Good video, thanks! I scanned livestream thinking an 02 was bad, so I replaced the LF sensor then rescanned only to find I misread the info.. but it seems to run better. I guess if you throw enough parts at it you eventually get lucky. lol
You speak good English, thank you for this video, I'm going to try this because my van won't stay started when I cold start but when it gets warm it runs good. Mucho gracias amigo 🙏🏽
i have a similar model with idling problems, it had a faulty seal on the fuel filter, and somehow get rusty sludge in the bottom of the gas tank... the fuel filters burn out, replaced it twice.. insufficient, unless your able to clean out or replace the entire gas tank... thanks for the tip about the oxy sensor!
You gotta drop the whole tank out and clean it out with some shaking around, and a little clean gas. Maybe a gentle wire brushing after you empty it out and let all the fumes evaporate for a while so you don’t start a fire
Good morning. I have a 2001 Chevy Astro. I have similar issues as you. Cleaned my EGr valve, ran better, but now it shakes at idle. I'm getting po174 which Is system too lean in bank 2. There are 2 O2 sensors on the right side, should I just replace both?
Well done and great ideas I hope that the translation for the Arabic language will be activated so that interested Arabs will be attracted and they are supportive of the channel. Thank you my friend
my 98 astro started runing rough at idle after engine fully warmed up, obd2 codes P300 and P302 misfire generic and cylinder 2 misfire, reolaced spark plugs doing the same...
@@smokenbudesq Look at all the time and money spent on troubleshooting and parts. A good mechanic with a scan tool would have found that issue fairly quickly. Even with my $100 scan tool I can see if an O2 sensor is working or not.
@@Deucealive75 it's a 95 bud, finding a scan tool for obd1 that has live data, let alone someone that actually still has one is extremely rare. He also mentions he took it to a mechanic that told him to kick rocks after throwing parts at it.
I just bought the throttle position sensor for my van today but have not put it on the throttle body yet. did you replace the auto position sensor yet? And if so did it fix it?
@@WiKiTWoNKa I bought it but didn't install it. But I wound up replacing the o2 sensors cause it thru a code and it did help the idle. Still runs rough. Thinking it needs a tune up as well cause it's also miss firing to.
@@clamo6362 well what's going on with mine is that I can cold start it and it will rev up for about 20 or 30 seconds and then when it wants to idle down it doesn't idle it just chokes out so then I will just start it and I will hold the throttle for about 30 seconds and then I will slowly bring it down to where it is idling and hold it and then let it go after about a minute and then it will stay idled and then after the motor gets warm and runs about 15 minutes then it revs up really high for about 5 or 10 seconds and then it chokes out and cuts off and then it won't start until it cools off after about 10 or 15 minutes. It's getting plenty of gas but it's like it is flooding because the choke is not opening or something even though it is a throttle body it just acts like the choke is not opening and that I think is where the throttle position sensor is messed up. At least that is what I have been told by about three people so I bought it tonight and sometime maybe tomorrow or Sunday I'm going to put it on and I will let you know if it fixes it and if it does then maybe that's what you need to do for yours. also the timing may need to be set for yours I had the timing set on mine the very first thing I took to the garage and he said that it was not off maybe by a degree or two.
If you go to AutoZone or one of the auto stores they will have a code reader that they can plug into your van and it'll tell you what the problem is . it tell you a code with what wrong n it plugs in just below your steering wheel
Thank you! I learnt that lesson in 1989 , stupid I, bought a 1980 Chevy Malibu, problem after problem. My next vehicle a 1990 Toyota which I've owned since then and still runs like, no shit! I have a 2000 chevy 1500 pick up with 619k miles n haven't done anything but changed oil regularly 3 waterpumps and numerous fuel pumps and it will drag ur montero 2 the scrap yard

Same issue, same year

Same happened with mine, changed the injector distributor sensors
Try change the spark plugs n the wires... My car did that more so when it rain out. The wires was bad...
Thanks Hector
My Astro shakes in idle. I have been hunting for the culprit, but have not tried the O² sensor.
Thanks brother. You chose a good subject to adderess. I'm shure you have helped out alot of people. ✌ peace

So.... I'm asked if I'm shure in my comment, hell yea I'm shure. But I know most people never get it. But thats ok. Just stay out of the garage??

I really think it will fix the problem thank you bro
Thank you for your video I have a SAFARY and this is a good advice
hector was your engine light on . Because mine is having the same issue but no engine light ?
please help
No engine light on My van
Would a scanner you plug into your vehicle have found the problem?
My first guess when I heard the symptoms - happened to my 95 Ford van

Its stuck in over drive. I had a car that did that. Unplug the plug for the over drive

What about other languages?
I don't have a catalytic converter anymore
My van has 2 sensors I believe, do I disconnect both or just one?
Is this the reason my Astro van shakes an idle real bad?
Most likely if your van is running lean
Thank you, so much!
Thanks !! I'll try that in the morning lol

What if you just left the sensor out and didn’t replace it?
If you did that, your car would starting running lean and eventually clog your catalytic converter.
Thank you bro thank you
Also clean your EGR valve. That cured mines.
From what it sounds like it would have been cheaper to take it to a mechanic in the first place.
IN WHICH WAY?

Dam this didn't fix my rough idle. I'm gonna try the throttle pos sensor. Replaced the air idle sensor and didn't fix it ether.
