i really don't like how the app connect is something people have to go to the dealer for. Does that mean that if an iphone is connected via the USB, apple car play won't appear/function. Or is the app connect different from apple car play?

cool vid...I still cannot find where you input the post code on the nav?.. I think this unit is fantastic with so many options. ..app connect is very good as you can use Google maps if you have a large data plan.
I also think the raido reception is not good on this unit signal drops and the fm too...I may have to install a proper dab aerial. ...very bad for a vw factory fitted unit.
Go in to the Nav page, tap on the 'New destination' button in the bottom left, then click in the street name box. You should now see a button in the bottom left marked something like "PstCde" (I can't remember exactly), just tap that and enter the postcode you want to go to. Bear in mind that it does need the space to be included though (i.e AB12 3CD, not AB123CD).
Horrible system, VW ignoring the blank screen issues that owner of this system have. Dealers want to gouged you for diagnostic, have no idea why it behaves this way and ask you to shell a $1200 for new system...CarPlay connect once in 10 attempts until it stops connecting completely. This has left a bitter experience with me, getting red of our Tiguan and will never buy a VW ever again.
