Beautiful pad, thank you! BTW, the buffer underruns were a bit distracting. Sadly I was getting them too after recreating this patch, but increasing buffer size in my DAW helped.

Thanks man!! It's funny you increased your buffer cuz I literally did the same thing about 2 hrs ago haha

Downloaded Surge today. Great sample patches. It seems like the output is much lower than other synthesizers, maybe there’s a fix for that? Also, my UI looks like hell color-wise. Maybe there are user settings for it? Much to explore but it certainly has great potential and it’s free!

I take back what I said earlier about this guy. I see it's got some amazing audio channeling with the whole FM cross mods and such. I think I could get way more into this than Vital.

@@jonaudio Yes there I love searing basses with some choir voices dropped down or up octaves then with a hard bangin 909 kick and screams and howls bells that’s what my melody’s are like

Surge is such a great synth very underrated but I do see it popping up more and more. Could they be onto this secret? Oh and that unison really added something nice, hehe

Well after a short time I have to say Cube is really crazy, a lot of great textures. I blended in a pluck preset from surge XT ran that through one of falcons arp's and had me some funky stuff going on there. lol.

I hate "unison", it spoils everything it touches, it should only be used sparsely.

    • @jonaudio

interesting take, I've honestly not heard that before

@@jonaudio In 1984 I bought a Jupiter 8 and it had the most beautiful ensemble of strings that had so little detuning that you would need to send it through a rack stereo chorus to be perfect. I think unison is a bit of a trick to simulate a sense of width. So, to me, as soon as you go up from the string ensemble is too much. These days there are so many ways to modulate a sound. Anyway is just a matter of taste.
