Andras Schiff is my favorite pianist! I am amazed at the vast quantity of music he knows from memory, and also all the languages he speaks. I enjoy the master classes he gives. This interview brought out the fun, playful side of him. Thank you for posting!
Thank you so, so much. I will never tire of this Israeli/Hungarian episode. Goes right inside my heart. As the years pass, I also enjoy Bartok more and more. Musikalisches Opfer, you give us great gifts.
Thank you very much! I saw this video many years ago and I found it truly lovely, then, for some reason, it disappeared… I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I did!🎶
Maestro has the outmost esteem and love for Bartok as much as a musician such as a human being. And his moving words about Bartok’s concerto testified it. You are welcome!🎶
Thank you for posting this. I am very much a Bartok lover and listening to these two wonderful pianists discussing these pieces really brought joy to my early morning. I must say the last piece that Arie and Andras played together was pure delight. Thank you once again.
@@musikalischesopfer I think it's later than that. Probably 2013 or so. I remember seeing these when they were first posted by the Israeli TV's youtube channel. This is his second appearance on this program. In the first one they talked about Bach only. There were also some nice episodes with Murray Perahia, Stephen Kovacevich and Robert Levin.
Schiff, a wonderful person and artist, thank you. Can someone please tell me the name of the last short song. Thank you(which plays during the subtitle)

@@kovvvas You are right!🙏🏻 I checked the list of episodes from 2013; It is number 322 cs.nyu.edu/~davise/personal/intermezzo/EpisodeList.html
@@musikalischesopfer It's a shame the episodes are now blocked on every country except Israel. Wish I could see them.
