The thing with Billlie is that I think it's very much intentional that their title tracks are more on the generic side and don't have the same Billlie sound the b-sides do. Their whole concept is about finding your "b side" your unconscious/true self that you hide from everyone. So the title track is kind of like their "a side" that everyone sees while the b-sides are the actual b side that is "hidden" and more special.
Yeah I completely get that, I’ve still felt a certain uniqueness and “billlie” sound with their other two title tracks tho which just seemed to be completely missing this time!
Love that we have the same top two songs 🤩 They performed Brave at their showcase too and it was so good! It's insane how refined their music is just at their third mini - as a 10 year old kpop fan, they're such a breath of fresh air 💖
the one, two of mOOn palace and $un palace is sooooooo satisfying. how is this album so good??? three of ‘em in less than a year, and they’re ALL amazing??? 😭
yk the only thing i wouldve changed abt the title track was making that crazy guitar solo thingy a bigger presence in the song. it was featured in the mv teasers and i went ballistic over it so i was really sad it was so much quieter and buried under other things in the actual song ,, but other than that i dont have any criticisms for the album, i love every song and i just think billlie is such a fantastic group
Something interesting I noticed is that Sun Palace is a reference to Moon Palace, obviously, but Sun Palace actually sounds more similar to A Sign. So I looked it up and both Sun Palace and A Sign were produced and written by the same people. Although maybe the lyrics of Sun and Moon have a thing idk. Just a little fun fact I guess lol.
Literally I had to listen to the whole album a second time just to get my brain to finish processing how good it was. They're definitely my bias group, I love them so much
I'm about to pay them a huge compliment... If I wasn't paying attention, I would swear this was a red Velvet album with all the harmonizing. I'm really impressed.
back 2 where we belong is just that song fr, it feels like another type of song like swan by oh my girl, ending credits by taeyeon and in my dreams by rv, i love these types of songs so much and it feels so nostalgic
remember that the way you judge that tt is a lot due to how much you heard that concept this recent years (as you said(?)). so don't be that surprised lol that they choosed that one bcs it's actually pretty rare to hear a rock (not rockish) concept from kpop GIRLGROUPS (not bands)
Diffinetly the strongest mini of this year so far for me, if the title was more interesting I would even overlooked the fact that this is a mini album and placed it alongside "Forever 1" and "Face the Sun" at the top of my album list of 2022
I understand where you are coming from, but I think the reason they made the TT ring ma bell, was bc of the name and also generally I think maybe it fit with the kind of concept they were trying to go for? I’m not entirely sure, and tbh I like the b-sides more on this one, but I also felt the same way with tbop: chapter 1 as well. I think also from a mv standpoint it fit best with the monster and the whole theme of it.
Back 3 where we belong reminds me a lot of in my dreams by red velvet and who’s the joker reminds me of like the desert theme from Pokémon ruby and sapphire LMAO

I don't think like you, there isn't a lot of rock, pop-rock songs in girslband specially except Dreamcatcher, now there is Rolling quartz, Yena, a little bit G-idle but that's all, ring ma bell isn't generic i like it even if i don't love pop rock at all! What is so generic and too many is the retro disco 70-80s sound and songs, there were too many type of this 70-80 retro and i'm tired of retro disco specially after Ive - After like, they didn't go for a modern sound with just the sample of i will survive in just in a rap part, no they did a total retro disco 70-80s sound with autotune in the only Gaeul's singing part and distort Leeseo's voice at the finale chorus ad this part sounds like a nightcore sound, destroyed Leeseo's voice but she has a part with no autotune at the beginning of the song but Gaeul has autotune in the only part she's singing, i can't bear to hear with this type of voice! And I will survive is so known, i'm tired of this song and they didn't add anything to the sample, they put it after the chorus in the rap part and after the chorus, and at the end and we hear i will survive sample all the time that i remember just i will survive lol, no i love the chorus with wonyoung's part, so catchy wothout autotune and the rap part but that's all, the autotune, nightcore sound, i can't bear it! Then we have at the same time again a retro disco Twice song - Talk like talk, a very generic and forgettable song! I prefer their japonese title Celebrate, it's more retro summer pop, that's fresh but after like and Talk like talk aren't fresh, new! My satisfaction should be the title track

billlie never disappoints when it comes to bsides,, i was FLABBERGASTED
AA++ album. Yes it had Red velvet esque similarities but Billie delivered it with their own unique touch.👏 Quality mini from them👌.
