If you think the sitting doesn't have to do anything with the singing then you're quite wrong here. Although Seohyuns dress/belt was too tight, sitting down while is even more harder to do than while standing up. Better posture = Clearer vocals and less harder to belt out a note.
Taengoo was perfectly in-tune and on-spot in this performance while Seobaby and Fany cracked and went off-tune at the challenging parts of the song. They sung much better when they were standing. This performance really showcases the raw vocal talent of Taeyeon.
Don't be ridiculous the belt has nothing to do with seo's performance. Its the truth that from the start until now, Seohyun has a bad technique in breathing. When she sings, you can hear her breathing than her voice. plus, they are sitting that made her struggle more. But seo has a good voice but not as good as Tae. For me, she's a great singer than tif. No hate. just stating a fact. Two thumbs up for Taeyeon for saving the performance!
