Had mine for some time now and still enjoy having it. My only minor issues are the corner of the cards getting chewed and beat up from the rails pretty quickly. Four cards seems to be a little more difficult to slide in and out, especially my Chase cards since the cards like the Freedom Unlimited and Flex still have the embossed numbers. So for now, I just stick with three cards in the back. The other issue is that if you have money in the compartment, it makes the back of the card hard to slide back in at times if you take the card in the back out first instead of the card in the front. Having a card in the back that you rarely use like your driver's license definitely helps. Other than that, it's a great wallet and I hope that they come out with a M1 variation for the attachment with different colors and possibly leather.
They need to make the rail a little bit larger and should diminish the rattling. Also with this wallet you must have 4 cards in it at all times or with only 3 cards they will fall off.
I really struggled between the A10 and the Rail wallet, both look awesome and functional .I chose the A10 because of the money cavity as I hate having cash Strapped or clipped on the outside of my wallet. Thanks for the review.
i wish the cover didnt have those striped grooves. i wish it was smooth all the way. i'd look at it everyday if it was. and PLEASE have the choice to have anodized black. it would be so nice.
Just bought my A10, can’t wait for it to arrive. I haven’t paid much attention to Dango wallets in the past, but this review has opened my eyes...they really have some neat stuff (I also like the M1 Rail and the R Spec line). I could definitely see collecting Dango products as a cool but potentially expensive hobby!
Oh boy, it's an expensive hobby for sure. The one thing that makes this Dango my favorite is that it's not super wide like the other metal models they have. It's a normal sized width.
@@walletopia I'm the market for an a10 and they have the titanium version out... a hefty $170 for just the base rail system though :/. Also, not sure if you have gotten a chance to try out the walnut backplate they have. Personally I can't really justify the extra $100 to myself for the material upgrade unless I was able to custom anodize it.
@@calebwooldridge242 Ouch, that's expensive and something I've been hearing is that the rail system tends to loosen over time, so the rattle noise we hear now gets worse as time goes on, so to invest that much money....hmmm, I would wait. That said, I haven't had a chance to look at the other materials yet, but plan to, I've waiting for them to come out with the leather.
@@walletopia They do have leather versions of the single pocket add-on as well as a leather "pull strap" card ejecting style single pocket add-on as well. Seems to be in just 3 colors though (dark brown/chocolate, black, and regular brown leather). Just a heads up if you didn't know and wanted to do something like a "Dang A10 accessories" review episode or anything.
I’ve had my A10 for a few weeks now. I really like it, but I did notice you have to be careful when inserting the top card or the rails can chew up your card. I’d love if they made a leather single pocket adapter.
That's the problem I had with my last wallet. Cheap ass wallet but still I couldn't use my cards after like a year. I was really hoping to avoid that with these. Did you have the cards in the sleeve or the metal part?
Searched youtube for weeks looking for a new wallet. Stumbled on your page and chose the dango because of you. Your commission check should be on its way
Now they have a new adapter called the pull pocket BUT when you pull on the tab the all adapter comes off if you don't hold it AND if you hold it in the center you are putting pressure on the cards making it more difficult for the tab to work . Now if they invert the tab then when you put the cards back inside the pressure will pull the adapter off. I think they need a small lock for the adapter that you can press to release and that might also fix the adapter rattling issue.
I’ve been carrying it every day for several weeks and I love it. I sent Dango three design modification ideas but they didn’t bother to reply. My main complaint is that I have to lift the edge of the top card up in order to fully insert it, otherwise it will get Hartland my up on the internal metal edges. Easy fix with slight change in milling process, but slightly irritating with the current design. Great wallet though.
I think it's great you took the time to send them feedback, I would appreciate that as a manufacturer. Hopefully they take it into consideration for future refinement!
the rail arms could be a little thicker to make card insertion quicker. i feel a little slow when im using it. i shouldnt have to think about putting something back in my wallet.
Its huge and it doesn't carry much. The rattling bothers me but what bothers me more is the card holder sometimes comes off in my pocket. I got the red one and although it looks cool the finish isn't the highest spec. A red sharpie takes care of the little dings and missed spots but rubs off relatively quickly.
Hey whats up! New subscriber here after finding your channel today and super curious if you'd let me test drive this for a week or two before I spent that kind of money on one?!
About the whole RFID thing, and whether it's not actually a thing any more. I heard that people were going round on subway trains with hidden card readers taking contactless payments. Is that still an issue, or just an urban legend?
the main metal area eats cards (damaged my apple card),, if you try to put in one at a time, so i only put ID’s in that location, i also dont know y the DTEX card holder needs the lip, it is tight enough to hold the card or cards securely but the lip makes it a pain to get the bottom card out , if you add the money clip it is fine on the single sleeve but to big for the bifold, all they had to do was slim the clip down so it can fold easier in the bi-fold model
I just received mine. I really like it. But the card holder does slide off really easy. I emailed them to see if that is Normal or if it's defective. This is my 2nd dango wallet. I really like their stuff.
In the last wallet I had, I had a huge issue with the wear on the cards and wearing off the numbers and warping the cards to the point at which they wouldn't work. Does this wallet wear on the cards like that???
I don't know for sure, but I'll take an educated guess based on the slide and rail system. The entry heads flex so both sides of the card flow in with little pressure on the sides of the card once in place. I see numbers wearing off on all kinds of wallets (when embossed) but I don't see anything in particular with this wallet that would accelerate that wear and tear from this wallet.
@@walletopia thanks for the reply! I was doing some more research and it looks like even people only having this wallet for a couple of weeks had an issue of the cards being "chewed up" when inserted in the rail slot and other areas. I would imagine however that they would be fine in the sleeve add on. I forget what the material was called. Thanks again for your help and great vid!
I had an issue with this wallet when it arrived. The company stripped 2 screws during assembly. It made it had to get the screw out to change the face plate. I contacted the company and they said since I damaged the face plate (despite them being the reason) and not sending it in, they wouldn’t honor anything. No support phone number makes them seem shady too.
I dont understand how this or any other hard sided wallet is comfortable to carry. It doesn't conform to your pocket at all. Its like carrying a brick. Plus if you keep in the same pocket all the time like most people do it will wear a hole through the material from the constant friction. So explain to me how this type is better than leather
They officially say 5, but I was able to get 2 cards, instead of just 1 in the single card accessory. Overall I had 7 cards and felt I could get 1-2 more in the DTEX accessory.
I’m sorry, I can’t stand Dango products and bought enough of them to say that. The one here is the screws always strip if you remove them and put them back in. I had to tighten them because the friction with the slider did not work for me and constantly loose the slider in my pocket. I bought enough Dango to say I have had bad luck with them. I like that they are US made but still I will have to pass.

Hi Alfonso, thanks for the question. Personally I prefer minimalist wallets so that's where I'd start. If you need something that can handle cash and you're okay folding your notes, then any wallet will do just fine. If you're picky about only wanting to fold your cash once or not at all, then a cash wrap wallet is good. Thanks Eamon, yes metal wallets do have an impact on what you carry with them, potential damage if you’re not careful.
Bought one but still prefer Ridge.
Ridge’s capacity is much higher and essentially accomplishes the same feature set as this Dango so it really does come down to preference.
