Nice work. I've done many of these with copper and brass. When doing brass I recommend a salt and white vinegar mixture applied directly to the surface. You'll get some nice blueish greens. Remembering to leave some surfaces untouched In order to produce some contrast. Those areas can be polished after the patina is done. Cut the cook time to about 8 hours because less is more with brass. Hope that helps. Again great job.
VERY cool!!! I think you mentioned that this process can be done on copper too? If so, I’d like to try it on my new copper snare drum that I’m building!! Thanks for sharing!!! 🤘🏼🔪🕷️🦇🐍🥁
Yea the pivot pin was tricky for me too, I had to try and slowly work to separate the scale from the liner and then the pivot came out of the scale a bit easier. Worst case, could try a gentle application of a rubber mallet.
I got it thanks for the help. I have had mine in a container with ammonia and salt for 2 days and it’s turning black but no blue or green 😞. Any suggestions?
Came out great.
I have been thinking about doing that myself. I think you just convinced me. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.🍻👍🇺🇲✌️🇺🇲🤙
Let me know how it goes!
That looks really neat! The scales turned out great. Really like the idea of a BioShock inspired EDC.
Thank you! It’s different than what I expected but I really like the outcome.
Bioshock is a great game!
Oooooooh dang!!! That turned out fantastic!!
Thank you! I’m on the lookout to do another copper knife. I really like the blue!
Awesome!
That looks amazing will definitely be trying this out
Thank you! I love it and slightly regret giving it to my dad. So I bought myself another one to do this process again. 😂

Thank you! I do love the blues and greens that happen. I bought another one of these for myself to patina haha
Cool, I look forward to seeing the results.👍
Everything came out great. I really like the blue on the Begleiter. I absolutely love the beads and stuff from Z&C metalworks.🗡⚔🤘
I can’t wait to get the bead set up with my original set. I’m going to have to do this again! It was very straightforward to do.

Yea the items I shipwrecked in this video were copper! I did brass earlier but you can also do bronze too.
That was amazing!
Thank you!
Looks good
Thank you!
“ play stupid games win stupid prizes “ 😘
Yea I am very cautious with any chemical, so I hope that others are too lol
How did you get the scale off with the pivot pin through it? I can’t seem to get it apart

Once clearcoated, does the usual copper smell still persist?
What a great question! I did not notice it to be honest, but when I see my dad next, I’ll have to ask/test this. 😂
