1:59 TONS of players just don't get that. A perfect harmony is okay but sticking that fifth twice as he did here (it performs the function of 5 in one chord, 1 in the next) and it gives that 1 to 5 chord effect instead of that 7th sound (which I find less pleasing most of the time).
What a gentlemanly presentation...
Douglas Gray
I've never heard him talk before. He seems like a genuinely nice laid back guy.
Bumblefoot is awesomeness
3:35 reminds me of "You're my best friend"
nice! this time he turned on the volume! great lesson, incredible guitar player
Guess who else likes this piece?

Brian may's bending is one of the most tasty out there...
Roughnight Freddie's bending got himself killed.
Omg!!! Finally!!! I thought I was the only one who always thought this. Good to know I'm not alone. Going back to bed.
Along with Gilmour
What a monster guitarist...And Brian is also god :)
Ron, u da man
You should do Billy Joel!!
He's such an amazing pianist!!
Just another WTF video with Ron....This guy is superhuman.
Brian May is God!!!
at 2:55 seriously. How did he just do that? I mean without any forethought.
Rick Hankins Music Theory my friend.
xthatGhomiex yes. but besides that, mastery of the instrument.
Rick Hankins Well, of course, god only knows how familiar he must be with the fretboard.
In case you haven't seen it, there's a video where he plays Aces High as a guest in a band and he plays both guitar lines throughout the song.
Don't worry mate..he is not human.
Do Dave Gilmour
He's playing thirds alot
"That Kind Of Stuff with Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal"
Brian is truly a fabulous player!
Thal is an amazing guitarist.
such a humble person ., i remember you played sweet child at showtime here in the Philippines and you're f'king amazing ..
I really like how you explain Brians approach but to make it perfect I think you should have pointed out at some point that Brian never played his harmonies like this (at least not that I know of) but always did it one line at a time in the recording studio. I think that is quite an important detail to understand how he achieved that harmony effect.
Apart from that: Super lesson!
Ron playing all the harmonies simultaneously in such a casual manner is such a Ron thing to do...
These lessons are a million times better with just a wee bit of amplification for sure
Brian May. What an amazing guitar player and composer he was. So many beautiful solos, melodies, harmonies and songs.
Nice. I think bumblefoot might have played harmonies that May innovated effects and techniques for with his hands. Lmao
Fantastic!
It's always bothered me that this shape is not made in a single neck configuration.
It's so cool looking.
The only other guitar player I've seen so clearly dissect other players is Joe Bonamassa.
outstanding musician
Really cool!
Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘
Who makes that guitar
Ron is a great guitar player and musician, this informations about Brian May stile, licks and all things is very good and usefull, but this audio edition of this video is very bad. This guitar tone is not good and it is very lower.
everything you explain makes sense.. idk why or why now but it does..love your commentary..\m/
Always been a Bryan May's fan but this video shed a light on how great he was, very simple and yet so genius.
All these lessons would be really great if he simply turned the amp up/on.
dont need it!!!!!!!! it's just a quick bing bang get it??
i like ron but he replaced brian may's solo on the song catcher in the rye i like both solos but why replace brian may?
I'd imagine Axl was totally responsible for that, not Ron himself
@@tribeshift i know but just why?
@@theprotowelwaver46 - only Axl knows and I doubt he even he could recall why he made the decision to not use Brian's solo.
@@tribeshift probably cause ron was new in the band and brian's solo was about 8 years old and axl probably just said put a new solo on that
1:02 always with me always with you
Wow! Is that a tonelab?? It sounds like poo! Ron's playing is fantastic as always (as in ridiculously fantastic) but the tone... oh god the tone...
You should do a guitar gods slash lesson
+aquajew3000 We'd love to... maybe in the next batch
+Louder Noise I bet Slash is tired of those.
And both are associated with GNR 😂
Math makes for tasty music. :D
Do slash please
BRIAN MAY ...MEHH
