The way you describe getting a reaction from the crowd and wanting to play to that is very much how pro wrestlers feel when they perform. It's always about getting the "pop". Really glad you got such a prominent position on a panel so huge!

I’ve been a subscriber since 2016 and a patron. Top quality stuff on your channel, mate. Congrats on being featured in the panel! Being able to publicly speak with other people about something you’re passionate about is a special feeling, and sharing it with those who value the same thing makes the whole experience very heartwarming and fun.
There's something about a crowd that dissolves your nerves. With small groups, you can feel the eyes on you but when there's heaps of people out there it's a bit easier.
Its so great to see how things are getting better and better for you, jak!!.

I wasn't there on the Saturday, so I didn't catch the panel, but I keep hearing such positive stuff about the experience, and it's great to hear that it was a bucket list item for you.
Since I've seen some people in the comment section telling their side of the story on how they got to know you, I think I'm gonna do the same!
First off, I don't know how much this is gonna mean for you, but I am seriously proud of how much you grow up and improve every video you make. I got to know you around 2017 I think, I discovered you from the old Crash Reviews. They were so genuine and easy to watch that I just stuck around and kept watching you.
You've always shown great improvements each and every video you made (and still make) and that makes you one of the most genuine guys on this site. Really happy about you being on a panel, hope you get more opportunities like this one!
Late 90s, early 2000s was an amazing era, I was just born then but movies, games and music were so good and cool back then.

I’ve had a thought for a while about doing a PAX AUS panel called Console Wars where each person would discuss their memories of gaming from a particular system within a certain era (e.g. 1995-2000 which would encompass SNES, N64 & Game Boy/PlayStation/Saturn & Dreamcast etc.) but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll ever have the popularity or panellists to do something like that. So it’s cool that there was something like that this year. Was a pleasure again seeing you at the meet up btw.

I'm quite happy for you. It's unfair that your channel growth has stagnated considering the work you have put into it, but you're still being recognized in the physical world in the way a "bigger RUclipsr" would. In many ways, you're an inspiration. I'm hoping to work my way up to vintage tech conventions someday (not with the channel I'm commenting with, of course haha).

God, I can relate so much to you doing an essay in front of class. I got really sick and nearly fainted in front of class every single year doing an essay back in high school. So embarassing, and just unbelievably frustrating.
I understand why they try to teach us confidence but some kids are just built different, I fucking hate everyone getting painted with the same brush. it's bullshit.

Very cool. Never been to cons, never any around and not an event type person but I watch the occasional ones that get uploaded. I suck at public speaking too but even talking to a camera is strange too at first.
Yeah not surprised PS/Nintendo focused as usual. For sure the quote from the movie is just sigh worthy but as the video maybe did or didn't go up around then yeah only you two would know until the video had gone up depending on how far through it was making it. Ah in-jokes though.
But I mean Athens 2004 what a legend for someone to get a photo with that, what a viewer, they know. XD
I might watch the video footage I could go 'yep many games I know about alright' as someone into more niche games/whatever in pickups/demo disks people cover these days. With you focusing on them yeah I get that other things to go see would have made sense. Don't need to focus on the big IPs other than certain reviews so I don't need the nostalgic talks about them at all. Fair panels but eh I wouldn't go to them either because I know everything obvious that would be talked about/maybe planned but the soundtrack and other stuff is usually fun with these sorts of events besides if you already know what's going to be in them/maybe find a cool soundtrack to listen to which I do with research when finding games from the 1994-2006 era of consoles.
