    God bless you ❤🙏

If you thought this costume was odd, I guess you missed the famous "swan dress" Bjork wore to the 2001 Oscars! Seriously, Bjork is one of the most original and experimental singers ever--her name is synonymous with Iceland--and her music, back in the 1990s was acclaimed all over the world. You can see and hear her sing in Lars Von Trier's film Dancer in The Dark. I haven't listened to her for a long time but my favorite song featuring her ethereal, unmistakeable voice was All Is Full Of Love. You're a good sport to be blindsided by this "quirky" iconic artist in a performance way past her heyday!

Björk is famous and was probably more well known in the 90s. She is held in high regard by many musicians for her innovative and unique approach to making music and singing. She is a composer, producer, vocalist, actress and DJ (sure there’s more to add) and visual elements play a large role in her performances, especially if it echoes nature. Her first album came out in 1977 when she was a child in Iceland. She studied classical piano and flute and brings in unconventional vocals to her music often seen as against the grain.
Her music albums range from jazz, electronic, choir based - pretty hard to define. She is considered regularly to be ahead of her time and adventurous, often inspiring other artists to produce similar a few years later. People are usually either all in or all out with her.
She isn’t for everyone but is generally held in high regard, often called a musician’s musician or respected for being adventurous and ahead of the curve, with many popular new artists citing her as an inspiration.

A lot of her most recent album is about the loss of her mother

Well… Vulnicura was written about the divorce and fracture of her family with her ex-husband Matthew Barney, but Vespertine which Unison came from, was the album when she met and fell in love with the artist Matthew Barney.

Bjork deals so much with heartbreak, mania, depression etc in her earlier work but I’m loving aging with Bjork and finding her recent music to be about death, transformation, aging, transition of time

She has vocal damage and polyp surgery which is why she sounds like that now. If you better want to hear what Bjork was all about listen back to earlier stuff, like The Sugarcubes from the 80s and her 1st 3 solo.albums, debut post and homogenic.

you said her singing was choppy but kep in mind she's been scream singing in bands since she was 11. its a wonder she even has a voice left! you should listen to a performance of hers from the early 2000's, that's when she was really in her stride,

Her singing is choppy, in a good way though! She doesn’t use legato and prefers to sing with staccato and glottal stops

@@gxngy6612its a very traditional thing in Iceland to use an almost speaking voice but also sort of sing-song, especially in story telling. Björk’s delivery is pretty unique though. Though she has a wide range and can go between a head and chest voice easily, from talking to belting out a note, her singing and delivery very atypical. It can be a jolt for new listeners.
