I was chased by car from a nearby town after a day of shopping. This idiot kept following me, matching my speed, passing me then slamming on his brakes & every time he's pulled even with me he'd shake his cell phone at me (we were on the interstate). I sped, was driving a BMW 850i at the time, reached speeds of over 90 mph, prayed for a cop but no such luck. Did get the idiots tag number which I memorized. Decided I'd have better luck in my own town than staying on the highway but the fool followed me off the highway. I ran redlights, flashed lights, beeped horns all to no avail. But I damn sure was not gonna lead him to my house. My husband was a doctor & sometimes drove the car I was in so there was a gate opener for the underground doctor's parking lot. I got just enough distance on this fool to enter that lot, park & exit the car into a door with a numerical entry which I used in case he decided to park & walk down there. I calmed myself in hub's office for a bit then cautiously drove home & called the cops. They ran his tag. A married salesman with a couple kids from a couple counties over. Did I want to swear out a complaint, cop wants to know. I say I do not wish to disrupt his family's life as long as he doesn't try to find me. He didn't. But it made me an even more dedicated proponent of firearms & today, probably 25 yrs later I still carry & am fortunate to live in a state where open carry is legal. You'd be surprised at how many problems I've avoided with men who thought better of bothering the "pretty little lady" with the .40 semi auto on her hip. Ladies, until we can stop having stupid societal conversations where women have to come out of the woodwork to out sexual predators & where male judges don't want to "ruin" a young rapists life by giving him a reasonable sentence for ruining a young woman's, we need to reacquaint ourselves with our inner warriors, turn loose mama bear on anybody who threatens the mama. Just mho, men need to rethink whom they wish to terrorize & chase home!
I escaped my rapist bc of my firearm Then I was charged with assault (he followed me to my car alone where the confrontation became violent) and when I got away he apparently called the cops with a crazy story about how I attacked him. I was then arrested bc his word against mine was apparently fine and enough for an arrest but when it was my word against his it was different - I was told it was just my word alone against his wasn’t enough. I fought it hard but am now not allowed to carry my own legal gun and was told that next time I’m being raped I have to be more careful not to hurt my attacker. Ya I know it is UNBELIEVABLE but tragically true. Now when I’m attacked next time I have no way to defend myself bc I’m not even allowed pepper spray. I think every woman should carry bc it saved me SO MANY TIMES. I’d rather be arrested again than let a man rape me so I don’t get in trouble for upsetting my attacker by fighting back or escaping. I hate this world I’ve become so depressed I feel I can’t do anything go anywhere bc I now have no right to defend myself or my body- I’ve considered drastic things lately esp bc I can’t live with the injustice- like maybe I should just die if I’m of that little value to the Justice system or to my society - if a man’s word means everything and I’m just garbage - why bother keep living? So I can get assaulted again and again with no way to defend myself? When a woman is raped she is 6x more likely to be raped again?! These men know there’s no real consequences for sex assault of women or children - except in like 2% of all reported cases - none.
I am sorry your situation didn't work out as the woman's above did. Good old activist judges/juries. But all I can say is that many people just carry anyway. Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.@@monabones9461
Amen. I'm 54. My granddaughters already know to trust their instincts, not to go anywhere, with anyone if they're not comfortable. Even if that's the principle, the preacher, whomever. If there's not a woman they trust going into that office, room, halll, with them, they won't go. It doesn't matter if it's a cop. They won't budge. They'll call me. They're 12 and 10, so too young to carry a gun, but they are learning how to use one already.
All of these walking alone stories are the exact reason I always carry bear spray, a pocket knife, and a small hatchet with me on all walks let someone try something !!
Absolutely love your voice, it feels so just relaxing but I’m still so interested in the story not getting bored. I’ve always wanted to get into doing these story readings but it doesn’t seem there are many female readers-maybe I’ll change that
Urbex stories are some of my favorites usually, but some of these shouldn’t have made the cut. “ I left my house and the car passed me. I’ve never been so scared in my life? Lol
Great vid Mortis. Man what is the deal in some of these stories with these brain dead parents not believing their children when these scary or at least unsettling things happen to them? I just don't get it.
They probably think that the children are exaggerating. Kind of like the "monster in the closet" stories that children tell. But saying that, isn't it any wonder that children won't tell their parents when they're being abused? Poor kids. 😕
As the mother of a 12 year old compulsive liar, I can understand it. She isn't really a compulsive liar - she is capable of choosing to tell the truth... but she just chooses to lie instead. She has told me a couple of tales about experiencing something paranormal. I pretend to believe her (like I pretend to believe so much other BS she comes up with from time to time) and it isn't as though she is having ongoing paranormal encounters or demonic oppression. It was one thing one time, and I'm pretty sure her story has changed since I first heard it (the entity was red, apparently, when she told me about it fairly soon after it happened; now she said it was a pale white-ish colour. Well, I'm sold! lol). I definitely think some of the parents mentioned in various stories could have dealt with the situation/s better, but being a parent is hard work and sometimes it outright sucks. You do what you think is best at the time, especially when you have no time to sit down and calmly consider your options and how each might potentially backfire and the life-long consequences for the child. I'm sure you've heard the saying about there not being a "right way" to raise kids? There are infinite ways to raise a child well and twice as many ways to fuck it up ;)
@@andi5906 at 12.....she's probably traumatised. Maybe she's so scared she's trying to make the episode more believable to her doubting mother? People believe what they want to believe,no doubt she's learnt this. If something unspeakable happened do you think she would be one of the kids that don't speak out as you've made it clear she's a compulsive liar. Thank the lord you ain't on my team.....
These are awesome! But 1st story I don't get parents who don't believe their kids. It's just sad and not giving them a key just puts them in more danger. Anyhu thanks Mort 😉
Agreed. Don't have to believe them every time, if it is recurring theme but for heavens sake, they must check it out every time, in case this is the one time...
So I just wanna say about the story that starts at 42:53: The mother had at least 2 opportunities to call 911 after the car chase started and the grandma really could have done so at any point as a passenger. I understand not thinking clearly in a stressful situation like that, but calling the police as soon as possible should be your first instinct in a situation like that. And I do mean that more as a piece of adivce than a criticism, because really it's about keeping yourself as safe as possible.

I forgot about but I was talking to her recently about how stupid she was to walk home alone at night.
The girl in the story in Japan saying that it's been 3 years and she can't remember his face reminds me that not everyone has a memory like mine. I'm 54, my birthday was just a few weeks ago. When I was 27 months I escaped the yard, after removing my shoes, of course and walked out into the alley that was being paved. @@geoffmoore1828 bro I’m not talking about air travel you dunce. I’m talking about parents letting their child walk alone at night. That has nothing to do with 9/11. That has to do with the utter failure of the police and justice system.
@@SuburbaniteUrbanite My man, I don't think he's talking about air travel. I think he means just the United States in general, people were more serious about security regarding their children. I think taking more precautions regarding child safety started before 9/11 but what do I know.
Fr, my parents literally used to pick me up with their car from my work (cuz it usually ended at 1am) even tho it was like a 5 minute ride mith my bike But that's mostly cuz I'm terrified to be alone on the streets at night or even during the day if there is no one (I just get weird vibes from those streets)
Your vastly overestimating the difficulty of keeping a child from just walking out the front door. My cousin used to do this, wasn’t sleep walking, wasn’t ever going to be a real issue unless he got lost in the woods (it’s more like a forest but with some houses if you’re from the Midwest)

I've had several times where I almost vanished off the face of the planet myself. I don't remember anyone making a big point of "stranger danger," although I did know the term from a young age. Once, a truck was following me and passed me when I was only a house or two from home, and the way he leered at me, I knew he had no good intentions, innocent as I was. I read a lot. I watched a lot of "procedural" shows. Quincy, M.E. is the first one I can remember. I think that my taste for those shows saved my life, more than once.
I was reading at a college level since 4th grade. I was reading true crime books at that young age. Serial killer books about Ted buddy, John Wayne gacy etc. I believe reading these books have saved my life numerous times.
@@t-ellie794 I wasn't reading books on that level at that age. However, the first serial show I can remember watching avidly was The Muppet Show, and at the same time, Quincey, M.E.. I watched Quincey with fascination that hasn't altered in my continuing choices of procedural shows, including Bones and The Forensic Files and the like. Most of my =reading= preferences are for entertainment, and most true crime does NOT fall into that. It is possible that Quincey taught me to be wary in ways that helped me not to be TOO stupid, but I still did things that could have been very bad. As a latch-key kid in the mid 80s, I would ride my bike down a major street that (I was told later, years later) working girls would make use of. I would bike down this road day or night, visit a Fred Meyer or go further down to the mall, on a whim, without even leaving a note for my mother, should anything have happened to me. The ONLY care I remember taking, was making certain to be home before 8pm, when she would call home to check on me. Only rarely did I miss her call, and would say I'd been... occupied, such as in the bathroom. I don't think I ever have told her about my biking habits during that time.
@@t-ellie794 Same here, but I didn't read a lot of true crime, I did come into possession of a lot of magazines from the 30s and 40s about true crime, they were weird. Otherwise I read science, but I did watch a lot of true crime or cop shows, and my dad always taught me what to look out for.
Thanks again, Mort. Your stories seem to have gone through an editing process, because they are quite believable, unlike some of the other channels which claim to be true but sound like somebody's teenaged cousin after too much acid.

So to the people screaming about "Why won't parents believe their kids?!" I'm gonna assume you're a kid, too. Which isn't a bad thing, it's wonderful and vanishes before you realize it so live in the moment while planning. Anyroad, Just because someone write TRUE in the title of the video, especially all in caps, doesn't mean they are actually true. They can't prove it's true and neither can the writers of these *stories*. I'm not saying none of them are true cause it's a double-edged sword. I cannot prove they aren't real. I know there are shitty parents and I know there are shitty kids. I know some parents might actually not believe their kid and some kids might tell lies like this all the time (boy who cried wolf is a story for a reason, "one day it's really going yo happen and no one will believe you or come to help!"). But take every story you ever hear (that does not show actual proof of it happening, like a news article or something on Google because these would be huge stories even online or back before the internet when everyone was still reading newspapers. There would be proof of this somewhere. Newspapers would want to get the story of a child being hurt, assaulted or kidnapped out to the public as soon as possible to WARN the public there is a danger to children lurking out there and to be vigilant. Amber alert, anyone? Take the stories with a grain of salt, if you want to see people who actually have proof of their stories and such I'd have to recommend 1) ruclips.net/user/LazyMasquerade or 2) Lady White Rabbit ruclips.net/channel/UCZf6E8JnQF5cK41tYlLNzVA They actually show video, pictures or news stories and sometimes they have audio from the story. Don't worry if it's real. Enjoy the spooks, keep yourself safe and just enjoy the story. The fact that you get worked up about people having parents who don't listen to them tells me that you yourself *do* have someone who will listen to you and trust me, you do. Police, guardians, teachers, etc. If something actually happens to you whether someone approached you and made you feel uncomfortable, an adult is staring at you on the playground or you see them walking to and/or from school, whatever, tell someone immediately. They *will* listen. These are stories. Stories with warnings. Not stories with solid roots in reality. Yes, these things and much more heinous acts have been forced upon children, adults and animals for centuries. But you live in almost 2021 (let's not talk about 2020, hm?) You literally have the entire world at your fingertips. Keep an eye out, but do not live in fear, stay safe and be smart. Scream your lungs out if anyone ever tries something that you are not comfortable with. Hurt them as badly as you can, if you can just by clawing, kicking and biting like a wild animal. I did not have a cellphone or internet as a child, but I knew what to do when some asshole bothered me.
After listening to most, if not all of these types of stories, one thing strikes me, and that is that SO many people are so self-absorbed, and they think that they are either so hot, so desirable, or whatever else they have built themselves up to in their mind, that the simplest of encounters these people face in their interactions with others, they have twisted into "somebody wants to kidnap me/rape me/murder me/rob me". it is at a point at which a man can't even tell a woman "you look very pretty today", without them thinking you want to rape them,or saying that saying such constitutes "Sexual Harassment", or, after seeing someone walking in the rain, THAT person taking a chance with a stranger and pulling up to them walking in the rain and putting THEIR fear aside to perform a basic human kindness of asking if "you would like a ride, to get out of the rain?", or similar situations...I can't remember all of them anymore after listening to so many, LOL Maybe it stems from the fact that people now, are more comfortable interacting over a computer, or phone...I've seem people texting another person-having a text conversation, yet are in the same room or coffee shop, not 6 feet away from each other! Now, before the keyboard kommando's start in, I know the world, as I've been all over it. And, yes, I do know there are bad people out there intent on doing harm to good folks...but that has gone on since the dawn of time, and will continue for time indeterminate. However, being moved to tell someone how nice they look on a particular day, if for no other reason to brighten their day immediately constitutes sexual harassment in someone's mind, and acting out as if you are trying to ACTIUALLY assault them is the first thought that comes to peoples minds, or, if saying "let me help you with that" if you see someone with a heavy load, or trying to do something that would normally take more than 1 person or a chimpanzee, one's immediate first thought is "this guy is trying to set me up to rob me" etc, I feel sorry not just for Americans, but for the world. Political Correctness is so pervasive, it has infested and rotted everything now. MSM news channels preach nothing but 'Fear Porn' and 'Hate Porn' to the masses who watch, which is a subtle (or, not-so-subtle) form of a Psychological Operation. Hearing and seeing these stories over and over re-wires one's brain to think it's just a matter of time before they are a target for some type of crime, and so shut off completely from human interaction-just like being told there is a "Pandemic" and you must wear a mask, not go out, and not socialize with anyone. It is ridiculous anymore. There ARE bad people preying on those smaller and weaker every day. However, one's immediate thoughts when someone actually engages them in HUMAN, actual face-to-face interaction should not automatically revert to telling yourself subconsciously that you are being set up-use common sense, and the good judgement your parents (should have) instilled in you, and, trust your gut-you will get a almost immediate feeling if harmful intent is present, and live your damn life, instead of always feeling like you are going to be a victim today. People need to disconnect from fones and computers, and not watch the Mainstream news outlets-hell, even not watch local news, as it is the same too, with the "If it bleeds, it leads" mentality. Once people disconnect, and start having to have face-to-face interaction again, things MAY just get a little better. So sorry for the rant, it just gets me that not just minorities anymore have the "I'm a victim" mentality anymore. If you ACT like a victim, you WILL be-those with criminal intent actually can key into that vibe. Dont be a victim. Do what you have to do in order to feel, to yourself, that you are not, otherwise its just a self-fulfilling prophecy. Again, I apologize, and promise to put myself in a youtube comments "time out", corner, because if someone spanked me it would thus be 'child abuse' LOL

Not really sure why i shared all that, i just wanted you to know that i agree with you. Lmao... Good Day All.
Sounds like sour grapes here.. Feels like some people need to change their body language if they are being misinterpreted giving a compliment or an offer of assistance. Who in their right mind would EVER get in to a stranger's car? Male, female in any combination. Day or night. Would you want a teen or older child of yours to? Wow, if that upsets you then you really need to rethink not only your body language but what and how you say and where you're saying it. Good grief. Women love a compliment but never from a stranger and there are ways and places where it's not appropriate. Good luck

First time listening to anything but Let's Read, which my stupid friend got me hooked on a year ago, and I've been up all night listening, and, thanks to the kick ass narration and the stories themselves, scared. Thanks a lot.
Good night everyone
Sadly, what's really disturbing these days is the fact we don't "meet" When I take Dogman out for his nightly rampage/walk, all the other cryptids avoid us...Even the "Clown at Midnight" doesn't come around anymore...so, I guess I'll just listen to these in the dark, alone...I am alone, right?
I escaped my rapist bc of my firearm
Then I was charged with assault (he followed me to my car alone where the confrontation became violent) and when I got away he apparently called the cops with a crazy story about how I attacked him. I was then arrested bc his word against mine was apparently fine and enough for an arrest
but when it was my word against his it was different - I was told it was just my word alone against his wasn’t enough.
I am thankful you don't live in the worldwide joke known as canada.
I am sorry your situation didn't work out as the woman's above did. Good old activist judges/juries.
But all I can say is that many people just carry anyway. Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.@@monabones9461
You are loved. Don't give up. You did the right thing
Amen.

Great vid Mortis. Man what is the deal in some of these stories with these brain dead parents not believing their children when these scary or at least unsettling things happen to them? I just don't get it.
Thanks again :D
They probably think that the children are exaggerating. Kind of like the "monster in the closet" stories that children tell. But saying that, isn't it any wonder that children won't tell their parents when they're being abused? Poor kids. 😕
@@Ciara1594 ikr.

I'm sick of parents not believing their children
I’m shocked that so many parents just allow their children to just... walk out alone at night
Believe it or not, that’s how things used to be. In a pre-9/11 world, everyone just felt safe.
Fr, my parents literally used to pick me up with their car from my work (cuz it usually ended at 1am) even tho it was like a 5 minute ride mith my bike
But that's mostly cuz I'm terrified to be alone on the streets at night or even during the day if there is no one (I just get weird vibes from those streets)

@@t-ellie794
I wasn't reading books on that level at that age.
@@cchastant8251 I think back to things I was doing as a kid that my mom didn't know about and think how lucky I was honestly.

Hey! Will be right there! 😊
Take the stories with a grain of salt, if you want to see people who actually have proof of their stories and such I'd have to recommend 1) ruclips.net/user/LazyMasquerade
or 2) Lady White Rabbit ruclips.net/channel/UCZf6E8JnQF5cK41tYlLNzVA
They actually show video, pictures or news stories and sometimes they have audio from the story.
My name Jeff

I'm guessing that you make some good points but I have a short attn span so, I couldn't read it all the way through. Too long....
Love the long stories, but would love to edit for you. Editing would really set you ahead of others.
After listening to most, if not all of these types of stories, one thing strikes me, and that is that SO many people are so self-absorbed, and they think that they are either so hot, so desirable, or whatever else they have built themselves up to in their mind, that the simplest of encounters these people face in their interactions with others, they have twisted into "somebody wants to kidnap me/rape me/murder me/rob me".
it is at a point at which a man can't even tell a woman "you look very pretty today", without them thinking you want to rape them,or saying that saying such constitutes "Sexual Harassment", or, after seeing someone walking in the rain, THAT person taking a chance with a stranger and pulling up to them walking in the rain and putting THEIR fear aside to perform a basic human kindness of asking if "you would like a ride, to get out of the rain?", or similar situations...I can't remember all of them anymore after listening to so many, LOL
Maybe it stems from the fact that people now, are more comfortable interacting over a computer, or phone...I've seem people texting another person-having a text conversation, yet are in the same room or coffee shop, not 6 feet away from each other!

@Andrew Phillips -Right!??! "Hi" today is equal to rape to ,ost women in the US.
Good luck
I've been followed on the bus at night before, not fun. Lucky enough I got away and called my mom.
The story at one hour-- "Mind my own business and trouble will avoid me..." Oh, right, do nothing so somebody else will get murdered and dumped. Maybe next time it'll be somebody you love.
That guy who chased the auntie just wow why didnt she carry any pepper spray or a knife
DEEP WEB STORIES Pleasssssse !!! I cant get enough of those stories. They're so suspenseful endearing, and quite different to other scary stories; such as Skin-Walker or monster stories. (On the Deep Web you find different New type of monsters there. Human or other.. )
