Hi! When I set up S3 bucket I get: "Failed to synchronize S3 Bucket 'mybucket'. Details: connect: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond Agent failed to process method {Network.RetrieveSslCertificate}. " Do you know what could it be?
Matias, sorry about a late one. Have you managed to resolve it? The error is pointing to the SSL certificate somewhere here. Actually, would be nice to see the full log to get a better view. Usually, I'd recommend to open a support case, they are pretty efficient in troubleshooting things like that.
Hernan, no AWS storage gateway requirement in this scenario. You need to add your AWS account credentials into Veeam Backup & Replication and then configure Scale-Out Backup Repository there. Just watch the video as I'm doing there everything from scratch.
Downloading and importing are 2 various scenarios: with importing you're adding data back to the console, so you can perform all the recovery options (but data stays in the cloud): helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/sync_capacity_tier_data.html?ver=100, while downloading is actually bringing the data back to on-premises. helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/downloading_offloaded_data.html?ver=100
Great video. I wonder how much will it cost me to archive about 50 Tb on S3. Right now I am using tapes to offload veeam jobs every end of month. It is taking me about 15 LTO 5 tapes and about 2 days to move them to tape. its a hassle.

Your drive names are crazy man.
Can I backup BMR or VM snapshots into S3 as objects?
do u need to create a storage gateway first? how do u connect the on premise with Aws S3?
