Unfortunately in LA there aren’t cheap discount grocery stores like in my hometown (Paramount). I spend no more than 100 at Trader Joe’s but i know that if I shopped in my hometown I’d get triple the amount of groceries with the same amount of money. You can spend very little in places like Pavillions or Trader’s if you know how to shop - just buy what you actually eat on a daily and not buy random shit you know will just sit in the fridge for days

  • @MarniMedia

It's so true that in LA there are grocery stores on every block! I live in West LA, and 1 major street north of me, there is a 24 hr Ralphs that's adjacent to a Trader Joe's. 1 major street south is another Ralphs and a Whole Foods. A few major streets east, there's a Vons and another Trader Joe's, and about 1.5 miles to the west, there's yet another Trader Joes! LOL :-) Side note: Trader Joe's generally isn't expensive, but it *can* be if you're not careful. They have a lot of snacks that are around $4-$7, but if you look at how much you're getting, it's literally like 2 ounces.

It’s always hard to agree with you on food and grocery budgets. If you enjoy food and care about the quality, it’s not cheap. You said in another video that you don’t remember the last time you ate veggies. If you ate fruit and veggies, they’re not cheap! (Especially organic). I probably spend $80-120/week because I’m pescatarian and eat mostly fruits and veggies. keepinitsk8a definitely not I live in Houston where housing is pretty affordable, but minimum wage is also $7.25 which is almost half of what the minimum wage in LA is. Also in LA there is a decent amount of housing under $1000, so like I said before if there’s a will there’s a way.

@Lesley Riley Yeah I do. But she works during the summer cause she gets bored. Uses the same lesson plan each year. Maybe grades 10 hours a week. and is at school from 7 - 4 so that is about 55 hours a week (including grading). Not bad if you don't work during the summer!

A little drop of honestly here from a bargain shopper. Many things at Trader Joe's are cheaper than traditional grocery stores, sprouts and whole food are VERY pricy. For example, bananas are only 19¢ a piece at traders, where as most other store are 24-29¢ a piece. Just wanted to share 🤷🏼‍♀️

    • @mainchannel1566

Trader Joes is the most affordable grocery store around. Not only is it fresh, you get organic produce and products for the same price as a standard grocery store and usually comes out less. My grocery budget with TJ is only $35 a week for a single woman.
