The song says "I'm not over it, but I am over you." The song isnt a lie. Not a single person at that party would take blitzo back even if he begged them and tried to woo them. They are over him. No one there wants blitzo anymore. But... the pain is still there. What he did to them, the loss, the ache, the betrayal, the feeling of his abandonment all wrapped up in their love for who they thought he was. They are not over what he did to them, which is why they party. But they are over him, which is why they'd never take him back. And if Blitzo isn't careful, Stolas will feel the same way before long. He already almost does.
Stolas' description of what he's been missing/craving for in a relationship (right when you grabbed Hamish) hit so hard and close to home that if I hadn't watched the episode during a post-workout high, I would have been bawling my eyes out.
Yeah, this is definitely a "destroy the bad to build the good in it's place", the "falling apart" is part of the process for them both to build a stronger and healthier relationship later.

Before this episode I never thought much about Blitz not telling Stolas about Striker’s first attempt at assassination. But then it just feels worse the more I think about it. Blitz can’t have it both ways. If he thought Stolas was immortal, and could never be hurt by anything, why stop Striker at all? And if he was worried that Striker could have killed Stolas in that moment, why not warn him? It doesn’t work no matter what way you look at it, and I feel like that’s one of the biggest mistakes Blitz could have made Stolas aware of.
I think it’s interesting that this episode Apology Tour takes place on Halloween it’s the one day of the year where Ghost’s and Demons come up to play around and have fun and it’ll be Halloween in 4 months.
This episode is the definition of being traumatized doesnt excuse hurting/traumatizing others Blitz has had so much pain and problems in his life, but the way he has lashed out and hurt others who just wanted to be close to him, enough to fill up an entire house it's... like Stolas said unsettling, he needed this, to realize all the pain he has caused and how much people actually cared about him.
Me as well. It took me a solid few seconds to even fully register what Stolas was talking about here. In my head I was all, "Well yeah the festival happened, but Stolas had to have found out... Blitz must have said... oh... oh no..."
I shouted. Loudly. 😂 Because OH THAT'S GOOD SHIT. I can completely see why Blitz would have let that slip his mind. I can also see why, in context of what has recently been said, Stolas would see that as Blitz COMPLETELY not even CARING enough to tell him about a serious assassination attempt. Kudos to the animators, you can see the journey on Stolas' face from shock, to betrayal, to 'not dealing with this right now omfg'.
It just dawned on me a mind blowing realization. Verosika knew that Blitz was at the party the whole time. Even when she was performing on stage with Tex and Stolas. She could have outed him at any time and easily whipped her bitter, vengeful, drunken party guests into a frenzy to beat the living hell out of him (no pun intended) but was she clearly pretending to be none the wiser about him crashing the party. That proves that deep down a part of her still cares about him in spite of what he did to her. But the best evidence that she knew he was there the whole time is the fact that she was completely unfazed by him coming to talk to her while all the guests just happen to conveniently be distracted. Even her tone of voice when mentioning his “apology tour” seems to heavily imply that she was expecting him. In other words, she went to the top of the stairs to deliberately wait for him and to emotionally prepare herself, she smoked a cigarette while she waited in order to calm her nerves, likely to keep her pent-up anger at bay as a way to emotionally restrain herself from wanting to loudly chew him out which would have made a scene and thus defeated her entire purpose of letting him save face by talking to her in private. This episode was absolutely brilliant and how it subverted the expectations of such a scenario where in a story like this, the person whose secretly in a place where everyone dislikes them usually has their cover blown. Not so this time, in this show he enters and exits the party and no one, except Verosika and Stolas are ever the wiser. That was a very refreshing subversion of expectations. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason why Viv decided to do it that way is because Blitz had already been outed in the episode that introduced Ozzie. If she had done something like that again here in this episode, it would’ve just felt like a re-hash of a scenario she had already done so I’m glad she went with a more subtle and downplayed scenario. You know what they say, sometimes in the world of drama “less is more” and I grant you that doesn’t always have to be the case but when it works, it REALLY works and this episode clearly pulled that off and then some.
Because the party isn't actually about hating Blitz, it's about helping the people he hurt. Honestly I think this episode kinda jumped Verosika to the top of my favorite character list.
Stolas' song was great as always. But we really need to appreciate Verosika's song more. "I'm not over this, but I'm over you," such a great line, and I'm glad she was able to get over Blitzø.
I don’t agree that Blitz had a point in regards to Stolas’s immortality. Being immortal doesn’t necessarily mean you’re invincible, and the fact is that Striker did seriously hurt Stolas, especially with those angelic weapons at his disposal. If Blitz had warned Stolas that Striker was out to get him, he might have been better prepared to deal with the threat at hand.
And another thing, i went back to look at that episode where striker first showed up, and when blitzø catches him, blitzø acknowledges stolas as his ticket to earth
Blitzø's moment at the beginning of "oh shit I confessed what I actually feel" and then the defenses go right back up. I hate how the "Weell fuck you!" preceded by the long pause makes me laugh.
This was a really beautiful episode. Could have been called "Hiding from how people see you." What a clobbering Blitzo got from all those people who love him. He never believed anyone could feel so strongly about him. What a reality check. Love your reactions, Wee Lass. You strike the right chords, I think. As far as I have any ability to recognize such things. Vivienne is really good at this stuff. I love her work.
It's strange to me how many reactions on this episode start very strongly in Blitz's corner. Personally, I'm much more on Stolas' side (though they're both being gay idiots), but there's something that people are seeing with Blitz that is resonating that doesn't click for me

This episode actually addresses something interesting. Blitzø seems to think that hatred is the antithesis of caring, when in reality, you need to care at least somewhat in order to hate. As Stolas pointed out.
You know, it's very easy to miss because of the humor at times, or because of how crass Blitz is... But it's like Stolas said. It speaks to the potential Blitz has as both a friend and a lover, that he's left such an emotional impact on so many people, that every year they gather around together to cope with the nasty breakup. Like, for even Verosika herself to admit that she sometimes feels bad for being so mad at him, even though he's the one who pushed her away, Blitz really needs to dig himself out of this self-hating emotional hole he is in right now and learn to accept the much better side he has.
I just noticed how the blanket Blitz is using is white with red spots as opposed to his skin red with white spots, maybe it symbolizes how his emotional scars are bigger than the physical ones and are exposed in that party? Or I could just be overthinking things now, lmao.
I fucking died this episode. Verosika telling what happened just totaly wrecked me somehow, probably hit closer to home than I thought. Cant watch that part without becoming half a mess
Something I love about this episode is that it teaches Blitzo two important lessons. One, his self-loathing and emotional connection issues don't give him the right to hurt others. Two, even if you make a sincere apology, that person isn't obligated to forgive you, nor does it erase your misdeeds. As he is now, Blitzo isn't the right person for Stolas. He needs to work on himself first.
I honestly loved Verasika in Apology Tour more than any other episode in the show blitz apologizing to her was such a nice moment 😢 and when Blitz sees Stolas Kissing another guy he’s like in defense mode and Verasika calms him down and says you know if you wanna change just let Stolas be happy and just hope he gets banned that speech feels like real life because it’s what happens in life and Blitz letting Stolas go is the right decision he needs to put in the work first.
I can understand why people get a sinking feeling when that demon asks Stolas to dance, but i really think its for the best. Blitz needs time to self reflect until hes in the right place to handle a relationship, and i think Stolas just needs the taste of someone who cares while he waits for Blitz. Not that i really *want* Blitz to get with Stolas anymore after he started pushing boundaries and made Stolas uncomfortable even when he told him to stop. Thats extremely toxic and i wont excuse Blitz for that just because he has issues.

I think one important thing is that Blitz keeps pushing sex when Stolas has said no several times. He says he doesn’t want to talk to him and doesn’t want to have sex with him and doesn’t want anything like that. In other words, Blitz keeps breaking boundaries. And I know he’s not good with that, but it’s not surprising that Stolas doesn’t like it. Also, this should answer any questions about whether or not Blitz feels degraded about being some kind of living sex toy. Sex seems to be the only way that Blitz knows how to relate, other than anger. He said that in the last episode, too. He’s not being abused here. That said, I applaud his move towards some kind of self knowledge, and I also am glad that Stolas realizes that Blitz isn’t the only person in the universe who could like him. When they get back together, and they will, they’ll both be in better shape.

Stolas is the embodiemnt of my desires for love, but Blitz embodies my fear of rejection and the walls I've slowly been tearing down to be able to have a healthy relationship. What is great about the ending is how Blitz talking out with Verosika felt like a genuine apology And then Blitz finally look around and saw how bad he hurt people Hell when one of the characters cried at the darts wasn't because they miss, it was them still having feelings that they don't want to hurt the person
Ya Verosica has always had the "Blitzo" heart tattoo crossed out. It really implied from s1 ep3 that Blitz and Verosica had a serious relationship once, and that he broke her heart. Hell she wound up in rehab meaning she probably took the breakup REALLY hard. So with this info the series of events was: -Blitz and Verosica are dating and getting serious. -Verosica tells Blitz she loves him -Blitz, panics. Then steals her credit card and runs off to Wrath, maxing her card out to take horse riding lessons. -Verosica, heartbroken, starts drinking. HARD. Winds up in rehab. Seriously Blitz did Verosica dirty.
I feel that Verosica was already an addict when she and Blitz got together. Mostly because Blitz seems to seek relationships with "damaged" people under the logic that no one healthy and well-adjusted would look at him twice. But his dumping of her in the worst way probably didn't help the matter one bit.

Verosika this whole episode, especially at the end clearly demonstrated that she's very much over Blitz, as a lover. She doesn't want to get back with him but she very much ISN'T over what blitz did to her. "Maybe im not over it, but im over you" How traumatised and hurt she is over it. She uses him as a punchbag, with the effigy-cake, cursing him out at the party etc. Thats how she's coping with how blitz stomped on her heart, left her in a hotel room, stole her cards, maxxed them out etc. Like, he really did send a message in the shittiest possible way to her.

Verosika still has her own thorns and projections to avoid hurt again. This explains her behaviors back in season 1 well. But I agree that, beneath it all, she is a hurt person. Blitz never took people with status into consideration as individuals. He probably thought that Verosika would bounce back easily from his break up. It was similar with Stolas.
Verosika and Tex shutting Stolas down when he’s starting to wonder if some of the blame is on him, or that there’s “something for us to glean”, is still… _AHH_ . Striker did have a blessed rifle, Blitz knew it could truly harm/kill Stolas, so... Yeah, the point does stand, he should have told Stolas. But yeah, in summary they're both stupids, but we know why x) Yup, that's a crossed "Blitz" tattoo on Verosika's arm.
What I find most interesting about this is that you start the episode thinking the party is Verosika being petty, when it's actually Verosika being *nice*. She hosts the party to turn everybody's trauma into something positive, and she's genuinely trying to help Stolas feel better.
The saddest part is Blitz really is the person who deserves to be at that party the most. And yes you're right Moscoe, Verosika definitely isn't over Blitz
Predictions: Either Blitz learns to let go and honestly wish Stolas happiness with someone else and they become real friends (possibly with other partners), or they both deal with their issues enough that they no longer need each other to fill trauma holes but realize that they want each other anyway and get back together, or both in that order. (Probably something like that combo option.) I do feel like the rest of the IMP crew has to play a role, though. Not much "boss" in "Helluva Boss" if there's no employees involved, yes? M&M know something about healthy relationships and can help Blitz; Blitz and Stolas each have daughters who at least have each other's socials and care about their dads (which are also both relationships that need work) and can help get them back together.

It just dawned on me a mind blowing realization. Verosika knew that Blitz was at the party the whole time. Even when she was performing on stage with Tex and Stolas. She could have outed him at any time and easily whipped her bitter, vengeful, drunken party guests into a frenzy to beat the living hell out of him (no pun intended) but was she clearly pretending to be none the wiser about him crashing the party. That proves that deep down a part of her still cares about him in spite of what he did to her. But the best evidence that she knew he was there the whole time is the fact that she was completely unfazed by him coming to talk to her while all the guests just happen to conveniently be distracted. Even her tone of voice when mentioning his “apology tour” seems to heavily imply that she was expecting him. In other words, she went to the top of the stairs to deliberately wait for him and to emotionally prepare herself, she smoked a cigarette while she waited in order to calm her nerves, likely to keep her pent-up anger at bay as a way to emotionally restrain herself from wanting to loudly chew him out which would have made a scene and thus defeated her entire purpose of letting him save face by talking to her in private. This episode was absolutely brilliant and how it subverted the expectations of such a scenario where in a story like this, the person whose secretly in a place where everyone dislikes them usually has their cover blown. Not so this time, in this show he enters and exits the party and no one, except Verosika and Stolas are ever the wiser. That was a very refreshing subversion of expectations. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason why Viv decided to do it that way is because Blitz had already been outed in the episode that introduced Ozzie. If she had done something like that again here in this episode, it would’ve just felt like a re-hash of a scenario she had already done so I’m glad she went with a more subtle and downplayed scenario. You know what they say, sometimes in the world of drama “less is more” and I grant you that doesn’t always have to be the case but when it works, it REALLY works and this episode clearly pulled that off and then some.

Because the party isn't actually about hating Blitz, it's about helping the people he hurt. Honestly I think this episode kinda jumped Verosika to the top of my favorite character list.
Love the detail of Blitz saying he sorried Fizz so hard he cried, when watching back it was actually Blitz who had the tears throughout.
Stolas' song was great as always. But we really need to appreciate Verosika's song more. "I'm not over this, but I'm over you," such a great line, and I'm glad she was able to get over Blitzø.
I don’t agree that Blitz had a point in regards to Stolas’s immortality. Being immortal doesn’t necessarily mean you’re invincible, and the fact is that Striker did seriously hurt Stolas, especially with those angelic weapons at his disposal. If Blitz had warned Stolas that Striker was out to get him, he might have been better prepared to deal with the threat at hand.

This was a really beautiful episode. Could have been called "Hiding from how people see you." What a clobbering Blitzo got from all those people who love him. It's strange to me how many reactions on this episode start very strongly in Blitz's corner. Personally, I'm much more on Stolas' side (though they're both being gay idiots), but there's something that people are seeing with Blitz that is resonating that doesn't click for me

This episode actually addresses something interesting. Blitzø seems to think that hatred is the antithesis of caring, when in reality, you need to care at least somewhat in order to hate. As Stolas pointed out.

You know, it's very easy to miss because of the humor at times, or because of how crass Blitz is... But it's like Stolas said.
It speaks to the potential Blitz has as both a friend and a lover, that he's left such an emotional impact on so many people, that every year they gather around together to cope with the nasty breakup.
Like, for even Verosika herself to admit that she sometimes feels bad for being so mad at him, even though he's the one who pushed her away, Blitz really needs to dig himself out of this self-hating emotional hole he is in right now and learn to accept the much better side he has.

Something I love about this episode is that it teaches Blitzo two important lessons. One, his self-loathing and emotional connection issues don't give him the right to hurt others. Two, even if you make a sincere apology, that person isn't obligated to forgive you, nor does it erase your misdeeds. As he is now, Blitzo isn't the right person for Stolas. He needs to work on himself first.
I honestly loved Verasika in Apology Tour more than any other episode in the show blitz apologizing to her was such a nice moment 😢 and when Blitz sees Stolas Kissing another guy he’s like in defense mode and Verasika calms him down and says you know if you wanna change just let Stolas be happy and just hope he gets banned that speech feels like real life because it’s what happens in life and Blitz letting Stolas go is the right decision he needs to put in the work first.
I can understand why people get a sinking feeling when that demon asks Stolas to dance, but i really think its for the best. Blitz needs time to self reflect until hes in the right place to handle a relationship, and i think Stolas just needs the taste of someone who cares while he waits for Blitz.
Not that i really *want* Blitz to get with Stolas anymore after he started pushing boundaries and made Stolas uncomfortable even when he told him to stop. Thats extremely toxic and i wont excuse Blitz for that just because he has issues.

I think one important thing is that Blitz keeps pushing sex when Stolas has said no several times. He says he doesn’t want to talk to him and doesn’t want to have sex with him and doesn’t want anything like that. In other words, Blitz keeps breaking boundaries. And I know he’s not good with that, but it’s not surprising that Stolas doesn’t like it.
Also, this should answer any questions about whether or not Blitz feels degraded about being some kind of living sex toy. Sex seems to be the only way that Blitz knows how to relate, other than anger. He said that in the last episode, too. He’s not being abused here.
That said, I applaud his move towards some kind of self knowledge, and I also am glad that Stolas realizes that Blitz isn’t the only person in the universe who could like him. When they get back together, and they will, they’ll both be in better shape.

Ya Verosica has always had the "Blitzo" heart tattoo crossed out. It really implied from s1 ep3 that Blitz and Verosica had a serious relationship once, and that he broke her heart. Hell she wound up in rehab meaning she probably took the breakup REALLY hard.
So with this info the series of events was:
-Blitz and Verosica are dating and getting serious.
-Verosica tells Blitz she loves him
-Blitz, panics. Then steals her credit card and runs off to Wrath, maxing her card out to take horse riding lessons.
-Verosica, heartbroken, starts drinking. HARD. Winds up in rehab.
Seriously Blitz did Verosica dirty.
I feel that Verosica was already an addict when she and Blitz got together. Mostly because Blitz seems to seek relationships with "damaged" people under the logic that no one healthy and well-adjusted would look at him twice. But his dumping of her in the worst way probably didn't help the matter one bit.

Verosika this whole episode, especially at the end clearly demonstrated that she's very much over Blitz, as a lover. She doesn't want to get back with him but she very much ISN'T over what blitz did to her. "Maybe im not over it, but im over you"
How traumatised and hurt she is over it. She uses him as a punchbag, with the effigy-cake, cursing him out at the party etc. Thats how she's coping with how blitz stomped on her heart, left her in a hotel room, stole her cards, maxxed them out etc. Like, he really did send a message in the shittiest possible way to her.

Verosika still has her own thorns and projections to avoid hurt again. This explains her behaviors back in season 1 well. But I agree that, beneath it all, she is a hurt person. Blitz never took people with status into consideration as individuals. He probably thought that Verosika would bounce back easily from his break up. It was similar with Stolas.

Predictions: Either Blitz learns to let go and honestly wish Stolas happiness with someone else and they become real friends (possibly with other partners), or they both deal with their issues enough that they no longer need each other to fill trauma holes but realize that they want each other anyway and get back together, or both in that order. (Probably something like that combo option.)
I do feel like the rest of the IMP crew has to play a role, though. Not much "boss" in "Helluva Boss" if there's no employees involved, yes? M&M know something about healthy relationships and can help Blitz; Blitz and Stolas each have daughters who at least have each other's socials and care about their dads (which are also both relationships that need work) and can help get them back together.
