You can almost feel the interviewing kid seething inside when Sean called it a comic book. "Stop! Stop saying that, it's a *graphic novel*! It's for big boys!" - "Nah pal, it'sh comicsh fer childr'n."
Aged like wine he's very alive & well in here wishful thinking could reached his age such a great iconic legendary man we love you Sir Sean Connery you'll be missed😘🌹🌹🌹
Connery's initial instincts about this project were right: It did not make sense. They weren't able to merge all these great literary characters together into a believable team of heroes. What's sad is that Connery evidently did try his hardest to make it work. He indicates in this interview that he familiarized himself with Alan Moore's graphic novel, something that any dedicated actor would do, and he was one of the film's Executive Producers. It's a tragic shame that the film was ruined by the stupid storytelling and the unfortunate decision to let Stephen Norrington direct. It was no Man Who Would Be King. On a side-note: It's amusing how when Connery is asked about Lord of the Rings, he recalls his Zardoz director John Boorman trying to adapt Tolkien in the 70's.
The movie was superb, they should have made some sequels. And too bad Connery didn't agree to do The Matrix, he would have been awesome in that movie...
Sean was offered the role as Gandalf in the Lord of the rings but he did not understand the script and he turned it down but i would love to see him as Gandalf he did great in 7 James Bond movies in 1962 and 1983. Former Bond stars George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and current 007 Daniel Craig paid tribute to Sean Connery.
I'd love to see him reading Gandalf or an audition (not that he would need to). But McKellen IMO was just perfect in the role. I love Connery to bits, but I believe they got the right wizard.
I like the movie on it's own, it was meant to just use Moore''s concept and turn it into a nice fun romp. I think the effects and sets and everything was so massive that it made production complicated and some conflicts unfortunately arose. RIP Sir Sean Connery.
Connery had a big fight with the director of the movie. That was the last movie of that same Director. I don't know exactly what happened. But Connery could of went with other movies, but he was getting more pissed with time with the lack of professionalism that started to occur more and more with time, and the quality of scripts were less good as compared to before, so less roles for him. So I think you are right, this was a good closure at the right time.
never had the opportunity to watch this movie correctly, I'll watch it quietly on my android tablet. by the way, I'll put my hands on his video game released on the Playstation 2: from Russia with love. Roger Moore is my favorite actor, but I concede Sean Connery as Bond was better than him
I don't want to belabor this farting topic ...I realize it's a smelly topic ...so I apologize to the fart detractors out there ...I realize there are certain touchy topics ...and that excess human gas ⛽ is one of them ...I once taught a course in farting ...I came across an ad in the local paper 📃 advertising for a fart instructor ...yesss, I was as amazed as you ..."Fart Instructorrr!!?" That can't beee!!! But beee, it was ...fortunately, I was going through my, "Kraft Dinner, 🍽 pork, & beans," phase ...I went to audition ...competition was smelly fierce ...but, I impressed the "fart board," so much so ...that I literally blew away the competition 🌬🌬🌬 my goodness ...the windows were wide open, that day 😉 ...my students...instead of putting an apple 🍎 on my desk ...would put a whoppee cushion there instead...what a gas ⛽ of a time, we had in that class
Mr Connery has been a constant presence on screen and in many people's lives for so long, its hard to believe he is no gone. RIP.

My favorite roll Sean Connery ever played in.... R.I.P Mr. Connery

RIP and long live Sir Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 - October 31, 2020), aged 90
You will always be remembered as a legend.

Actually he turned down the Matrix sequels, he was never approached for the first Matrix
Sir Sean Connery was the perfect Allan Quatermain

Liked This Extraordinary Movie,But Had Enjoyed The Avengers As Well. Both Had Spectacular Big Special Effects Comic Book Appeal.🎉
I think this movie was a good way for Sean to close his acting career
I think his experience during the filming put him off acting forever anyway.
No way. Neither the film's story nor its director were worthy of Connery's talents.
Connery had a big fight with the director of the movie. That was the last movie of that same Director. I don't know exactly what happened.

Dorian Grey indeed.🥃
0:22 Well, yeah, the one Connery didn't understand at first.

I don't care what the critics say, LOEG is a fantastic movie.
Mr Hawks Sir, please accept these virtual ice-cold beer vouchers, which can be redeemed at any of my outlets! 🍺🍺😉
I guess Connery really DID turn down Lord of the Rings on account of not understanding it. :/
He admitted as much on the LXG DVD.
