If a season five of Arrested Development came out I would probably cry!! Also I hope it'll be good because more times than not, when rights are given away, shows go downhill
I would love to see Season 4 edited chronologically, but it won’t make any difference unless he also cleans it up. My wife and I abandoned Season 4, about ten minutes into episode 5, when it became apparent that R-rated language would be the norm. Here’s a tip, Mitch: if it wouldn’t make it onto network TV, it won’t be making it into our home. If it would, it will probably earn a place on our shelf, beside the Season 1-3 DVDs.
Different people have different opinions on how acceptable such language is, but what upset me about it's usage was how it just took all the humour out. One of my favourite things about whenever the character would swear in the original series was how, in addition to bleeping it out, you'd never actually see them say it due to something always obstructing the view of their mouths - kinda like the old Austin Powers bit where different objects would cover up his wang so we couldn't see it. They just took that joke out because there wasn't a network to tell them otherwise, and in this case, forgot about the humour.
True,*****, but the point remains that the first three seasons were much cleaner than the fourth. Bring it in line with the other three seasons, and it would be great.
The problem is that they got a little overexcited by the platform, and less about preserving what the show *was*, as is clearly evidenced by the move to character specific episodes with a weird narrative structure. The re-edit sounds like it's designed to bring the show back in line with the original run, what with it being chronological and all. Hopefully in this transition they make it shorter and snappier like the original, too.
i recently watched the first 3 seasons and you're sorely mistaken. the first season is filled with swear words including the F word. they just bleep it out because its a network. the writing was the same as it ever was, maybe even slightly LESS crass than the original series
Love this interview - how'd you get this interview set up? Just asked? He's great to listen to with his stories.
Original season 4 cut is vastly superior. I'm sorry that so many people rejected it
If this went on forever I would watch every night. For the rest of that amount of time.
Damn I was literally thinking to myself how the f did he come up with the Sitwell standpoor thing and you asked it!
6:34 Good idea to retell it chronologically. As someone noted, he "made a huge mistake"///////////////

Playing a game a catch? Keep your arm up... that's how you get accuracy.
Sweet!
Y'all misspelled "pretentious" (2:57)
We've made a huge mistake...
Look at error, Michael!
