    I just went in United airlines yesterday and it was a long flight…all the way to Korea and it was so uncomfortable and everything you said in this video was true

      For sure. Definitely go with one of the international airlines next time, maybe korean air

    OMG- I will be on a United flight from SFO to Narita in a couple of weeks and I’m thinking about just getting a sandwich or salad from one of the vendors/restaurants at the airport then…. So glad that I have stumbled upon your video! Thanks for sharing 😊

    The 777 economy seats on United may be the worst of every seat config on that plane . The 777 was designed for 3-3-3 seats but airlines cram an extra one in , making the economy seats insanely narrow . I think United puts the smallest and narrowest seats on their 777 out of any airline

      Dam, that’s mind blowing, I thought it was meant to be 3-4-3😅😢😂

    Hey Sam, I can completely relate to your experience traveling from SFO to KIX this past summer. This was my first international flight in eight years, eight! Unfortunately, I quickly encountered some issues with my flight experience. The flight attendants snapped at customers during meal service, urging us to make decisions quickly, and their attitudes were generally poor.
    As an aisle seat passenger, it was frustrating when the flight attendants consistently bumped into my elbow without any apologies. The plane felt quite old, but at least the other passengers were mindful enough not to crash into me. After this experience, United would be my last resort for traveling out of the US.

      Glad I’m not the only one who had a similar experience. Going to try not to fly with them internationally again, I didn’t have a choice in this situation as my original flight was on ana. For domestic flights on United tho, I don’t mind.

      When you fly United, please expect nothing but the worst. I mean it. There was one time, people were lining in front of a lavatory. One of the cabin crews was going back to the galley with her troley. She didn't care and about to hit all the people in that line without saying anything 😅. There was one time, a cabin crew was drinking while serving drinks. And the list goes on 😅

    Really good review, but I wouldn’t put all North American carriers in the same bucket Sam. I’ve done cross Atlantic and cross pacific on dozens of carriers. Unless you get an empty seat next to you none is especially comfortable in economy. Jal has one less seat across than most carriers so kudos to them - and their food is good. My biggest tip? Use seat guru to find you a better seat.

    Your review of the inflight crew is spot on. They're miserable. Even on domestic flights.

    Hey Sam! Im 6'5 and im planning to buy a Economy seat from Canada to Tokyo, Haneda what do you think? Its 1370$ instead of the 1700$ i would pay with Delta or Air Canada

      I am assuming you are talking about flying with United? At your height, please consider Japan Airlines or ANA. Or premium economy, if you have the means to afford it. It is an extremely long flight and you want to make sure you’re comfortable

      Take the cheaper option then. I ran into this girl in Japan who flew from Florida to Tokyo for like $900 in the summer with Zipair. She said it there was white stuff falling from around the overhead bin space but other than that it was fine, lol

    • @FictioNTheFirst
      @FictioNTheFirst 20 дней назад

      @ yea my United flight is about 930$ USD and 1300$ CAD so really isn’t too bad at all it’s really the space that I’m worrying about mostly but I think if I just sleep the whole time I should be fine and just take an aisle seat or something to stand up often

    • @samswallet
      @samswallet  20 дней назад

      @ yeah aisle seat for sure. You’re going to need to stretch your legs every 4-5 hours, going to be uncomfortable but it’s the most affordable option

    What happened with your flights that you got stuck in Economy? Could you not have booked an alternative Premium Econ or Business?

    • @samswallet
      @samswallet  Месяц назад

      Well I booked 2x award economy tickets for ANA. Finding award availability forpremium econ and business class award flight is very difficult to find in the middle of summer, many airlines close this off. During a cancellation like this, you take what you can get, all that was available was United flights unfortunately. I’ve seen other youtubers get downgraded to premium economy when they booked business class after a flight cancellation

    I usually fly EVA premium economy to Asia. I just got back from Japan, August 4-12 and I flew JAL economy, only because I booked back in March and got a fantastic deal on the vacation package. I flew on the 787 round trip and JAL’s economy section, in my opinion, is comparable to EVA’s premium economy.

    Hi Sam, I can appreciate your point of view. I in fact have traveled on United a lot. However, the issues with regard to the staff seem to be isolated issues and happen once in a while. Almost all of the crew that I have come across are nice. I have had one case where there was an issue but I could have also handled it better. At the end of the day it is a crap shoot some times you will be happy some times you won't. I have never been disappointed on my travel with United.

    • @samswallet

      @@arigould2777 I guess I wish they were consistent. United is my preferred domestic airline since I can get so much value from them with points. But the times I have flown (Spain & Japan) with them internationally were not good experiences.

      @@samswallet I can fully agree with you on the Domostic side. It may be that the crew flying those fights are not the best. I have flown to Israel and London on them and never had an issue with the crew. We have had other issues including the fact that they just where not offering veggie meals at all. However, I have never had a bad experience with them. Hopefully, your experience gets better.

    United Airlines, (like Delta, and American), spend their money and energy on their business or first class sections, (whatever their individual marketing departments wish to name them), and to hell with the schleps in the back. My experience in "premium" area of coach/economy is just a few points better, but with the same crappy seats. For the woman who didn't pre-order a veggie meal, she SHOULD have picked up stuff in the airport, no matter how pricey it is. I'm not excusing the F/A's rude behavior. And you are spot on in preferring almost any other countries airline for international travel in coach. That being said, even in a US carries business/first cabin on an international flight, you can still run into weirdly rude cabin crew.

    • @samswallet

      Thanks for the insight, what a strange airline to be honest. They really don’t seem to care about their customer’s flight experience in economy tbh. Kind of sad, they probably don’t care since their flights are always fully booked

      This is deep rooted in the service culture in the US in general, not just airlines, but also hotels, restaurants, etc. There is always a night and day difference in quality of services and facilities. Look at the breakfast offerings at most hotels in Asia and compare that to the crappy free breakfast at places like Holiday Inn Express in the US. No comparison. Then you hear people say, US is the best country in the world. Makes you chuckle.
