    Thank you very much FESTO COMPANY for giving or gifting the skills and knowledge to our Electro Mechanical Technicians. Thank you also for sponsoring the Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati. I hope your business will continue to grow in order to implement up-to-date technology and digitalization for the next generation.

    Now it needs optic sensors and a way of triggering a response when it detects a specific movement (Such as the position of a hand or arm (In this case, putting two visibly different shapes together), indicating that you'll be reaching for a unique piece, which the software can identify based on the position of your hands. If done correctly, it can act as a 3rd arm which can retrieve an object (Such as a tool) from your workspace, that you'll be needing after the time it takes you to finish what your currently doing.

    I have seen and touched myself last November at SPS fair. It's realy a clever concept and made by a team with professional experience.

    I have a question regarding tool connection. I noticed in the video there's a cable on the exterior connecting the wrist flange to the tool. Is that for communication between the tool and the cobot? And if so, what type of cable is it? If it's not for tool communication, how does the tool communicate with the cobot?
    I'm developing a new cobot tool and I want to make it compatible with as many different cobots as possible, so I need to know how to connect my tool with, for example, this cobot.

    0:43 From where came the 7th degree ?! there is only 6 degree of freedom (translation & rotation) about X,Y and Z

    • @TheLeopard0
      @TheLeopard0 7 лет назад +1

      I guess they just counted the motors. This arm indeed has more degrees of freedom than a human arm. It kinda makes sense if you consider this:
      In the sphere that your fully stretched arm describes, you cannot reach every point with your hand. This robotic arm however... well, it can reach more. Its own elbow for example, you can't do that.

      rotation

    • @0LoneTech
      @0LoneTech 7 лет назад +1

      You're counting the degrees of freedom for the position and orientation of one rigid object. The robot arm is more than one piece; even if they were all in the same axis each joint has at least one degree of freedom, to build the pose of the entire robot. It might use more degrees to get the freedom to reach a given tool placement from several directions.
