However, as I'm becoming more enlightened as to his views, I'm extremely impressed and encouraged.
He approaches each topic with confidence and clarity which is refreshing.

The Fix is slowly becoming a conduit for knowledge and awareness between young people and matters of national importance. Prior to this interview, I had never even heard Mark Golding speak and I sat through this entire interview and found it quite enjoyable. I’m not sure if this was a deliberate move by The Fix team or it’s something that kinda just “happened”…either way, I think it’ll have tremendous impact. Soon…officials who want to reach the younger demographic will seek out The Fix as THE platform to do it. Can you imagine? The Fix: the voice of young people. Congrats!

The female interviewer, Ari, should expend much effort in making her loud laughter less disruptive. Quite often, during interviews, her laughter thwarted and obscured responses from the interviewees. A bout of training in decorum will help to refine her public comportment.

Honestly, I am one of the apathetic people towards politics and politicians, but listening to Mr Golding talk about the issues facing our society, my gut tells me his heart and intentions are in the right place and I believe he has the ability to be a great leader of this country. It seems some people do not understand what state of emergency is. It is not the same as a constant police presence. The implications of an SOE are very scary especially if rule of law is suspended. I did not get the impression that she really understands what it means. I’m glad he made a point to highlight the difference between an SOE and what he sees as crime fighting and active police presence.

Ground breaking interview for “The Fix” ⭐️
Great conversation… appreciate Mr Golding for his stewardship in the PNP and his outlook for our country and its people. One of the ways I think the government can help create and foster a better Jamaica, is by helping to create a more formal, inclusive and socially accepted business model for our people where the government can more fairly apply rules to guide their operations. This idea have been applied to the taxi operators and can also be adopted to suit our small business operators, street and market vendors and to many other operations in our country. Be it that some of these ventures will require direct government and/or private sector involvement to help steer its implementation. Where there is chaos it creates disorder but where organisation exists people will be more inclined to operate in a more rational manner and hence adhere to the rules of the society.
Hate the political tribalism in this country but honestly Golding comes across as authentic and competent in this interview. Only time will tell though.

Great effort here!! A lot of us have not been familiar with Mark Golding or even here him express his sentiments about JA. A lot of us have assumed that based on his complexion, he would not be able to relate to the "man on the street". Based on this interview(thank you) that idea should be retired. He appears to be in firm grasp of the serious concerns of the Jam poor people, which a lot of Jam still is. I like that, and I am confident that he is not just

NO ONE PARTY IS GOING TO PLEASE EVERYBODY, but dis yah one yah, JLP, needs to be gone. They seem to foster and facilitate CORRUPTION, right from the TOP, so everybody a try to see if they can get "a piece of the next person", w/o being caught. The prevalence now is frightening.
Mark seems to be coming to terms with the position he has been thrust into, that of becoming leader of the PNP. It's clear he has been reluctant to take it on, as he so ably stated, fully understandable. Right now he could benefit from a Public Relations Personal assistant, who is very skilled. And please do more of these interviews with him, if possible. He can only benefit positively, because he seems genuine.
We need people in government TODAY, who are not just there to become the next wave of millionaires, at the demise of the "Man on the Street".
