I played both the ZX7 MKII and the Callaway TCB alternating, last year, and loved both for different reasons. TCB's are not all that different from the Apex Pro of this year. I kept the ZX7's, sold the TCB's, and I have a new set of T150's. Right now the T150s are not leaving the bag. The ZX7's are sitting in my backup bag in the garage because the T150's are just that consistent. They don't feel as good as the MKII's but they perform just as well and they flat out look amazing.
In this match up I’d go Titleist t100 because it’s a high performing club on tour, but the Apex Pro won’t be seen on tour so much from pitching wedge down. The Apex CB however… absolutely beautiful club feel to hit
Which one? Title…Mizuno…. LOL. Seriously though, the Titlelist for me out of these two, but it just made me think of Matt’s recent fitting video. There are so many little factors in choosing a club, the set up, your swing, how you’re hitting it that day… Sometimes I wonder how consistent we human beings are when it comes to dealing with as many variables as we do in golf. Thanks Mark! Always a great review.
I tried the T200's and the Apex equivalent. Went with the T's as i needed MORE spin, and they seemed to provide that little bit extra.. but loved them both, feel was exceptional.
I’ve tried both but ended up with the Apex Pro / CB combo. The feel just ended up jiving with me a little better on the Callaways but I was nitpicking. Honestly could’ve have gone either way
Mark, the T100 is their most "player-like" from Titleist where the Apex Pro is the least "player-like" of the Apex line. I think if you making a comparable the Apex MB would be the best comparison since it is still badged and not completely an MB. I also think the Miz 923 Tour or MP 223 could also be comparable.
@MarkCrossfield of course. But from a looks and feel I think they would be more similar, numbers wouldn't change due to lofts and similar construction. . I also think apples and pineapples are both delicious fruits and "apples" of sorts, but more like comparisons rather than insults is your specialty.
@@seegarsmkr It's fun watching golfers resite the marketing made-up stuff back in the comments; shows that these companies have many just where they want them. Nice. I would love to see apex pro 5 iron testing as that is where the tech changes. Am thinking apex CB to 6 the pro 5 iron. Love how callaway have made this release so blendable.
I prefer the look of the Callaway Apex Pro. But I would buy the standard upcoming Apex or DCB knowing I like the hosel a little too much with players clubs.

Tried both I went T100 . Apex pro were very good also . But titleist looks better in the bag. Tried T150 which were nice but went too far . Similar distance and spin to p790s
unrelated to this, but value your viewpoint ... if desire is to have a 4W (16.5), is it generally better to use a 15 degree 3W via adding loft to 16.5 to utilize a longer shaft for more speed at risk of some accuracy/potential hooking/draw bias or to use a 18 degree 5W via delofting down to 16.5 to utilize a shorter shaft for more control at risk of more open face/potential slice/cut bias? The framework is that my gapping may better fit a 4W and current club count potentially has room for only one wood. thx
It depends which way you prefer the face to look and ball to curve as delofting the club opens the face and adding loft closes the face. They are by small amounts a degree or something but thats how I would pick which I prefer. Of course test them is the easy answer to :)
I want to like the Titleist more from a looks perspective, but the fact that they did not chamfer the leading edge, and Callway did, means the Callaway's will perform in my usual Pacific Northwest ground conditions.
@@organictrader3261 it wasn’t that they were longer, they had more feel, and the front to back dispersion was tighter.. I'd assume for the better ball striker the cb will produce more consistent spin and yardage, although as hollow body tech improves that may not be an issue.
