I’m deaf. This is awesome thank you This is the first ASMR session I have ever seen for the deaf by anyone and I’ve been watching and looking for ASMR for years
Yo, if you're looking for a fairly deaf-friendly ASMR channel, check out Karlie Flowz ASMR. Her videos are all (or nearly all) hand focused. Idk what to call her exactly, like...a hand artist...? She does some very flowy hula hoop stuff on occasion too. Some of her videos don't show her face at all, so there isn't the distraction of trying to read her face. Another one to check out is Tabuhan ASMR. His isn't as hand-centric as Karlie Flowz ASMR, and it does show his face. But his videos are really calming, with calm motions toward and away from the camera. And I'd read somewhere....either a random comment on here or maybe Reddit..that someone deaf said they had gotten tingles from his channel. I thought that was cool :)
I usually watch and listen to ASMR to fall asleep, but I'm sharing a room with my 4-year-old nephew, so I can't make to much noise or else he might wake up (and not fall back asleep). I'm so glad that something like this exists! It's like that phenomenon where something is made for one group of people, but multiple groups benefit - for example, sidewalk ramps. The were made for people in wheelchairs, but people with bikes, people with strollers, and people with other wheeled things find them useful as well! (My point being, this was made for Deaf people, but can be helpful for others too, like HoH people and people trying not to disturb roommates.) I should stop typing, watch the video, and go to sleep. 😅
Off topic, but, could you possibly ask your brother if he can still hear it when his ears ring like we do when its really quiet? You don'r have to, but I am just curious
@@whatwhatwhatwhatwhat9013 he said he can't really hear it per say, but he can feel it He said it tickles sometimes and gets annoying I would say it's the equivalent to our ears ringing in complete silence
I grew up and live in a deaf community and your signing is very good especially for a beginner, I am sure if you continue to learn you will be signing fluently in no time. Thank you for making your ASMR available to everyone. 👍🙌
Hey, Jojo! Showed this video to my mostly deaf mother and I figured I should pass along the sort of 'pointers' she brought up as she was watching. Mostly, they boil down to 'watch how much is actually going in the video'. When there was too much going on, such as the fact you have gloves on or extremely rapid movements, it can be hard to focus on what you are actually doing with your hands in a calming manner enough to get the ASMR feeling. Having your face in the background was a MASSIVE point as she, and I imagine many other deaf folk, focuses on faces most because they trained to watch them, and sometimes specifically the mouth, for understanding what is being said. It's just ingrained. As a result, whenever your face was in full view and the characteristic Jojo mannerisms were on full display with wide smiles and other funky faces, it was near impossible for her to relax and watch your hands. Again, just a little feedback I figured you might like from an actual deaf person, even if they aren't 100% deaf. Keep up the wonderful work!
I like the fact that youre giving constructive criticism and trying to help him improve his videos etc in such a polite way, just remember hes gone to a lot of effort to make this video specifically for people who get "excluded" from communities like this so we need to appreciate how hard hes already working too and how amazing the video already is :)
@@elliem3415 constructive criticism is always good, and with that he can improve a lot. I'm not deaf but I'm actually interested in what a video would look like after such constructive feedback from Cloak and other viewers.
Not all ASMR is tingly noises in fact ASMR isn’t even mainly noise it mostly about the tingles a image or sound or even movement gives you and this is exactly one of those
Man you're literally the sweetest asmr creator ever, I don't belong to the deaf community but my maternal granny is deaf like completely and it felt so good you doing something for this community
This is amazing! I'm Deaf, and the tingles were wonderful. Thank you so much for thinking about us! Some constructive criticism if anyone cares: maybe use fluffy and soft looking things in visual triggers, because Deaf people can definitely see/"feel" it and that in itself is extremely relaxing. I only state this because the gloves were slightly throwing me off.
ASMR stands for “Autonomous Sensory Mouradian Response”, so I like the fact that Jojo is helping all kinds of people and that he is doing Visual ASMR and not just the Standard sound ASMR. And I hope Jojo does more like this!
My deaf friend had triggers for the first time and he wanted me to say "thank you a lot Jojo, not many people do that for us" to you. You just made my friend's day since he got bullied at school. He appreciates you and loves this video of yours. Edit: We recently tried a new method where he would watch an asmr video and i would slighty massage the area around his ears to see if he would relax. It didnt really work but it was worth the try
I like to watch visual triggers because I only have working headphones for one ear. Check out Gibi’s black and white series of visual triggers their really cool.
Those are tingles Science definition: tingles are when you feel comfortable warmth feeling down your head or down your back most people like the fealing some don't.
Jojo: Forgets to turn on mic Also Jojo: Let's turn this into ASMR FOR DEAF PEOPLE All jokes aside very good video and thankyou for being so thoughfull.
As a person who can hear, I didn’t understand it in the beginning about how hand movements can make you relaxed, but halfway through I did. Normally I only listen and put my phone away so this was something new✨✨
My brain can’t process words and sounds as fast as others can. This was really helpful because sometimes it’s frustrating when I can’t process these things. Thank you Jojo :)
I really do think the asmr community is the most creative on RUclips. You guys really should all be up for a nobel peace prize for the amount of peace and love you put into the world
For those actually wondering how they got tingles. Short answer, it's visual triggers. Long answer, your brain is reacting to the visual triggers in the same way it would with sound. It's still ASMR and stimulates your brain, just in a different way. Without sound, it gives you room to think about what you aren't hearing so you can actually process what it is that you're seeing.
This is my favorite comment section on youtube. Everyone's talking about ASL or their experience going deaf, in the deaf community or with deaf people and eople enjoying ASMR. It's so wholesome and feels like a real safe space 🥰

The power of this video is that it has an affect even in non-deaf persons. This is amazing. As someone who can still hear, I have no idea what's it's like to experience what you're going through, so I'm very glad you guys can enjoy this video 🤍 edit: sincere apologies for wording this weirdly!! I'm now aware that it could've sounded better and not sound like I said it out of pity :/ Hope everyone's doing good :)
As someone who is deaf but can usually get tingles from ASMR videos anyways, this one has me on the FLOOR! I love other normal asmr videos, but this one feels like it was tailored to me! (Well im deaf so I guess it was lol) I tend to go for videos with visual triggers since i don't want to have to put it on the highest volume - I don't wear my hearing aid for bed - but people don't focus on them as much as the sound aspect, even if that's what they've put in the title (which fair enough, asmr is usually about sound, i guess). So this one is exactly what I'm looking forrrr!!! It has the visual triggers and NO SOUND! Which means I (1) don't have to put it on the highest volume so as to be able to hear it properly and not miss out on the ☆~experience~☆ and (2) don't have to strain my ears to hear everything if i don't have it blasting and waking my family up. Because this shit ain't got! No! Sound! I'm unreasonably excited about this but idk I've been watching asmr for so long now and I cant wear earphones due to my condition so I have to play them out loud but then I have to play them really loud to hear them cos any quieter and it won't be relaxing cos I'll have to focus to hear/understand wtf they're doing or saying and people don't EVER really make asmr where it's just visual triggers like as in GOOD visual triggers that are MEANT to be watched without sound and not meant to just enhance what you're already listening to and yeah. Big ramble but long story short, love it, would definitely watch again, keep up the good work king
By posting this video, Jojo has proven, once again, the type of person that he is. He actually cares about his followers no matter what. He's kind and sweet and very hard working. I love it♡ Thank you so much

@@AlfieAlpaca she said its adorable because unfortunately not many people are thoughtful enough to do such things, since it takes much more time and effort, like for example here jojo learned sign language, although he only learned to do couple of sentences, he still put effort to memorize the hand gestures, something simple but yet many people wouldn't even think of doing it since its more simple for them to just talk or just write text on the video.

(My point being, this was made for Deaf people, but can be helpful for others too, like HoH people and people trying not to disturb roommates.)
I should stop typing, watch the video, and go to sleep. 😅

This deserves more attention, precious feedback.
That’s very ool
I like the fact that youre giving constructive criticism and trying to help him improve his videos etc in such a polite way, just remember hes gone to a lot of effort to make this video specifically for people who get "excluded" from communities like this so we need to appreciate how hard hes already working too and how amazing the video already is :)

I'm not even deaf but I've always loved searching up visual trigger videos. They always effect me better than sound triggers. This video is great!!

As someone who is deaf but can usually get tingles from ASMR videos anyways, this one has me on the FLOOR! I love other normal asmr videos, but this one feels like it was tailored to me! (Well im deaf so I guess it was lol)
I tend to go for videos with visual triggers since i don't want to have to put it on the highest volume - I don't wear my hearing aid for bed - but people don't focus on them as much as the sound aspect, even if that's what they've put in the title (which fair enough, asmr is usually about sound, i guess).
