Apparently there was a total lunar eclipse last night 5-15-2022 and I freaking missed it!! I did catch the very beginning albeit unknowingly because I just watched the live stream from last night and put 2 and 2 together and well I'm mad at me for missing it now... I'll see it next time I reckon.. and I will always have this video to remind me just how beautiful and majestic our planet really is
Anyone else dizzy? It was really pretty though! The moon's shadow on the ground was so cool, and when the shadow passes over the balloon, if you look up, the sun suddenly vanishes. I guess cuse even if a tiny sliver of the sun is exposed, it's so bright it looks like there's no eclipse at all, but then when that last sliver of sun gets covered, it looks like it suddenly vanishes. Also like how the vid was slowmo'd for the balloon pop. Nice touch.

@BBCEarth .. My Gods..! That was THE COOLEST THING EVER..!! Thank you for such an awesome experience.. it doesn't compare to cute animal and baby videos but it totally just made my whole day. Apparently there was a total lunar eclipse last night 5-15-2022 and I freaking missed it!! I did catch the very beginning albeit unknowingly because I just watched the live stream from last night and put 2 and 2 together and well I'm mad at me for missing it now... I'll see it next time I reckon.. and I will always have this video to remind me just how beautiful and majestic our planet really is

It was really pretty though! The moon's shadow on the ground was so cool, and when the shadow passes over the balloon, if you look up, the sun suddenly vanishes. I guess cuse even if a tiny sliver of the sun is exposed, it's so bright it looks like there's no eclipse at all, but then when that last sliver of sun gets covered, it looks like it suddenly vanishes.
Also like how the vid was slowmo'd for the balloon pop. Nice touch.
Right. The sun is so bright that even a sliver of it showing overexposes the camera's sensor.
