This is basically the same platform as the WK Jeep Grand Cherokee. Two battery sizes will fit, one is slightly smaller physically and a whole lot easier to install. Plus AFAIK it's slightly cheaper. I know because I actually had the smaller Mercedes OEM battery in my GC ;-). PS - on my modern diesel (2017) it won't start if it's not warm enough....
Jeff has been living in a fantasy world for many years now ... the rest of us are well aware that almost all German vehicles have a reputation of poor reliability, expensive repairs and a legacy of never ending issues that increase over time.
You know about the secret menu? How to get it up on your dash-display; engine off- key to position 2- press call button and then ok button within half a second on steering wheel- hold both down for several seconds.... Then vehicle data pops up on display. Click ok so that you enter vehicle data. Now you can see whether current is going into your battery, or out from the battery. Now it probably says e.e. minus 5 amps... Start the engine and check that it changes to positive amps, it's charging...
I had 2010 GL350, big money pit. Diesel emissions equipment issues replaced then Mercedes replaced it all again with class action settlement. Air suspension had issues. I lost a lot of money on that suv. Got about 26mpg, but diesel is too expensive so didnt really save fuel money
@@op2myst Yep I'm starting to feel some of the pain of owning this thing. I have till April next year on the modified extended warranty on the emissions issue that was replaced 50k miles ago on the class action lawsuit.
I had same issues afterwards. Always a mystery to them why it’s all clogged and my fuel economy turned to shit. Dealer says I need a new engine. Never buying Mercedes again. Stick to Japanese engineering.
I have an S350 Bluetec with 102K miles, 10K of which I put on it. I've had to put $7K in it during that time, but funny enough, none of it was related to the powertrain. (Air strut, electronic parking brake, keyless go handle among other things).
@@jeffscars2713 By the way, that idea of warming it up for a minute before driving really isn't necessary on a modern diesel. Just drive moderately until it's warmed up.
