Hey Christiaan! Soon it is one year i discovered your channel and i ended up putting all the time i have playing guitar into your teachings. I really enjoy all the content you put out! Finally i am ready for this one. It is crazy how much time i already spent watching your videos and practising and analysing the details of the Techniques you developed. Greetings from Switzerland

Wow dude, that is really really cool to hear. So how's it going with the guitar practice and are you happy with the results? Grtz!

@@ChristiaanvanHemert La Pompe is slowly getting smoother, but still hard to keep the rythm and not play too many long notes at the start of a chord-change :) With the Picking i am very happy and the 2-5-1 Series and "learn every jazz standard" did the difference for me. To use the Licks in different Keys is still a struggle as my eyes seem to deceive me with all the jumping around on the fretboard.
Double down strokes do still not work right at higher speed, so i tend to use a upslant sweep to cheat a few hard passages, but its coming as well. Overall i am already at a very different stage as i was one year ago, and to be able to learn one of my favorite songs now already makes me smile :)

I love Minor Swing. It’s the first piece I’ve learned completely by ear since I started gypsy jazz 5 months ago. I still can’t do the chromatic run (the second one) cleanly at full speed though. How Django can do that with 2 fingers is insane.

If you check my Instagram I have a short tutorial video in which I demonstrate a much easier way with the same effect!

Me too! I believe it's good to practice the original and try to push the envelope, but after a while find something that works, because in the end, you are going to play like you, and not someone else. 🙂

For the run two fingers are enough! ;-)

Great play and brilliant sound. Very well explained. A meeting with clarinet-expert Martin Schmidt-Hahn could be nice

how do I gain access to tabs? Does the 5 euro per month patreon include the full song tabs?

I hate to say this change, I hear Django quickly embellish the A on the E string 5th fret before he goes into the rest 7-5 4-5 7-5
    4-7 5 etc.
It’s lightning speed mili second still as I hear it slowed
And actually sit makes more sense to me with Django to me
    Feel free to correct me

Such a lovely tone! Can I hassle you for info on the guitar? No need I found it in the description before posting this comment!
Great stuff as always, much appreciated!
Holy shit, I'll stick with my ESP, those guitars are just a little bit massively out of my price range 🤣🤦‍♂️👍

Maybe you're looking at the vintage instruments? The Altamira guitars are pretty affordable, around $1000...

Mine is a top of the line Altamira, which is expensive for an Altamira but very cheap compared to a luthier built guitar and it is just as good, in some respects even better!

Great channel, transcription has a few wrong notes and tabs are not accurate to what and how you play, but nice channel.
