  • Harry Redknapp wants to get straight back into management following his sudden exit from Tottenham.
    Redknapp, who had 12 months to run on his contract, left his position at White Hart Lane after being told by chairman Daniel Levy he would not get a new deal.
    And the 65-year-old has no plans to retire, according to Sky Sports' Jim White, who has spoken to Redknapp.

    Unfortunately Harry didn’t do himself any favours and he was very vocal about the England job as well as the court trial around the same time, however I don’t agree he should have been sacked, he did everything he could and we had a good side. Levy did he usual and stitched up his manager by not supporting Harry financially in the transfer market. As he said himself not long ago. He wanted Tevez, Suarez, Hazard, Courtois, to name but a few. Who did we get - Louis Saha & Ryan Nelson 🙄🤷🏼‍♂️

      I meant 3rd place then, Spurs were well ahead (12pts) of arsenal and Redknapp got thinking about the England job even tho he hadn't even been interviewed for the job.... He just threw it and that's why he got the tintac....... Looking back, Levy should have taken the media melodrama out of the situation by going public and saying if Harry is offered the England job he wouldn't make a issue out of it... And just go about getting a replacement.... But no, it was left hanging, with the media going on an on about it, and it definitely affected the players... Have a look at the results in the last quarter of the season.... The confidence just drained away from the players... Spurs should have finished 3rd comfortably.

    Fantastic manager. Top 4 playing free-flowing attacking football. Much better than they are now at the end of the 2020/21 season, eh. Levy let his ego get the better of him - he got butt hurt that Harry had considered taking the England job (if they'd given it to him) over Spurs. As it was, he wasn't so it should just be "keep calm and carry on." Instead Levy fired him because his ego was hurt that Harry had considered something else.

      Your missing the point, he let a 10pt lead slip, he let the momentum go from the team.. (yeah he finished 4th but should have finished 3rd) He let talk of the England job interfer with the job at hand which was making absolute sure Tottenham Hotspur Football Club finish high in the table as possible, which should have been 3rd place... If you study the last third of the 11-12 league campaign (or can remember) the results show he wasn't on the job there was a lack of desire to finish 3rd and above arsenal. It was a lacklustre finish.

    • @johnmacaroni105
      @johnmacaroni105 3 года назад

      Matt, This from the Guardian,, Spurs looked certain to finish third up until a late-season collapse that coincided with Redknapp being linked with the England job. They won only four of their last 13 games, a slump that started with a 5-2 defeat at Arsenal on 26 February. Spurs were 2-0 up after 34 minutes and, at that stage, looked on course to open up a 13-point gap with their local rivals. Instead they lost and were eventually overtaken by Arsenal.. amp.theguardian.com/football/2012/may/20/harry-redknapp-spurs-europa-league

      You're right in what you say but it was the case of throwing away a 10pt lead for 4th place that got him the sack. No Englishman can turn the English managers job down, the thing is, he wasn't asked by the FA, it was the media that kept asking him, again no problem there. So it's the case of letting a 10pt lead slip because his mind was elsewhere so got the sack.
