TODD SHORR! Awesome Talent! AWESOME guy! I met Todd at one of his art Shows. He's friendly and approachable. I guess I got a little excited though. I had flown in from Hawaii to meet him at that L.A. show. Very swanky gallery; opening night they had door men and velvet ropes, a line of hipsters waiting to get in. Live DJ inside. Da' works! I was talking to Todd, but guess I was talking a bit loud.... I noticed the celebrity curator, David Arquette, slowly move towards us, in my peripheral vision. David was listening to us. Trying to find out if I was some "nut" bothering Todd. David listened, and figured out Todd and I we both excitedly talking about his Art, and which paintings did Leonardo Dicaprio own? Did Mark Parker have his HUGE pieces hung or only stored in some environmentally stable warehouse / museum, or what? Etc… So… I looked up and David just smiled, nodded, and slowly slid away - very smooth, & classy…. for a "Low-Brow Art" show! MOST EXCELLENT and Awesome indeed!
When I was in art school, this was referred to as "including the bathroom sink". It's refreshing to see someone using this technique and actually being honored for it. Beautiful!
Art that challenges existing ideas of fine art will always have negative criticism from the art establishment at first. first. I think lowbrow and pop surrealism is an exciting new direction in art. A century from now, this stuff will be as valued as Andy Warhol and Basquiat.
Todd Schorr is like Robt Williams with a revoked licence and so went back with the Flying Purple People Eater forever, abandoning attachments to the real world once and for all except only for nostalgia.
It's funny seeing all the keyboard art critics compare his style to that of hie peers. You act like surrealism was just invented. For all practical intents, I could claim to be the surreal artist of the century, and all others are just copying my style.
Mind Blowing! Love the Pipe Organ version of Pictures At An Exhibition, one of my favorite pieces
Yo this is the man right here !!!!! Wish i wouldve known about his show!!!!
So incredible...truly a modern master
