Just ordered this, I'm in IT Security but wanted to grab this for some troubleshooting, because sometimes we spend way too long troubleshooting things (that we shouldn't have to under our job title but someone's done a half job somewhere) and I'm quite excited to get my hands on it. And I'm also unfortunately the entire extended families IT guy, most of which entails networking more than anything and this tool should help me spend less time fixing their problems and more time doing the little socialising I do.
Here is the report it sends to email. It usually sends it within 30 seconds or so. www.dropbox.com/s/y9gdrjm38q0wudb/Photo%20Jan%2015%2C%206%2022%2057%20PM.png?dl=0
Carlos Arturo Your right! I noticed that after I made the quick video so I posted the link to what the emailed result looks like in my first comment. The app and emailed results are awesome by the way. It arrives in my email within 30 seconds of the test. As far as online dashboard etc, to be honest we do t use that much. Since the unit doesn’t actually ‘certify’ drops per se, we use it as more of a super quick test to see if a drop is live or not. For that use it’s the best out there for the price bar none :)
This device just emails the results. Not srue if you mean the mfg app Link-LIve? That's the web portal that all the reports automatically go to. You just login on the web.
@@ComputerProMedia I was told that you have to use their cloud service and they charge $.10 per report. Once in the cloud it sends an email to you and you have the option to allow access to clients to view reports.
@@huronautodetailing Ours uses link-live.com by NetAlly. I can't find an area where they take payment for anything. We can view all our reports there as well as change any settings for the unit. I'm pretty sure it's all free.

Handy tool to test and validate network connectivity in less than 10 seconds!

would be cooler if it could connect to bluetooth and an app instead of ad-hoc wifi/email reports
You did not even review the hotsopt connection application for checking the test result and manage the reports.

@@ComputerProMedia If I want to save my results directly to my phone (not the LinkLive site), is that possible?
@@anyfoolknowthat Not that I know of. I believe the results have to go to Link Live. Link Live is free though.
Do they still charge per report?
Huron Auto Detailing I didn’t know they ever did? I get reports and have never paid anything.

@@ComputerProMedia Maybe they dropped it after taking it over from NetScout.
So, if you have one of these, does that mean you don't need a linkrunner?
I LinkRunner is a step up. That would be my first choice for sure. If the budget is tight, then I'd get the LinkSprinter instead.
Does it check for cable faults?
Robert C Yes, it won’t finish.
