@2:45, "...get out of my way, human. I'm out to conquer the world !" lol On a more serious note, you've got to admire the move programming of the robot; fast and efficient.
@@Thomreise it was 10 years ago so probably around 2800 elo or something i guess, magnus could potentially beat it.. I'm just saying it could be 2800 idk if it's like 2000 lol
oh!..good question...didn't notice about that...Maybe there are some other pieces, or probably the robot will just start to move the ''pawn'' like the promoted piece...idk
These were the players/people/spectators that i recognized in the background: Carlsen, Carlsens dad, Gelfand, Kramnik, Nepomniachtchi, Hammer, Mamedyarov
What's interesting is that it probably took more time and manpower for the technology behind the moving of the arm than it did for actually writing the chess program.

cut the electricity, and just keep the man..
Once The Computer Wii Ullian Checkexpert had wondered... Handshake or Checkmate? That is the question of my fate!!! At 2:38 THE LOGICAL ANSWER: I gonna cut your hand my friend! For he today who sheds his blood with me... Shall be my brother!
Difference in processing power. Computers are extremely great at calculations and processing all you have to do is give it enough power and instructions. In this robot has calculates all possible moves for the all opponents' possible moves and also calculates the next moves which is impossible for human brain to calculate these all. And of course it litetally defeats any human in chess. In fact chess is a quite simple game for machine.
They could also use a camera. Although these days technology is a lot better than back in 2011. Just by looking at the colour of the pieces you could achieve the same thing, but of course the fancy board is probably more reliable.
ZeroHero I suggest you take another technology lesson. You do not need to recognise the shape of the piece in order to know what piece it is. The board always starts the same, and you can only move one piece per move. By taking a picture at the end of every turn you can see what space is now empty and which is now full that wasn't empty. The only move that moves 2 pieces is castling where there are only 2 places you can castle. It would be easy to see which side you castled on. Also read my whole comment. I did say at the end that the board detecting the pieces positions would probably be more reliable.
ZeroHero It works much the same as the DGT board and could work just the same. Since the only point behind this is the ability for the robots to read and then physically move pieces on the board a camera would be a viable method. I think it would be much better for the robot to have its own camera so that it is more like a robot that is able to play chess than a robot which is an automatic chess set if you know what I mean. You could give it any table and any set and it would still work provided you tell it how big the board is.
its is most probably a special board with special chess pieces, just my guess but you could make a system where each piece has a certain identifier at its bottom and the board is constantly being scanned each turn to "see" where the pieces are.

Magnus right there being proud of his senior:
the robot
Every time robot makes its move, it sounds like it is mad
Plz produce more affordable chess robots. I like it very much.
How hard is it to put the focus of the shot on the chessboard??
Wonderful match against Hans, cannot view any computer involved!
Same robot that broke that kid's finger
Unfortunately, you're wrong !
Magnus and Nepo both are there.
Imagine vladimir putin plays against the robot and the robot purposely plays the worst moves lol
thats likely fellow yba player
Impresionante la interacción con el robot

that feeling where you know any move you make your opponent is gonna respond with a better one... i live that life often... frustrating
THEY MUST HIRE A NEW CAMERA MAN
If Sarra Conor was here she would blow this machine away
The Chess Robot's Brute Force Algorithm obviously didn't feel the need to pick up Kramnik and throw him across the room
Jesus, I never knew Kramnik was so tall. Look at him!
He's 6'5"
The robot cheated. When it excused itself to go to the garden shed for some WD-40, it was checking Stockfish on its iPhone.
Was that Magnus Carlsen in the background?
Sure Magnus was there
Okay thanks I thought so :)
Magnus is everywhere
lol
+John Chapman And I recognized there Boris Gelfand, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Shak Mamedyarov and David Navara too.
2:46 machine refuses draw haha
I bet carlsen is thinking he could probably beat the robot
iTeCnus I bet he's thinking he could beat kramnik
Nah. He knows that he can not, thats why he never plays against one.

NO. No magus runs away from machines.

In Soviet Russia, chess plays you.
😂
If the robot promotes, how does it choose the piece he wants to promote to?
+Vincent Farrugia there are 4 Queens (2 Whites and 2 Blacks) right behind the Robot.
+Isaac Orlich he means if robot wants to promote to knight for example
oh!..good question...didn't notice about that...Maybe there are some other pieces, or probably the robot will just start to move the ''pawn'' like the promoted piece...idk

The robot comes with a 3D printer, if it's missing a piece it will create one then promote with it.
Lol I hope that's not just a joke.

Impressive work of the russians again

@IneenRoes Isn't that technology already in place? I.E. Car manufacturing factories?
2:17 Tfw you are losing to the robot and you play h6.5 for complications
Which engine did the Robot make use of?
It appeared to be pretty good. As the clip is from 2011, it is probably Rybka.
RuudJH I would like tot have one. It must be very expensive.
+Rudy Slotboom There are a lot of Opensource engines, that can beat any GM without problems.
??? who won? what happened? what was the final board state?
Da robot :)
The position was equal and they agreed (I don't speak russian but kramnik knew it was a draw and the robot couldn't understand it)
Is someone operating the machine @ 4:50? That person with the control panel thingy.
Is a beautiful robot 1
Amazing

it is to be invented yet the robot which takes first the own piece that is going to capture, as it is correct
