Costas Cotsiolis was and still is a milestone in guitar history! The eastern-european guitar school and overal scene would not be the same without this influential guitarist. His legacy in students, festivals, and much more, is vast and speaks for itself. Sure, he has had better days, but so did Barrueco, Bream, Russell, and many other great guitarists that aged on the international stage... There could be a better video to represent him, but even so- one can see the great mastery!
How does the sheet music part of these performances work? Surely the whole piece isn't laid out on the music stand in front of him. The composition is simply too long. There is no one there to turn the pages. So, how does it work? Does he have the piece memorized and the music that is on the stand only basic cues?
@suxmdbab i feel very sorry for you! you're missing out on some of the greatest works! oh and by the way, isn't it funny? Bach, rameau and scarlatti never composed specifically for the guitar - what you think is so rightly the hallmark of classical guitar music are transcriptions, and not intended for the guitar (of course not to say that it doesn't sound good on the guitar, for it does :D )
@suxmdbab i wouldn't call the music of Barrios and Piazolla boring and unimportant though Bach is great. Barrios or Piazolla is another degree of emotion.

I saw Costsiolis when he was twenty and he was slim and an exceptional guitarist. Almost thirty years later he acquired a lot of body weight and bad musical taste.
what a great pleasure to hear the beautiful sound of the guitar enhanced by the best composer of all time

What a great interpretation ,indeed!
ΥΠΕΡΟΧΟ ΕΙΝΑΙ!!!

@letislana why? Cause he's not playing it lightning fast? It sounds very nice to me.

i prefer less tempo .. not so temperamental... vladimir Tomcanyis interpretation is for me top...
he so needs to clean the fingerboard of his guitar hahahaha
@Freddythemonk
It disappeared to his gigantic stomache. lol
athlio!
He must listen john williams first and then decide again if he plays live barrios!!! Good guitar sound but the rest......He needs work.
Looks like someone forgot how to trim their nails.
This man isn't a good guitarist but a good Mason sure..
