Wow!
Damn... I wish I had 1/10th of your talent.
Ask him how much he practices.
Brilliant! should do a full album with them :)
Those girls are beautiful ❤️
I love to hear vocal harmonies that are'nt based on western scales.
Pure beauty! Thank you so much for this music❤❤❤
Incroyable !!
Goodness gracious bro you off the chain man💯
that's a sweet sweet Elrick bass oooh!
great arrangement, Andre!
Awesome. Full length version into audio streaming and goooooo! (They would play that in the radio stations here in Berlin, I‘m sure.)
Yo that bass part was absolutely some of your best work. Excellent stuff, Andre.
and here comes again with another masterpiece....impressive!!!
What a Masterpiece!
Excellent work 😍
Magnificent ! Ty for sharing their and your talent !
After so many years this song just became worth listening to my ears...
I am absolutely mesmerized by this version. Great job as always!
The bass playing is superb!
This was quite awesome.
Incredible.... they sound like they share the same voice! Love the remix ;-)
they have great fist action
slapping like Geddy!!! love it.
Yes!!!
Brilliant!
Dude nice arrangement! Your Bass playing is massive! Big respect!
killing it on the bass in this one!
Great track !! Nice bass line too ;)
This would be an awesome Indian anime opening
Cool new bass man, Sounds sick!!
It's a sick bass! But he actually used it years and years ago for his all Muse Basslines video! Not sure why it's been out of vids for so long but awesome to see it!
excellent bass playing!
**Sees both singers left hands in perfect motion**
Ok, they have rhythm and good synchrony. From a musical perspective, of course.
Been waitin’.
You're definitely showing your bass chops here. Good song.
Simply amazing!!!
- Сколько раз вы хотите послушать это?
- Да!
That bass is badass
This song is a bop! Very nice!
By seeing him i remembered Yashraj Mukhate in India. He also makes songs using viral clips.
I even detected a bridge in this song...excellent
It's like Irish lilting...but Indian! Rad!!
