He's more team oriented than Vergil and I think he does a bit better defensively with his DT. A vergil played optimally (landing all four perfect judgement cuts, etc.) outdamages him on his own, you really need to be playing all your fire units optimally for him to shine.
Also Nero detonates the brand stacks FoS provides also they revamped the exceed ability now it gives u 3 stacks instead of 1 at a time good for fire mains but EJ vergil still is and always will be the burst dps king
