Thank you, i needed this. My dog is 45,5 kg, brown with black nose, 2.5y young cane corso. Working every day with him and hope that the beauty competitions will start this year so I can go for the first time with him.
@@johnandannewrightson9260 I know im late but they have a natural instinct to guard and they bond deep with the family. If you put in the work you'll get a great family protector and companion
Dogumentary TV Spinalsurgerist is correct. This breed is going throw a bit of this nonsense battle with what should be. The standard almost contradicts its self in some ways the boxer is not and show not ever be promoted I am a breeder and show my own dogs. The boxer is imbedded in the cane corso but there are still great cane corso out there without influence of boxer or Great Dane or bull mastiff which is what this breed struggles with. I think you guys are doing an amazing job filming but also at the same time I think you guys should put a lot more effort into researching what this breed is suppose to be. Because whatever you film with boxer and Dane and bull and post on RUclips also misleads the uneducated into buying more of that crap. My advice talk with actual experience breeders who have been doing this for a long time.
Dogumentary TV also if you watch your own film check out the consistency of what your filming in the dogs all different types of structures that are far away from standard structures and movement. Some dogs in your film just don't belong. So again it misleads the uneducated into buying crap dogs far away from standard. I love the description as your presenting the dogs but your description in writing on screen completely contradicts the dogs you actually film. I don't mean to come across rude but again my friend my advice speak with long time breeders who actually know what this breed should be like.
The standard had not been based on boxer mixes. It had been mainly based on dogs shown in 1983 at a demonstration of the breed in Mantova, that were still farm dogs. Unfortunately, even if less than half of the dogs shown there had that damned "slight undershot", for some reason, probably to differentiate more the breed from the neapolitan mastiff, that trait became the breed standard, when the vast majority of the farm dogs had even or scissor bites (and that's easy to know, since the Neapolitan Mastiff breed is based on the same farm dogs, and the standard calls for level or scissor bites) . So, once the standard had been estabilished, if you were a breeder that wanted his dogs to win contests, and your breed obstinately produced dogs with scissor bites... Fortunately there are many pictures of dogs shot between the '20s and the '70s that show how the breed should look like.
Thanks for the videos and information on dog breeds Zeke you have helped me a lot. I have one Corso now and I am preparing for another one the are great dogs but they are not for everyone.
siddarth sid if you love canes please come check out my channel! I have a cane and she is the sweetest most loving dog on the planet! I only have 22 subs but I will still make videos anyway 😂 just for the fun on it
This is not a dog to just leave in the yard.... it will break their heart the breed truly just want to be with their family. More loyal than most family members.... I have a almost 3 year old named Mann..... BEST DOG EVER.... It does take some work but the reward is wonderful
Unfortunately, what was once a huge fault, an underbite, is now in the standard because of the crosses with boxers and bullmastiffs in the first years of 'recovering' the breed, to get more numbers.
My Katos 136 lbs ... His Nick name is 1%er ... I have Two acors and USED to have COYWOLFS coming threw my property.... - 3 COYWOLFS later NO MORE COMING THREW THIS GUYS YARD. 1%er FROM BIRTH Katos a Gooooooo boy!!!!!
T Money hold my hands up! I am not done watching but thanks for the heads-up. Yes AKC same as eastern europe, short stumpy look but very agile. Had some problems with some of the pups from these parts with the odd cherry eye but they still make great dogs. I prefer Italian/Mediterranean lines ( Longer snout, rustic look) myself. Even if I have seen people import from Italy but this seems the only breed in America which has decreased in size, as opposed to the bigger better logic no offence if your from that side of the pond. Cheers
Dogumentary TV haha we will have to wait and see, you guys are spoilt for choice as a lot of the desired breeds are banned here in the UK. I would get a Tosa, Fila or Dogo if I was up your end. Hope your pitts doing well bro bring him back on the vlog!
Dogumentary TV man rotts are making a come back it seems. Everyone I talk to about dogs is looking to get a rottie. I think I'm getting another American Akita and/or corso. Someone actually left a rott pup in a kennel curbside at my neighbor's house. It was about 8 or 9 weeks old. She was healthy and well adjusted. Can't believe that people would do that
I'm in the uk I've had my red fawn cane corso bonnie from 8 weeks old and only 7 kilos (15lb) she is now 13 months old and is exactly 40 kilos (88lb) she is fantastic such a beautiful breed full of energy I also have a 3 year old male 5 kilo jack Russel and there the best of friends (sometimes) we get stopped a hundred times on each walk with people pointing out the size difference lol she hasn't been neutered thus far I'm planning on her having 1 litter preferably with another cane corso but there aren't many in the uk so it may be a Rottweiler, bullmastiff etc which will be an interesting cross.
I have a Cane Corso annnnnd some questions. She looks like this standard (in my uneducated opinion) but is small! She's 11 months and only 25 kilos. Lean, not skinny. What does that mean? She's mixed or a runt or what!?
Citri Bell they grow until they are 24 months. It's good to grow them out slowly so its easy on their back legs. Feed 3% of her adult weight (approx 45kg within standard haha!) so feed 1.35kg per day of a good raw diet or good quality grain free kibble ie Taste of the Wild (follow guide). You should not worry let her grow into her skin, when she hits 2 years then you will truly know what you have bought. A lot of research into breed and breeder is what is required with Corso especially. There are a lot of knock offs. Good luck
She should be at least 80# by this age. Yes, some bloodlines continue to mature for 2-3 years but they get the majority of their size by 1 year of age. The rest is just filling out.
I have a female Cane Corso. Her name is Mia. She is 3 years old and 105 lbs. Brindle.About 4' 2 long. Abnormally big for a female. It all depends on the lineage.
Thank you guys for your helpful replies. I hope she is a slow grower and will be a bit bigger. Other than jumping and bursts of craaaaaazy energy, she's great! I will wait and keep feeding =)
I am from Texas, but live in Poland. I was in the forest the other day and saw a 180 Cane Corso. Proportionate, no visible hip dysplasia etc. All muscle! He was almost 2 years old, I believe. That's when I started wondering if my dog is small lol.
Sad yeah thats sad. Dogs are pack animals and had someone raised it in right way that dog would be no danger to a cat in the household. Owner being Alpha and" everyone" else is " family" . They' re not all that way.
YourBrother I think what he meant was to do a video like this on the dogo argentino, about the (breed standard) . Which by the way I agree too , so Zeke if ur reading this plz do a video on the dogo Argentino's standard plz and thank u
There is something wrong with the american Cane Corsos. Maybe it's because of the working heritage vs show dogs. Compared to the eruopean ones, the americans appear to be smaller and have less wrinkles (and wrinkles are a must for a corso, no matter what your standards say). Some of the dogs from this video look more like amstaffs than corsos (also, here, the cropping of ears and tail is considered animal cruelty). My male corso, which is considered tall and of average build, is 120lbs (55kg), 28" (70cm) at the withers and appears to be more slender the the corsos seen in your videos. I've seen some hulking behemoths of 180lbs, which are obviously disqualified at shows, but that is the extreme. I've also seen some weird colors, like inverted brindle (black stripes on formentino), which, in europe is 100% presa canario.
My corso's ears are cropped and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's actually healthier for the dog (especially if he's used for hunting and/or he swims a lot) my vet told me (he's in his late fifties) that a lot of younger vets won't crop or dock and most of them aren't really taught the procedure anymore.
Hey I really admire your channel I need to know if my cane corso fits breed standards I want to share you the picture of my puppy I need honest review from you only can you please send me your mail I’d so I can share the pictures and details . Thank you
Smh! Historical facts the ears where always cropped! That's the historical look of the breed forever! Well until now because it's band in European countries! No wrinkles on face? Wrong! Blues and blacks are bigger... they show more of their Neapolitan ancestry than other colors... so keep in mind, blue and blacks will have bigger lips and will slobber more... I have a blue and my my mine grew to be a size of a pony lol

Once you get this breed, you will never go back. Such great dogs, I can't wait to get another lol
If u are really concerned about breed standarts u can start with stop promoting boxer mixes
Why would I do that? Boxer mixes are what the registries based the breed standard on!

Although the breed standard says "ears not cropped" they continue to crop the fuck out of them.
GREEK HIP HOP EVENTS Depends on what standards. AKC allows both cropped and uncropped ears.
That's the FCI standard... AKC and others DO ALLOW cropping. FCI used to until they pussied out and gave in to the Animal Rights crazies
WorkingK9 forreal those animal right hippies go crazy if you crop a dogs ears haha
So if the American kennel club it's ok with it,who cares what the rest of the world thinks about it.

Cane corsos are the most inconsistent breed on the planet, its never full corso it has to have some boxer or some great dane

Futekihito humans actually bred dogs to have floppy ears so technically it's classed as kinda being a deformity t
Futekihito yes nature says ears and tail. They are needed for survival in the wild. Although Nature does not put huge hanging ears on wild animals. Those are a liability to a wild animal, in many ways. Huge floppy ears are a freakish creation, of domestic breeding. Which is fine since domestic dogs do not live and survive in the wild.

Domestic dogs are man made creations, not wild animals. They are no longer Wolves. Most breeds would not exist at all, if not for humanbeings.
Spaying and neutering are far more detrimental to the health and well being of a domestic canine, then cropping ears and docking tails. Plus spaying is a major surgery for a female dog. Surgery alone has pain and possible complications. But nobody bitches around about that.
