That's what I was thinking. They friggin gave it to him and he was a bit brutal about some aspects of the wheel. Lol. I'd have to say that's real honesty
Great ride footage! Thanks for sharing. I wonder if the update is causing the pedal dipping on your Abrams? We have not done that update and we don't have any issues with pedal dipping.
Thanks for the impressions Adam! I’ve been thinking about the Abrams from a heavy rider perspective, but it seems like the torque just isn’t there. I initially liked the Commander, but the poor cooling makes it a big nope with me. Sherman Max is next for consideration, and I’m hearing good things. Looking forward to your thoughts once you get your hands on that wheel. Keep up the great work!
Nice overview, my Abrams doesn’t have that crazy pedal dip on acceleration/turns. The low speed maneuvering and acceleration is better to me than my Sherman. I crashed at around 35 mph (insane wobbles) while testing a pad setup but this thing is a tank, just has some chunky scratches.
@@samuelnew953 I get the impression there might even be different motors. Leaper Kim asked me for my motor code and then told me that firmware update is not required. I definitely don’t have the pedal dips that Wrong Way demonstrates.
I purchased an Abrams and had it about a week. Its top heavy, too slow, and uncomfortable to ride. On the upside, it can go up from the street to the footpath without bumping into the roll cage. Overall, I'd be disappointed if it was my only wheel but luckily I still have the Sherman.
My Abrams was horribly bouncy off-road, until I released some psi and then it was a dream to ride off-road. It was as if it had suspension, also the wheel is so stable I was able to do seated riding off-road, fancy that.
I wouldn't change the pedal angle to tip this far forward, just to avoid blinding others with the headlight. I would disable the headlight and use a flashlight instead, since tilt angle has a significant effect on the ride quality and makes the wheel much easier to overpower.
Can you share your thoughts on the Abrams vs the Monster Pro? I feel like these are the two modern wheels that people will be choosing between if they know how great a 22+" tire is.
Adam you ridden latest version MP24 I have latest batch and I can confirm there’s more low end torque than on a Sherman, and when pushed hard the MP easily matches the V12 on Acceleration, but the power is much more accessible on the V12
One thing I'm curious about with this wheel is how it matches up for tall folk. Would the positioning on the leg be better for us than smaller wheels? Would this give more control? Certainly, it's about the only wheel that I think I could comfortable ride seated. Thank you for this video. As always, really great to get a perspective that is about as uncolored as you could hope for.
I think it will work better for tall folk. I’m 180cm (5’11) and it’s just about ok for me but I imagine that with longer legs it would be a lot better as my knees would be over the shell.
I have one and do like it but am a little disappointed with the torque, it isn't bad but not as zippy as I thought it might be, this is exaggerated by my lack of ability to extract power, I'm hoping some aftermarket pads will help me. If not, I'm still very happy with my big boy cruiser:)
Adam, Are you getting a chance to demo the Sherman Max? I would like to see more on the Max while I'm waiting for the V13 specs and videos to come out!
Ride where you feel most comfortable. Not a wheel that attracts me, now the S20 on the other hand, or even the Sherman Max if we are talking Veteran. That dipping would drive me crazy.
Just a what they were thinking? They designed a offroad wheel which in practical use turns out to be a onroad cruiser. This difference makes it not being too good in any of it
So true After watching so many hours of videos about all the new wheels I realised I didn't want to be a beta tester, so just gave up on them all and bought a Sherman. It's an upgrade for me range wise and has been reliable for all my friends that own one.
@@Simonisms, it's also so much different if you got the wheel for free as 3rd or 4th versus you spend your yearly savings to get one and only wheel. Can't afford it going to service constantly or simply underperform.

I would keep flow with the traffic. Always do. Life is too short for keeping 50km/h being so easily vulnerable. BTW I wondered how do you recognize bad bearings.
So, you changed the pedal's angle to compensate for the high beam when you could have easily adjusted the lights themselves, which ARE designed to be adjustable by loosening the 2 screws holding them? Well done, Adam! ;) Also, I have the Abrams, and it doesn't have the soft pedal feeling in hard mode you described at all.
When I emailed LeaperKim directly about issues and updates, they asked me for the motor code. I sent it to them and they replied “firmware update not required”.
@@mr_wrongway I think this is a problem of such behaviour. They just rise tolerance and lowered accuracy off sensors reading. To avoid bad sensor positioning readings.
it's leatt dual axis. They're good but you have to get smaller size for them to really sit tight on you; and the clips that hold the straps break easily (but can be replaced with a stronger 3d printed model with a bolt)
I believe that the alarms set on the wheel should not be mixed with those set on the weller. this is why a wheel constituting only an alarm parameter of the wheel seems to me much safer and cannot diminish the importance of these
Re: riding with traffic etc …. I have mixed feelings and realize I’m likely in the minority. Here’s the deal: I think you’re right that going with the speed of traffic is safer than riding slower on the side and being passed without any type of bike lane at all. HOWEVER I worry greatly that this will cause negative perception of wheels and raise safety issues in cities over time which will risk the long term prospects of EUCs. I would much rather us all have a top speed of 30mph and adapt to the consequences (eg minimize riding on roads without bike lanes). But, it’s not a realistic wish on my part. The reality is the market continues to demand faster and heavier wheels. I wish it wasn’t the case, but it’s true.
But to add, I think it’s absolutely reasonable for car drivers to push back on us riding at 40+mph with the speed of traffic and going in between cars when as far as I know there are no insurance plans for wheels. What happens if you cause damage to a car? How will insurance work? Etc etc - just really messy and I wish we could sidestep the question by simply having slower wheels (and imo 30mph is not slow. Just slower) that change what we all see as viable options for where and how to ride the wheel.
@@seattleraf I imagine causing damage to car with EUC, would be same as you causing damage to a car via bicycle. However that's handled in your country 😅
Why did you start to record commentary in postproduction, not at the time of review? As your voice is calmer than during actually riding a EUC it seems like a bit less of action in video. But on the other hand, I guess you may become a bit fairer in terms of reviewing the ride quality as it's less emotionally affected. In terms of riding in traffic, I guess on EUC it's similar to riding on bike. So there are similar insurance issues and in terms of safety I would behave the same as bikers do - I wouldn't care about speed limits, only about my safety.

I feel the same way about my monster pro, low end torque is super bad. But it's a great cruiser
Thanks for talking me in to the v12. I had a choice of any wheel but the price of the abrams with some performance issues kept me away.
