To me, all imperial guard regiments are underrated. We are talking about millions of men and women who are laying down their lives to keep humanity safe. Yes, they are weak and not as strong as a space marine or ogryn, but they are fighting to see humanity thrive. Many will never see their home world again and everyone is sent to die in or on an unknown planet or landscape filled with evil. In the end, all imperial guard regiments deserve a moment of praise even if their names can't be mentioned individually. Long live the Imperial Guard! They are the last line of defense.
We're also basically every other line of defense with a sprinkling of inquisitors at the first line and significant quantities of space marines and sob thrown in everywhere else
The space marines could never take a planet by themselves, the space marines could never hold a planet for hundreds of years, the guard always get the short end of the stick, they are the only force that can and have held the Imperium floating for over 10 000 years, they are the hammer and the anvil of the Imperium! Long live the guard!!!
Imagine being a chaos marine, a veteran of the Long War. You've lived ten thousand years (time-warping effects aside), battling and training that entire time. Astra militarum are without a doubt my favorite imperium faction for the fact that they are indeed human and at the same time can get the job done. I enjoy the ogryn as my favorite abhuman strain and the lines of massive tanks and artillery they deploy to batter the enemies of mankind into submission.
I feel like if they were to take the top 10% of Guardsman (Good fighters, experienced, that weren't insane) and modified them just a little bit to make them more powerful, that would completely change the game. For the good of the Imperium of course.
Question: do they have helicopters in 40k? Helicopters that operate the same way as todays helis? Question2: Which would be more formidable, an early 21st century 3rd generation MBT or a single Leman Russ?
if you Apply real physics to that match the leman russ gets destroyed by most modern mbts and as for helicopters the valkyries do their roles as hovercraft but I can't see why not.
The Imperiums tech LOOKS archaic. Key word LOOKS. A leman russ tank would be close to impervious to most modern weapons, and its ammunition will annihilate whatever modern armor can achieve. Oh, and it's actually an STC tractor, not a tank.....
A Leman Russ is basically an overpowered tractor with WW 1 tank treads, guns taped all over, and metal welded to everything including the fuel. So to answer your question maybe.
I love the Imperial guard, I have a well painted 2000 point army that I play regularly, but even then I can't say I love the Leman Russ. It makes no sense as a vehicle, let alone one that is meant to endure combat. Let's break it down: Turret - It has no negative gun depression, it can't aim down. It is too small to fit the gun in (Where does the breech go?) and even if it fits, the commander gets torn in half every time the gun fires as his seat is technically INSIDE the gun breech. How does the gun reload? In the books it says there's a loader but he can't fit in the turret. Hull - Vertical armour is bad (exceptions for certain composite armour types like on Leopard 2A4) and is riveted... riveted armour was considered outdated in WW2, the rivets when hit become bullets inside the tank. Riveted armour also requires a constructed frame for the armour to attach to, which limits the internal volume of the fighting compartment. Speaking of which, how are they meant to store ammo for the main gun when the fighting compartment alone is meant to house four men? If you include the rediculous sponson guns that is... Just get rid of those. Running Gear - Firstly, if the engine and transmition are so small that they can fit into that pinched little engine bay, could you not extend it to the sides a bit to fit some actual fuel tanks? Next is the suspension, this is my second biggest problem behind the rediculously tiny turret that kills the commander whenever you fire. THIS TANK HAS NO SUSPENSION. Do you realise how big of a problem this is? It's also a problem for the Chimera as well. With no suspension the road wheels are fixed in place, this vehicle can get stopped by a garden wall if it's built sturdily enough, also it can't absorb recoil fron the gun making the turret ring bear all the stress, if it doesn't have an internal turret basket (which makes sense if the ammo has to be passed up from the hull) this can mean when you fire the commander gets torn in half and then the turret flips backwards off your tank as the turret ring breaks. TL;DR - A badly designed vehicle that wouldn't make sense in any real world situation. As an answer to your question #2, a modern MBT can punch through roughly 600mm of Rolled Hemogenous Armour (RHA) at 2 Kilometers with little to no trouble, a leman russ, by my measurements can have no more than 300mm of armour on the front glasis plate before they have no room to put the driver. 50mm armour tops on the turret, add in the other 50mm mantlet you are looking at 100mm best estimate. A modern MBT can see a target, get gun on target, and then fire at the target in less than 10 seconds. The Leman Russ might have a futuristic gun, but without suspension it's gun stabiliser is going to have a hard time servising a target, it would have to stop and hope to god the enemy is above them on a hill because it can't bring it's gun down to actually hit anything lower than it.

Why the imperial guard is the best faction: Look into the mirror dear reader what do you see? Correct! A human! Answer this next question, what would you fight for? I always imagine that the fusiliers equipment is similar to that of the imperial stormtroopers, but are nowhere near as well trained
Astra Militarum is so much better than the Supermen of the Imperium. They often have to go it alone or wait extended periods to get any help from the Astartes. They are humanity's salvation, not the poster boys.
Do the bed ribbons that the Catachanians wear in the head a homage to Rambo ?
Can you do a video on every Imperial Guard Legion?
Over a million worlds in the Imperium. Most have to pay the tithe of supplying regiments. That is a LOT of videos.
imperial guard was my favorite. I think i liked trolling myself by paying for mere overpriced toy soldiers
i would like to know more on the imperial guard steel legion thy sound cool
Think ww2 german panzer grenadiers, the models also look like ww2 germans XD
Hurrah , life in the guard
Gimme my Mordant Acid Dogs and Colonel Bane.
Chemdogs for the win, and scrapping
Aren't ALL IG regiments underrated?
2:42 is a Pelican drop ship from Halo
Strangely enough I have never heard anything bad or discouraging of the Guard, besides maybe how they're meatbags... I am guessing any disrespect for them comes from star wars clone trooper or universe fans lol
Symtexians would work well with Kriegers
Suggestion:
The most feared imperial guard force.
@Lord Admiral Spire personally id say the death korps as they just fight till they die and tend to advance to the enemy line while there artillery continuously fire at the enemy but surly there is a regiment that uses fear as a tactic like the night lords
@Lord Admiral Spire ow ye they are a very strong force and very capable for sure but again there not really scary in a scene of the regiment turning up and the enemy shitting them selves the closes id could come too is a tempest regiment but even then there just heavy hitters think im just over thinking it tbh
tell us somthing about Praetorian Guard please :)
They were in a film called Zulu lol
What about a walkthou of this, is the Emperor of Man good og evil?? Do he truly want whats best for menkinde or did he deliver us to chaos?
I thought Jopal was just something created by TTS....

Suggestion
Super heavy Tanks and all of the variations

What, were The Spire Borns born in spires?? Is that why it's so obvious their name??
The Hammer of the Imperium
When in doubt; trowh a few billion guardsmen at it
Is that a Kv2 or a Ragnarok in the beginning bof the video?
For the Emperor!!!
Holy fuck this hard to listen to. Appreciate the effort though!

I wear armor of dirt. As a status symbol obn
Jopall guardsmen > Krieg guardsmen

39.00 she's a babe!
52.16 was a Tanith 1st trooper.
My freind always said that Star Wars will beat anything I keep telling him that Warhammer 40k would easily defeat SW he still does not listen
Just mention to him one day that all the shock and awe caused by the Death Star. The imperium does the same thing often enough they have special ships whose job is to just go to a planet that’s about to be wiped from existence just so they can collect the final death screams and cries of trillions of people.
Just to bottle it up into a single tank shell that will tear apart continents with the wailing and screaming of millions of lost souls.
@@micheal5973 thanks for the tip
