I'm commenting late, but I'm doing it just to say, God I miss this. Not just the play, but the cast, and all the fun and jokes that we had backstage. All the memories we made. I would go through the rehearsals and actual play a million more times if I had the chance!
my old middle school did peter pan for their fall musical and i just went to see their second performance tonight! (their first was during the school day so i couldn’t go)
My theatre group is doing this for our spring play! This is exactly like the 1924 version with Betty Bronson playing Peter Pan, and I absolutely love it! Great job everyone!! 👏🏼👏🏼 much love ❤️❤️
these are kids. However to answer your question Cathy Rigby blew Mary Martin away in the role. Without any question. Mary Martin could sing sweetly but she also had the clear body shape of an adult woman. Cathy Rigby not only has a wonderful voice but she owns the flying sequences as well as the dancing. She is also tiny and easily passes for a young boy. Being the "original" which Mary Martin was NOT doesn't make someone the definitive standard. Incidentally saw the Martin version and saw Rigby perform the role multiple times. Rigby is the performance to beat and I'm not going to hold my breath.
