When will the league recognize that the thunder organization is good for the league? With viewership down, we play an entertaining brand.

We could go all day and night on all of the factors playing into the decline in viewership numbers. But I agree it is a missed opportunity by the NBA not to showcase one of the most exciting young talented teams in the league on Christmas.
The NBA has been far too reliant on stars like Lebron, KD and Steph. No guarantees that Shai, Chet or JDub will ever be draws like that trio. But you have to at least give them the chance by putting them on TV in these big games.

There is a simple explanation for the drop in NBA viewership, Adam Silver. Stern pushed quality, Silver has fallen into the tv network's (ESPN) big market trap.
Hoops junkies don't care where they get their BB fix, but they do care how high they get from that hit. Stern understood that. I realize this is a rough analogy so I'll put it another way. Think of basketball as BBQ. Stern took his guests to that Mom and Pop's joint that blew you away and Silver is selling out and settling for Chili's baby back ribs because he gets a kickback.
