I live in West Seattle. Moved to this neighborhood directly from Chicago. We considered other neighborhoods (Ballard, Freemont, etc.) but ultimately West Seattle was the winner for us. It's less congested and claustrophobic feeling (for me), a great mix of people at different stages of life, safe, and like you said - a TON of amenities. It was hard when the bridge was down, but even then, I still wouldn't trade neighborhoods. I have access to the rest of the city within a 5 minute drive to the bridge. I will never leave.
