My copium is that From Software is already working on a sequel / DLC with a multiplayer oriented campaign. It could accomplished what the fifth generation couldn't do with this new community coming from ACVI.
Im gonna piss some people off with this one, and im afraid im going to have to do something i hate doing and "argue from authority" with this. I have a long history with this series starting in AC1 and ending in "4th gen" (The games peaked in gen 3/3.5, by miles... IMO :P). I have competition experience in those games (LAN), fighting games and MMO's (top 50 global guild in GW1) though most of my comp/"ranked" play has been in arena shooters (Quake 3 CPM and UT2004), all this spanning about 22 years(every single GPU Ive owned from 1999 to 2012 was won in comp). Ranked in AC6 suffers from the same issues a lot of ladder games suffer from with "season resets" but its further exacerbated by how FromSoft has chosen to implement things. Promo periods, rank resets etc. all force a surge in players early on that peters out, and forces those who care more about showing off rank but maybe arent the greatest technical players to run ultra-meta or rat builds to maximize their promo period. I could go on for literal pages on how its mishandled. While the core experience is certainly there and its enjoyable the fact is the actual pvp in armored core 6 is shit. There is no saving it without major mechanics and core systems overhauls, you will not capture and retain new pvp players with how its structured. The stagger/stun/stance break/whatever whoever wants to call it mechanics are too heavily leaned on. The lack of parts and the lack of performance difference between many parts while having no tuning mechanic and single standouts in each category forces people into using those parts only. Nachtreiher legs and Basho arms being some of the more blatant examples of this. Theres a literal book to be written about almost every part category, largely legs and arms, and how the line between light/med/heavy is so blurred. This is gonna get into too much for a YT comment because I beleive there is much more discussion on particulars between players who stuck with it rather than myself who have long jumped ship already. Sorry for the book, gl hf.
I think a lot of people would agree. As someone who participated heavily in tournaments (especially 4/FA), the mechanics in those games promoted a variety of builds that are not only fun but also viable. Unless you were running dual blades online because those builds exploited the terrible netcode. In AC6, you have a very limited pool of builds that take advantage of the game's mechanics while everything else feels like a downgrade.
You nailed it. Promo periods especially are one of the most frustrating things.. i had won 7 of my s rank promo matches (against cool builds btw, just had gotten lucky at that point) and then ran into 3 different rats in a row and got slapped down.. this was like my 6th time in s rank promo btw lol.. hopefully the next AC game will be different 🤷♂️
A stagger mechanic could work but they have gotta come up with something better. Just a quick stun animation, your energy gets depleted & maybe your FCS has to reboot or something. Being helpless to do anything while you get wailed on & take extra damage is just whack.
@@GallowayJesse I feel like AC4/FA's primal armor system was on the right track. Depleting it allows increased damage without making the AC become unusable.
Im inclined to agree with you, a season reset is more a bandaid than a fix, I know one thing I’d love to see is a buff to everything getting slept on without any good equipment getting nerfed to the point where nothing is fun to use
Im so glad i came across this. I thought 3v3 wasn’t connecting any matches because of problems on my end, I’ve also caught myself thinking that pvp has been neglected when I get connected to nothing but heavy flamethrower chasers
AC6 is my first AC game, played a lot of MechWarrior though. I stopped playing PvP in games in general for several reasons, but AC6 is the first game in years to make me want to queue up with players again since quitting LoL. I really don`t care so much for co-op tbh, but I just wanted to highlight how important this game has been and the impression it has left on me as a series newcomer. I'm currently just taking a double melee build I enjoy (no zimms) and playing in C-rank. I wish the 3v3 game mode wasn't dead, that looks like fun. Overall I hope we get some more parts/DLC and balance updates when FromSoft has less people committed to finishing the Elden Ring DLC on time.
Welcome aboard. It's nice to see how many newcomers AC6 has brought to the fold. Planning on trying any of the previous entries? AC4/For Answer is where I really got into PVP.
@@dsaBOSS Not planning on playing, maybe on watching (Bake Cakes mentioned something like that I believe). Thanks for the tip though! As a PC player with KB/M, looks like a bit too much hassle to set up. Since I don't have the nostalgia for the series and no burning urge to do PvP in other games at the moment, it would probably go over my head.
3 v 3 player seem to be played alot on closed room organized on discord Nothing can be helped on the ranked, maybe if they get bored, they jumped in ranked time to time
I totally gave up on ranked after it took me a good few grueling days of sweating against the missile rat builds just to get to b as well as getting creative with the map layout to waste their time out of spite. I use a very pulse blade oriented build and I've gotten quite good with it, but man. Going past c rank was a mistake
Ac6 was my first title in the franchise, since then I've played ac1, project phantasma, master of arena, and i'm now starting ac4's campaign. It's fun to see different stages of the game's identity over time. The community has been kind and it's generally been really cool to get more into mech games after playing hundreds of hours in titanfall 2 back in 2016. Hope fromsoft does a surprise patch or something because after reaching S rank and even 8th place globally for 1v1s (only for half a day or so) the game started to feel very stale. Feels like it's all just Lamm kite/rat, lrb shield tank, or zimm midweight.
I feel that pain. There was never a day i will not meet at least 1 meta. I tried to match in various hour but it's all the same. There is one worst time i met 3 larb, 1 lamm kite, and 2 double zimm shield. It's so boring. My coping mechanisms is my double zimm i forced myself to use and learn since any type of LW i can think of is immediately cancelled if i met lamm's or heavy larb shield. My advice, stay in custom match. People are usually more creative with their build there compared to whatever paintjob they had in ranked with exact same frame. I use mix and match build just to make the match fair and have fun.
Your not wrong. ACVI was a single player game with PvP tacked on. As opposed to a previous title ACV/ACVD which had a multiplayer focus. The map plays a massive role and with map stagnation comes build stagnation until someone finds the way to break that system. I would suggest that you come and try the PC version with Seamless CO-OP and invasions. It's far from perfect but it is engaging and the same builds don't always work, forces you to think. Very refreshing.
Inb4 after Shadow of Erdtree releases we will later get some kind of Armored Core VI updated version with a goofy name the use vi in a similar vain to AC4 & For Answer as well as AC5 & Verdict Day.
part of the problem is that AC6's hard lock, lack of turn rate limit, focus on stagger, practically no redline punishment and generally low level of customisation all come together to make a really underwhelming PvP experience, no matter the meta I really hope that 6.5 or 7 will heavily overhaul the game's basic systems so we get something closer to gen 3 or 5 in terms of PvP like yeah, those had their metas too, but there was enough wiggle room and skill expression that gameplay at low levels didn't look literally the same as gameplay at the top, just with progressively more homogenous builds the higher you go As for multiplayer co-op, gen 5 did that, but 4A fans outside of Asia had their heads so far up their asses that they wouldn't give gen 5 one look before deeming it trash just because it didn't have free flight, and that's how you ended up with all these weird bullshit myths about it being literally the slowest in the series etc. I'd love to see gen 5's co-op return alongside more stuff like its spirit of motherwill rematch Imagine the boss fights from Ace Combat infinity where one team is working to take down a giant boss while another team defends it but aboard something like the Strider or Motherwill
Couldn't agree more on your first paragraph. In terms of a single-player experience, it's more "fun" to be able to use almost any AC you want and do well with it. But things are very streamlined and aren't very punishing. Lightweights can pack insane damage, heavies can be fast, tanks can tank almost anything and out speed some mediums, etc. Lack of a more significant turn rate and use of hard lock means players don't have to care too much about positioning or maneuvering too much. Mismanagement of your Energy is fairly lenient especially on a lot of Generators. I'm sure lots of that has to do with there not being a huge amount of parts variety once you experience the game long enough. If there were more limitations or punishments for playing badly there really wouldn't be too much variety in available builds, but that also ironically leads to the opposite where making most combination viable means there's only a small handful of players gravitate towards anyway. Things that are overpowered in this game are overpowered because of their relation to core mechanics in the game. Staggers too fast, deals too much direct hit damage, can fly faster than should be able to, kicking too strong, etc.
Ranked is testing my love for PvP. I just get Negged all the time with no concept of Diff. by these other players lately. Yeah, I'm just a filthy casual who wants to have fun with my laser blades, but damn does it get annoying going up against speedy Kite Mosquitos or Missile Rats or Heavy Grenade Metal Gear clones. I can at least enjoy custom matches with my friends, but Ranked is just HELL. This is my first AC and I want to love PvP, but this toxicity where I get Negged for being different from the META makes it really hard. Part of me wishes that instead of a randomizer where you get matched with a totally random build, there's some kind of match making system that matches us with players that have similar builds or playstyles with each other. I know that obviously won't happen- one of my Twitch Followers said it best- "The game is supposed to be about adapting. You develop counters to other builds- it's PvP, not a Dating App." While that's true, I can't tell you how many times I keep getting screwed over by the randomizer system. (They could've at least asked me out for dinner first. LOL SMH FML) I make a kite and get a tank that blows me apart. I make a Blader, I get a Kitey Mosquito that always flutters just out of reach and shoots me down. How can you counter a Slot Machine where you almost never know what you're getting? I just wanted to have fun with my cool mech, not get fodderized over and over and over again. *Insert Boo-Womp* I often think about how the FOX I even made it to A-Rank and just how many L's away I am from getting Demoted back to B.
I got into S with Handle+LC and it was fun (that combo extension that the zimm can't do, oh man) i started some weeks ago the pvp but this time, i am gonna just chill, i will rank up only at the end of it, i wanna just try meme builds now (my beloved scudder and the pulse shield gun are the weapons i will try to make work)
Ac4/FA are my favs for pvp and it was easier to make “non-viable” builds still compete which I think was great. I also am a melee enjoyer and sword duels in those games were so intense at time splitting hairs of seconds to get your melee to connect. While I love AC6 I can say it is not my favorite of the series doesn’t quite bring that nostalgia and creativity when almost every build is the same
The heart of many issues in many patches stemmed from the ocellus tracking being far too strong (hardlock and lack of turn rate vaeiability would be less of an issue)
Seems like a serious oversight since there's only one de facto close range FCS, much like there only being one set of viable melee arms in the form of BASHO.
Before ranked you would have lots of 1v1 and 3v3 games with the custom matches. People also relied a lot less on meta because with the custom games there was no real reward other than the fun from the gameplay itself. Ranked gave an incentive for people to be as sweaty as possible due to wanting to climb rank, and losing your rank upon losing a match makes sense but that just results in people trying even harder. I loved custom matches and ranked really liked pvp. I stopped at lower A rank. Just had no fun anymore.
I would like a raid boss/mission system like v/verdict day. It would be nice to coop with friends. I only started playing pvp 2 days ago after finishing ng++ and my experience has not been stellar. 6/10 times i get stomped due to my inexperience, I can live with that as I can just learn to get better. The rest of the time my opponents disconnect after losing 1 round, rarely does my opponent fight to the end.
unfortunately PvE barely teaches you some of the most important aspects of PvP like range of engagement (FCS optimal range above all, spacing out different attacks etc), how to adjust dodge timing for lag compensation (for long range, dodging close range is more like a dream at this point), not to mention game straight up teaches you bad things like cancelling AB with back button, which is the worst way to cancel out of AB. I definitely feel you and without all the old players teaching ppl about this game here on youtube, I definitely wouldn't have gotten up to S rank twice myself 💀
@@rylaha1519 Unfortunately, I feel like that's been the trend in all AC games. A deep dive tutorial for PVP would be beneficial to players, since even the CPU arena only scratches the surface, so a resource people can have access to in-game would be a great addition IMO.
@@dsaBOSS I'm new to AC but knowing past fromsoft experiences to some degree from discussions etc i can see the tutorials & arena *tried* to teach players how to play well (tutorials especially taught things like AB increasing dmg & ACS dmg + decreasing for self, how missile lock works which most players simply missed) but yea there's definitely a lot more to it and even on youtube's Eng side there's bit of info gap still, for instance i relied on JP content for how to dodge every type of missile consuming the least EN which i don't believe there's anyone on our side covering.
i feel sad for players taking pvp seriously.. FROM don't have a strong history of supporting pvp.. it's not a habit in their business goals.. souls games pvp duels are a community thing before FROM made arenas to make matchmaking faster only.. balance patches rarely happens because FROM mindset is like how developers used to make games 20 years ago.. which is pushing the game in the most complete state and move to work on the next project.. the interesting thing to notice in the last two major games they made ( elden ring and ac6 ) they both contained balance issues in both pvp and pve.. which indicates that fromsoft balancing degraded in order to rush and release games as fast as possible.. prior to elden ring, we didn't hear or see bosses or items getting nerfed or buffed.. which shows that fromsoft maybe should focus more on balancing before releasing games.
I think From Soft should just make a new AC game with balance adjustments, new parts and overall a more refined system. Coming from a Fighting game background, season passes/resets long-term hurt the balance and lessen the community of the game, as well as inadvertently alienate people who didn't pick up ACVI for whatever reason. The more a game keeps getting updated to get fixed constantly is also really annoying and can lead to a lot of people burnt out due to changes. Would just be less of a headache to start somewhat clean with a sequel. Also it feels like this game was definitely made more for pvp than it was Single player. Not saying the campaign is bad, but it feels kinda lackluster compared to older games' campaigns, especially when you could recruit AI partner ACs to join you on your mission.
Fair points. I usually hear the opposite regarding AC6's single player vs PVP. I enjoy both, which of the older titles did you enjoy the campaign more? I personally really liked how they handled Last Raven.
I agree with the disadvantages of updating a game. I believe that AC6 needs adjustments, badly, but I think that players are hanging on with hope that things will improve, but since they are not going to improve, we will lose a great deal of players. On the other hand, I believe the game is more balanced for single player. Parts unlocks are often obvious upgrades rather than balanced additions, adding to a feeling of progress, and the missions are amazing, go and try a new game (it won't be long before you get all your parts back).
I was hoping we'd get more AC parts, missions and Arena battles, but nope, the "update" was a fatload of nothing, I *still* have no idea why Fromsoft even added the Ranked PvP mode, as I don't feel like it added anything to the game, or helped its longevity...
Honestly I’m a little guilty of using dual missiles and JVLN Beta a lot along with poking with a bazooka, but at least I try to close in for kicks, jukes, and pulse blade slashes I play a middleweight reverse-joint favouring close-mid range combat (with the occasional bazooka Hail Mary)
@@dsaBOSS And proud of it; Ephemera head, Mind Alpha core, Basho arms, and Mind Beta legs; probably not the most durable build but it’s gotten me to high A-rank many times and I can end rounds under 20 seconds if I’m lucky
@@haxor7372Maybe slap the Mind Beta head on that build. 56 more stability, 800 lbs less weight & half the EN cost will keep you alive better than the 500 or so extra health you'd lose imo
The fact that there's no real long range options besides missle rats breaks PvP. Missle ratting wasnt as viable in 4A because you can actually shoot them instead of chasing them for eternity trying to get into range. Why use weapons that can only hit at 200 meters when you can missle rat from 600 meters away and not even get hit?
I have my s rank, but I don't play ranked anymore until last Thursday. i thought i would give it a try. I logged in and was paired against the same player 3 times. He was a reverse joint and all he did was kick spam. The issues I have with this is on my screen he was no where near me yet I was still getting stunned by the kick even taking damage despite at times being side on from him. This opened me up to a pulse blade attack. The guy clearly knew the reverse joint kicks are broken, so I reported him for using an exploit not that they will do anything about it. I decided to play custom games and to my surprise a numbered s rank joined my lobby. He was a lamm missles kite and all he did was run to the top of the map and spam missles and if I close, he would AB away from me or use hmmr. It was a very boring and disappointing match so I kicked him. It's now my policy to just kick those builds out. Same with any deul zimm players. So yes, I agree with the video that more map rotation is necessary but I would also say we need pvp purpose built maps as well with plenty of obstacles and places for cover. Latancy needs to be addressed because it doesn't matter how well you dodge if you're still going to end up taking the hit anyway. I can't believe I'm saying this but maybe they should consider an online part shop to allow for more customisation using that currency from winning ranked matches. So long as the parts stats in the shop are just like skins of existing parts in the game e.g. firmeza stats but looks completely different
You're absolutely right. Thankfully I'm a D casual so the builds are still quite diverse and it's not hard to find fun matches. I'm sure once you get to rank C plus it becomes a grind of meta mongoloids only.
This is why i just run a med-heavy bipedal with dual vientos and lcx weps, and themed it after sans from undertale. Ironically, its pretty tanky and fights zimmers decently well. Its my only successful comp ac.
I agree with you 1000% This season I don’t think I’ll be getting S rank but i not going to put it down. Armored core is armored core thanks enough for me to keep playing and I still have fun. I enjoy customs because I can play whatever I want and lose and have fun. Plus in customs, you see more variety and that also makes it more fun. Hope we can play one day and have fun with creative mechs.
@@dsaBOSS customs is a lot more fun when you play with people you know. You can actually play team battles 😆 I kid you not. All my friends are on Xbox and even if I got no one to play with on PlayStation, I still find lobbies and have a good time.
The only reason this game's rank is alive is thanks to that edgy red nameplate that's all. Honestly I've no problem with missiles builds who have the balls to face you head on, but those rats and heavy zimms keep you in an eternal combo, thats where i draw the line, my melinite sponsored heavy grenade boat has defeated many rats than i can hope for.
I made it to top 50 xbox last season. Knowing itll be the exact same gives me no reason to reachieve what ive already done. It's boring now and ill just stick to customs wirh friends.
Strong things in games dont need to be obnoxious. That's my biggest problem with this game. The strongest builds in ac6 are either untouchable or unkillable. With the state of this game, unless they were to DRASTICALLY change this game, Im good on this mid ass pvp. Hopefully they learn lessons for ac7/ac6.5. This games pvp just isnt fun.
now im playing armored core with mod bc since i tried to run ranks on pvp my first rank was A and the next S but im feeling in the same way like u Armored core need coop mission to be fun
FROM is done with AC6, no amount of balancing will change how the game fundamentally For now we can only just wait for new game that play like this & maybe we get PC armored core collection just so people can replay older AC game with analog controller added to test which AC people like to play the most As far i consider, AC6 is basically 3rd gen AC in modern control, FA is too far to be considered similar, while VD brought many MP aspect that make the game alive until its final shutdown recently
The lack of attention from From will keep this game niche and its potential under-realized. Could have been so easy to allow FFA or 2v2 multiplayer in the least.
Fromsoft has always abandoned AC, nothing new here. PVP is garbage because everyone uses the same exactly build. They need to remove or lessen the effect of stagger because players just build to stagger you AC used to be about skill, now its about feeling like youre a great player because you can stagger someone.
IMO the game would be so much better if getting staggered just gave you a quick stun & temporary debuffs. having your A/C completely disabled while taking extra damage is straight up ass.
God damn I feel you... I think the main problem are the inferior meta players, they ruin the game with lame play stile running away ecc. There is no patch for the behavior of meta inferior "player"
It's unfortunate seeing the meta promoting these play styles. I'm not as annoyed when I face missile rats on smaller maps, but on those wide open ones (which is more often for me)...it's more fun watching paint dry.
@@dsaBOSS yes I understand, also for me the main problem is not the meta in itself, is the play stile in it self from the players, this game unfortunately favorite brain off build
The devs do not care about this game. There is no other explanation. Even when there was updates, there was no reason to keep the details of what was coming so secret. They lack the energy to even inform us of what is going on for anything other than rank resets, which everyone can pretty just live without and not really care. I just did the S ranks. And going through A's was easy. But the moment you just S promotion, it is 80-90% massive kite builds. The number of people who lack spines to actually play is breathtakingly sad.
This game's pvp will be trash for a couple of years. period. We will see something good when the meta locusts will go away and die out on the most fashionable moneygrab. Until then, the campaign is a blast and there's mods to revive the gameplay.
It's so over. The game is just dying at this point, activity on xbox is terribile and on good days I get the same 3/4 people over and over. At least custom matches are more fun
I joined AC6 PVP late but I did buy the game when I came while eveyone was playing PVP. I am annoyed because I didn't know when the ranks reset, I just almost got to S ans then it reset lol. I've played both AC4 and ACFA PVP alot years ago. Like I said, I wasn't able to get to S because apparently I started playing too late, I was high A before it got reset. This is my experience and opinion from my limited time in Ranked, on the game and joining in late, my experience my different or be limited due to this. #1 - Its retarded to show the build of the enemy, why is this a thing. The fact the game allows you to copy whay the other oerson has is retarded to me. Sure you can see weapons they are using but they also give you the generator and booster information which is dumb as hell. Nobody should be able to copy your AC with the help of the game giving you that information purposely. Its like yeah l, I spent all this time making this AC just so people can copy my shit? Nice! #2 - I got to high A rank without using meta builds. Back in AC4 and ACFA I always ran a close combat or mixed build. I ran the same thing in ranked and was able to get high. Now, I did start running into problems with maybe the S players, not because of their skill nessisarily but the builds I guess, which I will explain in #3. #3 - The people I am losing to in ranked or that seem tougher are almost always heavy users. Typically they just bombrush and try to out dps you, the end. I found this harder to go against then most other builds for the simple reason of you have to almost play perfect with dodging and dps against them because of how much ap and stagger points they usually have. Like of a mid-light weight make a mistake and get hit with something, I can take advantage. Hit those heavys and its like you have to perfectly do the same thing another 2-3 times in order to do real damage (then they pulse armor). #4 - The play style of some people piss me off more than their AC. Majority of the people who played with cheese play style I beat, but it doesn't change the fact its annoying af and cheesy. I've only encountered one missle rat that actually pissed me off, the others I usually just bombrush and stomp. Usually its the same concept or play style, they pick a super fast AC, do some damage then run and hope time runs out. Literally the most pussy shit. Its one thing if we are fighting and then lets say 20-30 seconds are left, and you do it, or maybe if I did something cheesy and you did it back. People who purposely go into games to use that tactic are so pussy rofl, like even if they get to S doing that its meaningless because eveyone knows and views you as a pussy who has no skill in any other form of combat other than ratting away. Now if thats someones play style cool, but it doesn't change the fact you'll still be considered a pussy. #5 - long range is ass, like where is it? The range in this game is a joke, there basically is no long range other than missles. There is LONGER range but no long range which is trash #6 - why the hell did they make quad legs no longer fast on the ground, theh need to revert that shit, add it or make the hover legs a different type of leg/squad leg. #7 - Bro, maybe this is different for others but, alot of weapons make no sense. Like oh I'll use this shit machine gun with 0 range even though the other machine gun has way more range. The argument would be, yeah but it does more dps up close. My counter to this is, yeah but everytime you QUICKBOOST you can't fire the fucking gun! Meaninging, it logically makes more sense for those up close rapid fire guns to be on a super speedy light AC but since your fucking light you HAVE to dodge enemy attacks or get fucked up. But if you are dodging then thats time you aren't firing with the machine gun, thus its fucking useless Thus the longer range machine gun is superior because you can just put it on a bulkier AC and not have to dodge as much and just hold fire so you actually get use of the FUCKING gun So my thing is, on ACs that dodge alot, rapid fire guns seem a bit shitty due to the fact you can fire while dodging, so all dodging does is lower your dps. A bazooka makes more fucking sense because you just need to fire it ONCE for big damage, thus dodging a million times doesn't really effect dps unless you miss. For this reason alone a ton of weapons are basically useless to me unless they are on high stable ACS or high defense ACs. Can you make it work, sure, still doesn't change the fact dodging ruins rapid fire guns and the AC with more AP/stability can just choose not to dodge and hold his rapid fire down. If your argument is you are gonna dodge spam, well that means your rapid fire guns CANT shoot back which is my entire point And this goes back to why I think the heavier ACS are so much easier Just get high stability, AP and you don't have to dodge much, just out dps them and since you aren't dodging your guns keep firing while they are not because they keep spam dodging I prefer more of a mid weight build, leaning slightly towards lighter but I came to realize this Whats the point of using these trash machine guns on an AC that relys on dodging, you can't even fire the fucking machine gun since you're dodging so much. Other weapons are just way better, I found no reason as of yet to use the shittier shotgun. You barely gain any speed or stats for picking the lighter guns. Sure once in a while you'll get some nice en efficiency but other than that, the speed increase is ass or not even worth it most the time. I went into a casual match and demolished 3+ S rank clan members 3+ times in a row, with my non meta ACs. That doesn't make me better, all I am saying is that I'm good enough to know half these weapons are ass. How many people even really thought of the fact you can't fire guns when dodging. Yeah, before someone says (no shit), the point was due to this fact, light ACS logically should suck more ass using rapid fire than a heavier AC Because the heavier AC gets to actually use his weapon and the lighter AC can't. If you refuse to dodge as a light AC in order to use your rapid fire machine gun, all that will happen is your ass is staggered with ONE mistake. The rifles are ass as well, in AC4 and ACFA I always rocked duel rifles, missles, ect. There are no sniper rifles and you basically have two rifles that shoot auto oh wow. Having to single fire the other rifles due to the fact you can't hold them down or they will charge is annoying and means in terms of a rifle that can be held down, you basically have two options in the game Thats pretty ass I like the game but they need to add more rifles, longer range weapons like sniper cannons, sniper rifles, and need to fix the balance of lighter weapons need to make you noticably faster, because the damage or reload speed of those weapons doesn't do shit half the time, your better off just using the Zimmerman in every case almost Other shotgun is ass, half the machine guns are ass too. This is my opinion Only time they aren't ass is if you are really needing the en efficiency
Longest comment I've ever seen ngl. I read the whole book, and agree with your point of view, but I might be thr only person who ever reads this. If you want to get your good arguments across in the future, you're gonna have to state your points more concisely.

Not just on your end. Regardless of rank, it's practically impossible to find 3v3 matches.
3 v 3 player seem to be played alot on closed room organized on discord
Nothing can be helped on the ranked, maybe if they get bored, they jumped in ranked time to time
I totally gave up on ranked after it took me a good few grueling days of sweating against the missile rat builds just to get to b as well as getting creative with the map layout to waste their time out of spite. I use a very pulse blade oriented build and I've gotten quite good with it, but man. Going past c rank was a mistake
If games like Fallout 76 and No-mans Sky can make a comeback, AC6 definitely can as well
Absolutely! Let's hope FROM isn't done with AC6 just yet.
Glad you're enjoying the other entries in the series and congrats on reaching a high rank in the top 100, it isn't easy.
Fingers crossed.
part of the problem is that AC6's hard lock, lack of turn rate limit, focus on stagger, practically no redline punishment and generally low level of customisation all come together to make a really underwhelming PvP experience, no matter the meta
I really hope that 6.5 or 7 will heavily overhaul the game's basic systems so we get something closer to gen 3 or 5 in terms of PvP
like yeah, those had their metas too, but there was enough wiggle room and skill expression that gameplay at low levels didn't look literally the same as gameplay at the top, just with progressively more homogenous builds the higher you go
As for multiplayer co-op, gen 5 did that, but 4A fans outside of Asia had their heads so far up their asses that they wouldn't give gen 5 one look before deeming it trash just because it didn't have free flight, and that's how you ended up with all these weird bullshit myths about it being literally the slowest in the series etc.
I'd love to see gen 5's co-op return alongside more stuff like its spirit of motherwill rematch
Imagine the boss fights from Ace Combat infinity where one team is working to take down a giant boss while another team defends it but aboard something like the Strider or Motherwill
Seeing the same builds over and over again while using funny cosplay build make me bore beyond words. Just stop playing rank. Coop mod is very fun.
I got into S with Handle+LC and it was fun (that combo extension that the zimm can't do, oh man) i started some weeks ago the pvp but this time, i am gonna just chill, i will rank up only at the end of it, i wanna just try meme builds now (my beloved scudder and the pulse shield gun are the weapons i will try to make work)
Always important to find ways that make the game an enjoyable experience. Good luck with your build, sounds like a fun combo.
@@dsaBOSS ACIV, FA and VD had some fun missions.
@@EXWildWolf I do miss the partnership/co-op aspect of ACFA.

Feels bad. Such a small change would make a noticeable difference.
I was hoping we'd get more AC parts, missions and Arena battles, but nope, the "update" was a fatload of nothing, I *still* have no idea why Fromsoft even added the Ranked PvP mode, as I don't feel like it added anything to the game, or helped its longevity...
I was hoping for the same, but realistically expecting a balance patch or a map rotation at the very least.
Honestly I’m a little guilty of using dual missiles and JVLN Beta a lot along with poking with a bazooka, but at least I try to close in for kicks, jukes, and pulse blade slashes
I play a middleweight reverse-joint favouring close-mid range combat (with the occasional bazooka Hail Mary)
Your AC sounds more honest than dedicated missile builds that avoid combat the whole time.
@@dsaBOSS And proud of it;
Ephemera head, Mind Alpha core, Basho arms, and Mind Beta legs; probably not the most durable build but it’s gotten me to high A-rank many times and I can end rounds under 20 seconds if I’m lucky
I remember AC4 before regulation 1.01 had a missile boat problem and they were everywhere until missiles were balanced properly.
As fun as these games are, I agree with a lot of what you said here. It especially gets old quick fighting the same build over and over again.
I want them to bring back the co-op endgame bosses from 5thgen
It does seem like every rank has a certain level of competitiveness. Would be ideal if they had casual matchmaking too.
This is why i just run a med-heavy bipedal with dual vientos and lcx weps, and themed it after sans from undertale. Ironically, its pretty tanky and fights zimmers decently well. Its my only successful comp ac.
I agree with you 1000%
This season I don’t think I’ll be getting S rank but i not going to put it down. Armored core is armored core thanks enough for me to keep playing and I still have fun. I enjoy customs because I can play whatever I want and lose and have fun. Plus in customs, you see more variety and that also makes it more fun. Hope we can play one day and have fun with creative mechs.
I'll have to try custom lobbies again. It's nice being able to select from the full list of maps instead of the limited selection that ranked offers.

The inevitable fate of all multiplayer. I often wonder why they bother.

Understandable. Congrats on your rank last season.
FROM is done with AC6, no amount of balancing will change how the game fundamentally
For now we can only just wait for new game that play like this & maybe we get PC armored core collection just so people can replay older AC game with analog controller added to test which AC people like to play the most
As far i consider, AC6 is basically 3rd gen AC in modern control, FA is too far to be considered similar, while VD brought many MP aspect that make the game alive until its final shutdown recently
"Is ranked doomed?" Yeah, the PVP has been doomed since the start because of ACS overload, ricochet and assault boost.
The lack of attention from From will keep this game niche and its potential under-realized. Could have been so easy to allow FFA or 2v2 multiplayer in the least.
I am surprised by their oversight of not having 2 vs 2 or free-for-all. Some of my favorite FA matches were battle royales on Big Box, good times.

Until then, the campaign is a blast and there's mods to revive the gameplay.
the fact that we have to admit is that they don't carr
It's so over. The game is just dying at this point, activity on xbox is terribile and on good days I get the same 3/4 people over and over. At least custom matches are more fun
Dead game
There is LONGER range but no long range which is trash
#6 - why the hell did they make quad legs no longer fast on the ground, theh need to revert that shit, add it or make the hover legs a different type of leg/squad leg.
But if you are dodging then thats time you aren't firing with the machine gun, thus its fucking useless
Thus the longer range machine gun is superior because you can just put it on a bulkier AC and not have to dodge as much and just hold fire so you actually get use of the FUCKING gun
So my thing is, on ACs that dodge alot, rapid fire guns seem a bit shitty due to the fact you can fire while dodging, so all dodging does is lower your dps.
If your argument is you are gonna dodge spam, well that means your rapid fire guns CANT shoot back which is my entire point
And this goes back to why I think the heavier ACS are so much easier
Just get high stability, AP and you don't have to dodge much, just out dps them and since you aren't dodging your guns keep firing while they are not because they keep spam dodging
I prefer more of a mid weight build, leaning slightly towards lighter but I came to realize this
Whats the point of using these trash machine guns on an AC that relys on dodging, you can't even fire the fucking machine gun since you're dodging so much.
Yeah, before someone says (no shit), the point was due to this fact, light ACS logically should suck more ass using rapid fire than a heavier AC
Because the heavier AC gets to actually use his weapon and the lighter AC can't.
Having to single fire the other rifles due to the fact you can't hold them down or they will charge is annoying and means in terms of a rifle that can be held down, you basically have two options in the game
Thats pretty ass
I like the game but they need to add more rifles, longer range weapons like sniper cannons, sniper rifles, and need to fix the balance of lighter weapons need to make you noticably faster, because the damage or reload speed of those weapons doesn't do shit half the time, your better off just using the Zimmerman in every case almost
Other shotgun is ass, half the machine guns are ass too. This is my opinion
Only time they aren't ass is if you are really needing the en efficiency
Longest comment I've ever seen ngl. I read the whole book, and agree with your point of view, but I might be thr only person who ever reads this. If you want to get your good arguments across in the future, you're gonna have to state your points more concisely.
